Şeria Ovası'nın tümü RAB'bin bahçesi gibi, Soar'a doğru giderken Mısır toprakları gibiydi. Her yerde bol su vardı. RAB Sodom ve Gomora kentlerini yok etmeden önce ova böyleydi.11Lut kendine Şeria Ovası'nın tümünü seçerek doğuya doğru göçtü. Birbirlerinden ayrıldılar.12Avram Kenan topraklarında kaldı. Lut ovadaki kentlerin arasına yerleşti, Sodom'a yakın bir yere çadır kurdu.13Sodom halkı çok kötüydü. RAB'be karşı büyük günah işliyordu.14Lut Avram'dan ayrıldıktan sonra, RAB Avram'a, ‹‹Bulunduğun yerden kuzeye, güneye, doğuya, batıya dikkatle bak›› dedi,15‹‹Gördüğün bütün toprakları sonsuza dek sana ve soyuna vereceğim.16Soyunu toprağın tozu kadar çoğaltacağım. Öyle ki, biri çıkıp da toprağın tozunu sayabilirse, senin soyunu da sayabilecek.17Kalk, sana vereceğim toprakları boydan boya dolaş.››18Avram çadırını söktü, gidip Hevron'daki Mamre meşeliğine yerleşti. Orada RAB'be bir sunak yaptı.

Abram and Lot Separate
1So Abram went up from Egypt, he and his wife and all that he had, and Lot with him, into the Negeb. (Yar 12:9)2Now Abram was very rich in livestock, in silver, and in gold. (Yar 24:35; Mez 112:1; Özd 10:22)3And he journeyed on from the Negeb as far as Bethel to the place where his tent had been at the beginning, between Bethel and Ai,4to the place where he had made an altar at the first. And there Abram called upon the name of the Lord. (Yar 12:7)5And Lot, who went with Abram, also had flocks and herds and tents,6so that the land could not support both of them dwelling together; for their possessions were so great that they could not dwell together, (Yar 36:6)7and there was strife between the herdsmen of Abram’s livestock and the herdsmen of Lot’s livestock. At that time the Canaanites and the Perizzites were dwelling in the land. (Yar 12:6; Yar 26:20)8Then Abram said to Lot, “Let there be no strife between you and me, and between your herdsmen and my herdsmen, for we are kinsmen.[1] (Elç 7:26; 1 Ko 6:1)9Is not the whole land before you? Separate yourself from me. If you take the left hand, then I will go to the right, or if you take the right hand, then I will go to the left.” (Yar 20:15; Yar 34:10)10And Lot lifted up his eyes and saw that the Jordan Valley was well watered everywhere like the garden of the Lord, like the land of Egypt, in the direction of Zoar. (This was before the Lord destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah.) (Yar 2:8; Yar 14:2; Yar 14:8; Yar 19:17; Yar 19:22; Yar 19:24; Yar 19:25; Yar 19:28; Yas 34:3; 1 Kr 7:46; Yşa 51:3; Hez 28:13; Yoe 2:3; Mat 3:5)11So Lot chose for himself all the Jordan Valley, and Lot journeyed east. Thus they separated from each other.12Abram settled in the land of Canaan, while Lot settled among the cities of the valley and moved his tent as far as Sodom.13Now the men of Sodom were wicked, great sinners against the Lord. (Yar 18:20; Hez 16:49; 2 Pe 2:7)14The Lord said to Abram, after Lot had separated from him, “Lift up your eyes and look from the place where you are, northward and southward and eastward and westward, (Yar 28:14)15for all the land that you see I will give to you and to your offspring forever. (Yar 12:7; Yar 15:18; Yar 17:8; Yar 24:7; Yar 26:4; Yar 28:13; Yar 35:12; Yas 34:4; 2 Ta 20:7; Elç 7:5)16I will make your offspring as the dust of the earth, so that if one can count the dust of the earth, your offspring also can be counted. (Yar 15:5; Yar 22:17; Yar 28:14; Yar 32:12; Say 23:10; 1 Kr 3:8)17Arise, walk through the length and the breadth of the land, for I will give it to you.”18So Abram moved his tent and came and settled by the oaks[2] of Mamre, which are at Hebron, and there he built an altar to the Lord. (Yar 12:6; Yar 14:13; Yar 35:27)
