1 Bu arada Şinar Kralı Amrafel, Ellasar Kralı Aryok, Elam Kralı Kedorlaomer ve Goyim Kralı Tidal 2 Sodom Kralı Bera'ya, Gomora Kralı Birşa'ya, Adma Kralı Şinav'a, Sevoyim Kralı Şemever'e ve Bala -Soar- Kralı'na karşı savaş açtı. 3 Bu son beş kral bugün Lut Gölü olan Siddim Vadisi'nde güçlerini birleştirmişti. 4 Bu krallar on iki yıl Kedorlaomer'in egemenliği altında yaşamış, on üçüncü yıl ona başkaldırmışlardı. 5-6 On dördüncü yıl Kedorlaomer'le onu destekleyen öbür krallar gelip Aşterot-Karnayim'de Refalılar'ı, Ham'da Zuzlular'ı, Şave-Kiryatayim'de Emliler'i, çöl kenarındaki El-Paran'a kadar uzanan dağlık Seir bölgesinde Horlular'ı bozguna uğrattılar. 7 Oradan geri dönüp Eyn-Mişpat'a -Kadeş'e- gittiler. Amalekliler'in bütün topraklarını alarak Haseson-Tamar'da yaşayan Amorlular'ı bozguna uğrattılar. 8-9 Bunun üzerine Sodom, Gomora, Adma, Sevoyim, Bala -Soar- kralları yola çıktı. Bu beş kral dört krala -Elam Kralı Kedorlaomer, Goyim Kralı Tidal, Şinar Kralı Amrafel, Ellasar Kralı Aryok'a- karşı Siddim Vadisi'nde savaş düzenine girdiler. 10 Siddim Vadisi zift çukurlarıyla doluydu. Sodom ve Gomora kralları kaçarken adamlarından bazıları bu çukurlara düştü. Sağ kalanlarsa dağlara kaçtı. 11 Dört kral Sodom ve Gomora'nın bütün malını ve yiyeceğini alıp gitti. 12 Avram'ın yeğeni Lut'la mallarını da götürdüler. Çünkü o da Sodom'da yaşıyordu. 13 Oradan kaçıp kurtulan biri gelip İbrani Avram'a durumu bildirdi. Avram Eşkol'la Aner'in kardeşi Amorlu Mamre'nin meşeliğinde yaşıyordu. Bunların hepsi Avram'dan yanaydılar. 14 Avram yeğeni Lut'un tutsak alındığını duyunca, evinde doğup yetişmiş üç yüz on sekiz adamını yanına alarak dört kralı Dan'a kadar kovaladı. 15 Adamlarını gruplara ayırdı, gece saldırıp onları bozguna uğratarak Şam'ın kuzeyindeki Hova'ya kadar kovaladı. 16 Yağmalanan bütün malı, yeğeni Lut'la mallarını, kadınları ve halkı geri getirdi. 



17 Avram Kedorlaomer'le onu destekleyen kralları bozguna uğratıp dönünce, Sodom Kralı onu karşılamak için Kral Vadisi olan Şave Vadisi'ne gitti. 18 Yüce Tanrı'nın kâhini olan Şalem Kralı Melkisedek ekmek ve şarap getirdi. 19 Avram'ı kutsayarak şöyle dedi: ‹‹Yeri göğü yaratan yüce Tanrı Avram'ı kutsasın, 20 Düşmanlarını onun eline teslim eden yüce Tanrı'ya övgüler olsun.›› Bunun üzerine Avram her şeyin ondalığını Melkisedek'e verdi. 21 Sodom Kralı Avram'a, ‹‹Adamlarımı bana ver, mallar sana kalsın›› dedi. 22-23 Avram Sodom Kralı'na, ‹‹Yeri göğü yaratan yüce Tanrı RAB'bin önünde sana ait hiçbir şey, bir iplik, bir çarık bağı bile almayacağıma ant içerim›› diye karşılık verdi, ‹‹Öyle ki, ‹Avram'ı zengin ettim› demeyesin. 24 Yalnız, adamlarımın yedikleri bunun dışında. Bir de beni destekleyen Aner, Eşkol ve Mamre paylarına düşeni alsınlar.››

1 In the days of Amraphel king of Shinar, Arioch king of Ellasar, Chedorlaomer king of Elam, and Tidal king of Goiim, (Yar 10:10; Yar 10:22; Yar 11:2; Yşa 11:11; Elç 2:9) 2 these kings made war with Bera king of Sodom, Birsha king of Gomorrah, Shinab king of Admah, Shemeber king of Zeboiim, and the king of Bela (that is, Zoar). (Yar 13:10; Yar 14:8; Yar 19:22; Yas 29:23) 3 And all these joined forces in the Valley of Siddim (that is, the Salt Sea). (Say 34:12; Yas 3:17; Yşu 3:16) 4 Twelve years they had served Chedorlaomer, but in the thirteenth year they rebelled. 5 In the fourteenth year Chedorlaomer and the kings who were with him came and defeated the Rephaim in Ashteroth-karnaim, the Zuzim in Ham, the Emim in Shaveh-kiriathaim, (Yar 15:20; Yas 1:4; Yas 2:10; Yas 2:11; Yas 2:20; Yas 3:11) 6 and the Horites in their hill country of Seir as far as El-paran on the border of the wilderness. (Yar 21:21; Say 12:16; Say 13:3; Yas 2:12; Yas 2:22) 7 Then they turned back and came to En-mishpat (that is, Kadesh) and defeated all the country of the Amalekites, and also the Amorites who were dwelling in Hazazon-tamar. (Yar 16:14; Yar 20:1; Say 13:26; 2 Ta 20:2) 8 Then the king of Sodom, the king of Gomorrah, the king of Admah, the king of Zeboiim, and the king of Bela (that is, Zoar) went out, and they joined battle in the Valley of Siddim 9 with Chedorlaomer king of Elam, Tidal king of Goiim, Amraphel king of Shinar, and Arioch king of Ellasar, four kings against five. 10 Now the Valley of Siddim was full of bitumen pits, and as the kings of Sodom and Gomorrah fled, some fell into them, and the rest fled to the hill country. (Yar 11:3; Yar 19:17; Yar 19:30; Çık 2:3) 11 So the enemy took all the possessions of Sodom and Gomorrah, and all their provisions, and went their way. (Yar 14:16; Yar 14:21) 12 They also took Lot, the son of Abram’s brother, who was dwelling in Sodom, and his possessions, and went their way. (Yar 12:5; Yar 13:12) 13 Then one who had escaped came and told Abram the Hebrew, who was living by the oaks[1] of Mamre the Amorite, brother of Eshcol and of Aner. These were allies of Abram. (Yar 12:6; Yar 13:18) 14 When Abram heard that his kinsman had been taken captive, he led forth his trained men, born in his house, 318 of them, and went in pursuit as far as Dan. (Yar 15:3; Yar 17:12; Yar 17:23; Yar 17:27; Hak 18:29; Vai 2:7) 15 And he divided his forces against them by night, he and his servants, and defeated them and pursued them to Hobah, north of Damascus. 16 Then he brought back all the possessions, and also brought back his kinsman Lot with his possessions, and the women and the people. (Yar 14:11) 



17 After his return from the defeat of Chedorlaomer and the kings who were with him, the king of Sodom went out to meet him at the Valley of Shaveh (that is, the King’s Valley). (2 Sa 18:18) 18 And Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine. (He was priest of God Most High.) (Mez 57:2; Mez 110:4; Elç 16:17; İbr 5:6; İbr 5:10; İbr 7:1; İbr 7:11; İbr 7:17) 19 And he blessed him and said, “Blessed be Abram by God Most High, Possessor[2] of heaven and earth; (Mat 11:25; İbr 7:6) 20 and blessed be God Most High, who has delivered your enemies into your hand!” And Abram gave him a tenth of everything. (Yar 28:22; İbr 7:4) 21 And the king of Sodom said to Abram, “Give me the persons, but take the goods for yourself.” 22 But Abram said to the king of Sodom, “I have lifted my hand[3] to the Lord, God Most High, Possessor of heaven and earth, (Çık 6:8; Say 14:30; Yas 32:40; Hez 20:5; Hez 20:15; Hez 20:23; Hez 20:28; Dan 12:7; Va 10:5) 23 that I would not take a thread or a sandal strap or anything that is yours, lest you should say, ‘I have made Abram rich.’ (Est 9:15) 24 I will take nothing but what the young men have eaten, and the share of the men who went with me. Let Aner, Eshcol, and Mamre take their share.” (Yar 14:13)
