1 İsa bir yerde dua ediyordu. Duasını bitirince öğrencilerinden biri, ‹‹Ya Rab›› dedi, ‹‹Yahya'nın kendi öğrencilerine öğrettiği gibi sen de bize dua etmesini öğret.›› 2 İsa onlara, ‹‹Dua ederken şöyle söyleyin›› dedi: ‹‹Baba, adın kutsal kılınsın. Egemenliğin gelsin. 3 Her gün bize gündelik ekmeğimizi ver. 4 Günahlarımızı bağışla. Çünkü biz de bize karşı suç işleyen herkesi bağışlıyoruz. Ayartılmamıza izin verme.›› 5-7 Sonra şöyle dedi: ‹‹Sizlerden birinin bir arkadaşı olur da gece yarısı ona gidip, ‹Arkadaş, bana üç ekmek ödünç ver. Bir arkadaşım yoldan geldi, önüne koyacak bir şeyim yok› derse, öbürü içerden, ‹Beni rahatsız etme! Kapı kilitli, çocuklarım da yanımda yatıyor. Kalkıp sana bir şey veremem› der mi hiç? 8 Size şunu söyleyeyim, arkadaşlık gereği kalkıp ona istediğini vermese bile, adamın yüzsüzlüğünden ötürü kalkar, ihtiyacı neyse ona verir. 9 ‹‹Ben size şunu söyleyeyim: Dileyin, size verilecek; arayın, bulacaksınız; kapıyı çalın, size açılacaktır. 10 Çünkü her dileyen alır, arayan bulur, kapı çalana açılır. 11 ‹‹Aranızda hangi baba, ekmek isteyen oğluna taş verir? Ya da balık isterse balık yerine yılan verir? 12 Ya da yumurta isterse ona akrep verir? 13 Sizler kötü yürekli olduğunuz halde çocuklarınıza güzel armağanlar vermeyi biliyorsanız, gökteki Baba'nın, kendisinden dileyenlere Kutsal Ruh'u vereceği çok daha kesin değil mi?›› 



14 İsa adamın birinden dilsiz bir cini kovuyordu. Cin çıkınca adamın dili çözüldü. Halk hayret içinde kaldı. (Mat 12:22; Mar 3:20) 15 Ama içlerinden bazıları, ‹‹Cinleri, cinlerin önderi Baalzevul'un gücüyle kovuyor›› dediler. 16 Bazıları ise O'nu denemek amacıyla gökten bir belirti göstermesini istediler. 17 Onların ne düşündüğünü bilen İsa şöyle dedi: ‹‹Kendi içinde bölünen ülke yıkılır, kendi içinde bölünen ev çöker. 18 Şeytan da kendi içinde bölünmüşse, onun egemenliği nasıl ayakta kalabilir? Siz, benim Baalzevul'un gücüyle cinleri kovduğumu söylüyorsunuz. 19 Eğer ben cinleri Baalzevul'un gücüyle kovuyorsam, sizin adamlarınız kimin gücüyle kovuyor? Sizi bu durumda kendi adamlarınız yargılayacak. 20 Ama ben cinleri Tanrı'nın eliyle kovuyorsam, Tanrı'nın Egemenliği üzerinize gelmiş demektir. 21 ‹‹Tepeden tırnağa silahlanmış güçlü bir adam kendi evini koruduğu sürece, malları güvenlik içinde olur. 22 Ne var ki, ondan daha güçlü biri saldırıp onu alt ettiğinde güvendiği bütün silahları elinden alır ve mallarını yağmalayarak bölüştürür. 23 Benden yana olmayan bana karşıdır, benimle birlikte toplamayan dağıtıyor demektir. 24 ‹‹Kötü ruh insandan çıkınca kurak yerlerde dolanıp huzur arar. Bulamayınca da, ‹Çıktığım eve, kendi evime döneyim› der. 25 Eve gelince orayı süpürülmüş, düzeltilmiş bulur. 26 Bunun üzerine gider, kendisinden kötü yedi ruh daha alır ve eve girip yerleşirler. Böylece o kişinin son durumu ilkinden beter olur.›› 27 İsa bu sözleri söylerken kalabalığın içinden bir kadın O'na, ‹‹Ne mutlu seni taşımış olan rahme, emzirmiş olan memelere!›› diye seslendi. 28 İsa, ‹‹Daha doğrusu, ne mutlu Tanrı'nın sözünü dinleyip uygulayanlara!›› dedi. 



29 Çevredeki kalabalık büyürken İsa konuşmaya başladı. ‹‹Şimdiki kuşak kötü bir kuşaktır›› dedi. ‹‹Doğaüstü bir belirti istiyor, ama ona Yunus'un belirtisinden başka bir belirti gösterilmeyecek. (Mat 12:38) 30 Yunus nasıl Ninova halkına bir belirti olduysa, İnsanoğlu da bu kuşak için öyle olacaktır. 31 Güney Kraliçesi, yargı günü bu kuşağın adamlarıyla birlikte kalkıp onları yargılayacak. Çünkü kraliçe, Süleyman'ın bilgece sözlerini dinlemek için dünyanın ta öbür ucundan gelmişti. Bakın, Süleyman'dan daha üstün olan buradadır. 32 Ninova halkı, yargı günü bu kuşakla birlikte kalkıp bu kuşağı yargılayacak. Çünkü Ninovalılar, Yunus'un çağrısı üzerine tövbe ettiler. Bakın, Yunus'tan daha üstün olan buradadır.›› 



33 ‹‹Hiç kimse kandil yakıp onu gizli yere ya da tahıl ölçeğinin altına koymaz. Tersine, içeri girenler ışığı görsünler diye onu kandilliğe koyar. (Mat 5:15) 34 Bedenin ışığı gözdür. Gözün sağlamsa, bütün bedenin de aydınlık olur. Gözün bozuksa, bedenin de karanlık olur. 35 Öyleyse dikkat et, sendeki ‹ışık› karanlık olmasın. 36 Eğer bütün bedenin aydınlık olur ve hiçbir yanı karanlık kalmazsa, kandilin seni ışınlarıyla aydınlattığı zamanki gibi, bedenin tümden aydınlık olur.›› 



37 İsa konuşmasını bitirince bir Ferisi O'nu evine yemeğe çağırdı. O da içeri girerek sofraya oturdu. (Mat 23:1) 38 İsa'nın yemekten önce yıkanmadığını gören Ferisi şaştı. 39 Rab ona şöyle dedi: ‹‹Siz Ferisiler, bardağın ve tabağın dışını temizlersiniz, ama içiniz açgözlülük ve kötülükle doludur. 40 Ey akılsızlar! Dışı yapanla içi yapan aynı değil mi? 41 Siz kaplarınızın içindekini sadaka olarak verin, o zaman sizin için her şey temiz olur. 42 ‹‹Ama vay halinize, ey Ferisiler! Siz nanenin, sedefotunun ve her tür sebzenin ondalığını verirsiniz de, adaleti ve Tanrı sevgisini ihmal edersiniz. Ondalık vermeyi ihmal etmeden esas bunları yerine getirmeniz gerekirdi. 43 Vay halinize, ey Ferisiler! Havralarda en seçkin yerlere kurulmaya, meydanlarda selamlanmaya bayılırsınız. 44 Vay halinize! İnsanların, farkında olmadan üzerlerinde gezindiği belirsiz mezarlara benziyorsunuz.›› (Mat 6:9) 45 Kutsal Yasa uzmanlarından biri söz alıp İsa'ya, ‹‹Öğretmenim, bunları söylemekle bize de hakaret etmiş oluyorsun›› dedi. 46 İsa, ‹‹Sizin de vay halinize, ey Yasa uzmanları!›› dedi. ‹‹İnsanlara taşınması güç yükler yüklersiniz, kendiniz ise bu yükleri kaldırmak için parmağınızı bile kıpırdatmazsınız. 47 Vay halinize! Peygamberlerin anıtlarını yaparsınız, oysa onları sizin atalarınız öldürmüştür. 48 Böylelikle atalarınızın yaptıklarına tanıklık ederek bunları onaylamış oluyorsunuz. Çünkü onlar peygamberleri öldürdüler, siz de anıtlarını yapıyorsunuz. 49 İşte bunun için Tanrı'nın Bilgeliği şöyle demiştir: ‹Ben onlara peygamberler ve elçiler göndereceğim, bunlardan kimini öldürecek, kimine zulmedecekler.› 50-51 Böylece bu kuşak, Habil'in kanından tutun da, sunakla tapınak arasında öldürülen Zekeriya'nın kanına değin, dünyanın kuruluşundan beri akıtılan bütün peygamberlerin kanından sorumlu tutulacaktır. Evet, size söylüyorum, bu kuşak sorumlu tutulacaktır. 52 Vay halinize, ey Yasa uzmanları! Bilgi kapısının anahtarını alıp götürdünüz. Kendiniz bu kapıdan girmediniz, girmek isteyenlere de engel oldunuz.›› 53 İsa oradan ayrılınca, din bilginleriyle Ferisiler O'nu şiddetle sıkıştırarak birçok konuda ağzını aramaya başladılar. 54 Ağzından çıkacak bir sözle O'nu tuzağa düşürmek için fırsat kolluyorlardı.

1 Now Jesus[1] was praying in a certain place, and when he finished, one of his disciples said to him, “Lord, teach us to pray, as John taught his disciples.” (Luk 5:33) 2 And he said to them, “When you pray, say: “Father, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come. (Yşa 29:23; Mat 3:2; Mat 4:17; Mat 6:9; Luk 1:49; Yu 17:6; Yu 20:17; 1 Pe 1:17; 1 Pe 3:15) 3 Give us each day our daily bread,[2] (Özd 30:8; Mat 6:34) 4 and forgive us our sins, for we ourselves forgive everyone who is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation.” (Mat 26:41; Mar 14:38; Luk 7:48; Luk 22:40; Luk 22:46; 1 Ko 10:13) 5 And he said to them, “Which of you who has a friend will go to him at midnight and say to him, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves, 6 for a friend of mine has arrived on a journey, and I have nothing to set before him’; 7 and he will answer from within, ‘Do not bother me; the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed. I cannot get up and give you anything’? 8 I tell you, though he will not get up and give him anything because he is his friend, yet because of his impudence[3] he will rise and give him whatever he needs. (Luk 18:1) 9 And I tell you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. (1 Ta 28:9; 2 Ta 15:2; Özd 8:17; Yşa 55:6; Yer 29:13; Mat 7:7; Mat 18:19; Mat 21:22; Mar 11:24; Yu 14:13; Yu 15:7; Yu 15:16; Yu 16:23; Yak 1:5; Yak 1:17; 1 Yu 3:22; 1 Yu 5:14; Va 3:20) 10 For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened. 11 What father among you, if his son asks for[4] a fish, will instead of a fish give him a serpent; 12 or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion? 13 If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!” (Yar 6:5; Yar 8:21; Mat 12:34; Yu 4:10; Elç 2:38) 



14 Now he was casting out a demon that was mute. When the demon had gone out, the mute man spoke, and the people marveled. (Mat 9:32; Mat 12:22) 15 But some of them said, “He casts out demons by Beelzebul, the prince of demons,” (Mat 10:25) 16 while others, to test him, kept seeking from him a sign from heaven. (Yu 8:6) 17 But he, knowing their thoughts, said to them, “Every kingdom divided against itself is laid waste, and a divided household falls. (Mat 9:4; Mat 12:25; Mar 3:23) 18 And if Satan also is divided against himself, how will his kingdom stand? For you say that I cast out demons by Beelzebul. 19 And if I cast out demons by Beelzebul, by whom do your sons cast them out? Therefore they will be your judges. (2 Kr 2:7; Elç 19:13) 20 But if it is by the finger of God that I cast out demons, then the kingdom of God has come upon you. (Çık 8:19; Çık 31:18; Yas 9:10; Mez 8:3; Mat 19:24; Mat 21:31; Mat 21:43; Luk 17:21) 21 When a strong man, fully armed, guards his own palace, his goods are safe; 22 but when one stronger than he attacks him and overcomes him, he takes away his armor in which he trusted and divides his spoil. (Yşa 49:24; Yşa 53:12; Yu 16:33; Ef 6:11) 23 Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters. (Mat 12:30; Mar 9:40; Luk 9:50) 



24 “When the unclean spirit has gone out of a person, it passes through waterless places seeking rest, and finding none it says, ‘I will return to my house from which I came.’ (Mez 63:1; Yer 2:6; Mat 12:43) 25 And when it comes, it finds the house swept and put in order. 26 Then it goes and brings seven other spirits more evil than itself, and they enter and dwell there. And the last state of that person is worse than the first.” (Yu 5:14; 2 Pe 2:20) 



27 As he said these things, a woman in the crowd raised her voice and said to him, “Blessed is the womb that bore you, and the breasts at which you nursed!” (2 Ta 9:7; Luk 1:48; Luk 12:13) 28 But he said, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and keep it!” (Lev 22:31; Luk 8:21; Yak 1:22; Va 1:3; Va 22:7) 



29 When the crowds were increasing, he began to say, “This generation is an evil generation. It seeks for a sign, but no sign will be given to it except the sign of Jonah. (Mat 12:38; Mat 12:39; Mar 8:11; Luk 11:16; Luk 12:1) 30 For as Jonah became a sign to the people of Nineveh, so will the Son of Man be to this generation. (Yun 1:17) 31 The queen of the South will rise up at the judgment with the men of this generation and condemn them, for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon, and behold, something greater than Solomon is here. (1 Kr 10:1; 2 Ta 9:1; Yer 3:11; Hez 16:51; Mat 12:6; Rom 2:27; İbr 11:7) 32 The men of Nineveh will rise up at the judgment with this generation and condemn it, for they repented at the preaching of Jonah, and behold, something greater than Jonah is here. (Yun 1:2; Yun 3:5; Luk 11:31) 



33 “No one after lighting a lamp puts it in a cellar or under a basket, but on a stand, so that those who enter may see the light. (Mat 5:15; Mar 4:21; Luk 8:16) 34 Your eye is the lamp of your body. When your eye is healthy, your whole body is full of light, but when it is bad, your body is full of darkness. (Yas 15:9; Mat 6:22) 35 Therefore be careful lest the light in you be darkness. (Luk 11:34) 36 If then your whole body is full of light, having no part dark, it will be wholly bright, as when a lamp with its rays gives you light.” (Mat 5:16) 



37 While Jesus[5] was speaking, a Pharisee asked him to dine with him, so he went in and reclined at table. (Luk 7:36; Luk 14:1) 38 The Pharisee was astonished to see that he did not first wash before dinner. (Mat 15:2; Mar 7:3) 39 And the Lord said to him, “Now you Pharisees cleanse the outside of the cup and of the dish, but inside you are full of greed and wickedness. (Mat 23:25; Luk 16:14; Luk 20:47) 40 You fools! Did not he who made the outside make the inside also? (Luk 11:39; Luk 12:20) 41 But give as alms those things that are within, and behold, everything is clean for you. (Dan 4:27; Luk 12:33; Luk 16:9; Tit 1:15) 42 “But woe to you Pharisees! For you tithe mint and rue and every herb, and neglect justice and the love of God. These you ought to have done, without neglecting the others. (Yas 14:22; 1 Sa 15:22; Mez 33:5; Yer 5:1; Mik 6:8; Zek 7:9; Mat 23:23; Luk 18:12; 1 Yu 3:17) 43 Woe to you Pharisees! For you love the best seat in the synagogues and greetings in the marketplaces. (Mat 23:6; Mar 12:38; Luk 14:7; Luk 20:46) 44 Woe to you! For you are like unmarked graves, and people walk over them without knowing it.” (Mat 23:27) 45 One of the lawyers answered him, “Teacher, in saying these things you insult us also.” (Luk 7:30; Luk 11:46; Luk 11:52) 46 And he said, “Woe to you lawyers also! For you load people with burdens hard to bear, and you yourselves do not touch the burdens with one of your fingers. (Mat 11:28; Mat 23:4; Luk 11:45; Luk 11:52; Elç 15:10) 47 Woe to you! For you build the tombs of the prophets whom your fathers killed. (Mat 23:29) 48 So you are witnesses and you consent to the deeds of your fathers, for they killed them, and you build their tombs. (Mat 23:31; Elç 7:51; Rom 1:32) 49 Therefore also the Wisdom of God said, ‘I will send them prophets and apostles, some of whom they will kill and persecute,’ (Özd 8:12; Özd 8:22; Özd 8:30; Mat 11:19; Mat 21:35; Mat 23:34; Luk 7:35; Elç 13:1; 1 Ko 1:24; 1 Ko 1:30; 1 Ko 12:28; Kol 2:3; 1 Se 2:15) 50 so that the blood of all the prophets, shed from the foundation of the world, may be charged against this generation, (Yar 42:22; 2 Ta 24:22; Hez 3:18; Mat 13:35; Va 18:24) 51 from the blood of Abel to the blood of Zechariah, who perished between the altar and the sanctuary. Yes, I tell you, it will be required of this generation. (Yar 4:4; Yar 4:8; Çık 40:6; 2 Kr 16:14; 2 Ta 24:20; Hez 40:47; Luk 11:50; İbr 11:4; 1 Yu 3:12) 52 Woe to you lawyers! For you have taken away the key of knowledge. You did not enter yourselves, and you hindered those who were entering.” (Mal 2:7; Mat 5:20; Mat 21:31; Mat 23:13; Luk 7:30; Luk 11:45; Rom 2:20) 53 As he went away from there, the scribes and the Pharisees began to press him hard and to provoke him to speak about many things, 54 lying in wait for him, to catch him in something he might say. (Yşa 29:21; Mat 22:15; Mar 3:2; Mar 12:13; Luk 20:20; Yu 8:6)
