16– А ты не молись за этот народ, не возноси за них ни прошения, ни молитвы; не умоляй Меня, Я не стану тебя слушать.17Разве ты не видишь, что они делают в городах Иудеи и на улицах Иерусалима?18Дети собирают дрова, отцы разводят огонь, а женщины месят тесто и пекут лепешки для богини неба[1]. 1The word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord:2“Stand in the gate of the Lord’s house, and proclaim there this word, and say, Hear the word of the Lord, all you men of Judah who enter these gates to worship the Lord. (Jer 26,2)3Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: Amend your ways and your deeds, and I will let you dwell in this place. The Valley of Slaughter
30“For the sons of Judah have done evil in my sight, declares the Lord. They have set their detestable things in the house that is called by my name, to defile it. (2Kön 21,4; 2Kön 21,7; Jer 7,10; Jer 19,5; Jer 32,34; Hes 5,11; Hes 7,20)31And they have built the high places of Topheth, which is in the Valley of the Son of Hinnom, to burn their sons and their daughters in the fire, which I did not command, nor did it come into my mind. (5Mo 17,3; Jos 18,16; 2Kön 23,10; Ps 106,38; Jer 7,21; Jer 31,40)32Therefore, behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when it will no more be called Topheth, or the Valley of the Son of Hinnom, but the Valley of Slaughter; for they will bury in Topheth, because there is no room elsewhere.
