1 Bundan sonra İsa Celile'de dolaşmaya başladı. Yahudi yetkililer O'nu öldürmeyi amaçladıkları için Yahudiye'de dolaşmak istemiyordu. 2 Yahudiler'in Çardak Bayramı yaklaşmıştı. 3 Bu nedenle İsa'nın kardeşleri O'na, ‹‹Buradan ayrıl, Yahudiye'ye git›› dediler, ‹‹Öğrencilerin de yaptığın işleri görsünler. 4 Çünkü kendini açıkça tanıtmak isteyen bir kimse yaptıklarını gizlemez. Mademki bu şeyleri yapıyorsun, kendini dünyaya göster!›› 5 Kardeşleri bile O'na iman etmiyorlardı. 6 İsa onlara, ‹‹Benim zamanım daha gelmedi›› dedi, ‹‹Oysa sizin için zaman hep uygundur. 7 Dünya sizden nefret edemez, ama benden nefret ediyor. İsa tapınağa gidip öğretmeye başladı. 15 Yahudiler şaşırdılar. ‹‹Bu adam hiç öğrenim görmediği halde, nasıl bu kadar bilgili olabilir?›› dediler. 16 İsa onlara, ‹‹Benim öğretim benim değil, beni gönderenindir›› diye karşılık verdi. 17 ‹‹Eğer bir kimse Tanrı'nın isteğini yerine getirmek istiyorsa, bu öğretinin Tanrı'dan mı olduğunu, yoksa kendiliğimden mi konuştuğumu bilecektir. 18 Kendiliğinden konuşan kendini yüceltmek ister, ama kendisini göndereni yüceltmek isteyen doğrudur ve O'nda haksızlık yoktur. 19 Musa size Kutsal Yasa'yı vermedi mi? Yine de hiçbiriniz Yasa'yı yerine getirmiyor. Oysa Mesih geldiği zaman O'nun nereden geldiğini kimse bilmeyecek.›› 28 O sırada tapınakta öğreten İsa yüksek sesle şöyle dedi: ‹‹Hem beni tanıyorsunuz, hem de nereden olduğumu biliyorsunuz! Ben kendiliğimden gelmedim. Beni gönderen gerçektir. O'nu siz tanımıyorsunuz. 29 Ben O'nu tanırım. Çünkü ben O'ndanım, beni O gönderdi.›› 30 Bunun üzerine O'nu yakalamak istediler, ama kimse O'na el sürmedi. Çünkü O'nun saati henüz gelmemişti. 31 Halktan birçok kişi ise O'na iman etti. ‹‹Mesih gelince, bunun yaptıklarından daha mı çok mucize yapacak?›› diyorlardı. 32 Ferisiler halkın İsa hakkında böyle fısıldaştığını duydular. Başkâhinler ve Ferisiler O'nu yakalamak için görevliler gönderdiler. 33 İsa, ‹‹Kısa bir süre daha sizinleyim›› dedi, ‹‹Sonra beni gönderene gideceğim. 34 Beni arayacaksınız ama bulamayacaksınız. Ve benim bulunduğum yere siz gelemezsiniz.›› 35 Bunun üzerine Yahudiler birbirlerine, ‹‹Bu adam nereye gidecek de biz O'nu bulamayacağız?›› dediler. ‹‹Yoksa Grekler arasında dağılmış olanlara gidip Grekler'e mi öğretecek? 36 ‹Beni arayacaksınız ama bulamayacaksınız. Ve benim bulunduğum yere siz gelemezsiniz› diyor. Ne demek istiyor?›› 37 Bayramın son ve en önemli günü İsa ayağa kalktı, yüksek sesle şöyle dedi: ‹‹Bir kimse susamışsa bana gelsin, içsin. 38 Kutsal Yazı'da dendiği gibi, bana iman edenin ‹içinden diri su ırmakları akacaktır.› ›› 39 Bunu, kendisine iman edenlerin alacağı Ruh'la ilgili olarak söylüyordu. Ruh henüz verilmemişti. Çünkü İsa henüz yüceltilmemişti. 40 Halktan bazıları bu sözleri işitince, ‹‹Gerçekten beklediğimiz peygamber budur›› dediler. 41 Bazıları da, ‹‹Bu Mesih'tir›› diyorlardı. Başkaları ise, ‹‹Olamaz! Mesih Celile'den mi gelecek?›› dediler. 42 ‹‹Kutsal Yazı'da, ‹Mesih, Davut'un soyundan, Davut'un yaşadığı Beytlehem Kenti'nden gelecek› denmemiş midir?›› 43 Böylece İsa'dan dolayı halk arasında ayrılık doğdu. 44 Bazıları O'nu yakalamak istedilerse de, kimse O'na el sürmedi. 



45 Görevliler geri dönünce, başkâhinlerle Ferisiler, ‹‹Niçin O'nu getirmediniz?›› diye sordular. 46 Görevliler, ‹‹Hiç kimse hiçbir zaman bu adamın konuştuğu gibi konuşmamıştır›› karşılığını verdiler. 47 Ferisiler, ‹‹Yoksa siz de mi aldandınız?›› dediler. 48 ‹‹Önderlerden ya da Ferisiler'den O'na iman eden oldu mu hiç? 49 Kutsal Yasa'yı bilmeyen bu halk lanetlidir.›› 50-51 İçlerinden biri, daha önce İsa'ya gelen Nikodim, onlara şöyle dedi: ‹‹Yasamıza göre, bir adamı dinlemeden, ne yaptığını öğrenmeden onu yargılamak doğru mu?›› 52 Ona, ‹‹Yoksa sen de mi Celile'densin?›› diye karşılık verdiler. ‹‹Araştır, bak, Celile'den peygamber çıkmaz.››

1 After this Jesus went about in Galilee. He would not go about in Judea, because the Jews[1] were seeking to kill him. (Yu 5:18; Yu 8:37; Yu 8:40; Yu 11:53) 2 Now the Jews’ Feast of Booths was at hand. (Lev 23:34; Yu 5:1; Yu 6:4) 3 So his brothers[2] said to him, “Leave here and go to Judea, that your disciples also may see the works you are doing. (Mat 12:46; Yu 7:5; Yu 7:10) 4 For no one works in secret if he seeks to be known openly. If you do these things, show yourself to the world.” (Yu 14:22; Yu 18:20) 5 For not even his brothers believed in him. (Mat 13:57; Mar 3:21; Yu 7:3; Yu 7:10) 6 Jesus said to them, “My time has not yet come, but your time is always here. (Yu 2:4; Yu 7:8; Yu 7:30) 7 The world cannot hate you, but it hates me because I testify about it that its works are evil. (Yu 3:19; Yu 15:18; Yu 15:24; Kol 1:21; 1 Yu 3:12) 8 You go up to the feast. I am not[3] going up to this feast, for my time has not yet fully come.” (Yu 2:4) 9 After saying this, he remained in Galilee. 10 But after his brothers had gone up to the feast, then he also went up, not publicly but in private. (Yu 7:3; Yu 7:5) 11 The Jews were looking for him at the feast, and saying, “Where is he?” (Yu 7:1; Yu 11:56) 12 And there was much muttering about him among the people. While some said, “He is a good man,” others said, “No, he is leading the people astray.” (Yu 7:32; Yu 7:40; Yu 7:47) 13 Yet for fear of the Jews no one spoke openly of him. (Yu 9:22; Yu 12:42; Yu 19:38; Yu 20:19) 14 About the middle of the feast Jesus went up into the temple and began teaching. (Yu 7:28) 15 The Jews therefore marveled, saying, “How is it that this man has learning,[4] when he has never studied?” (Luk 2:47; Luk 4:22; Yu 7:46; Elç 4:13) 16 So Jesus answered them, “My teaching is not mine, but his who sent me. (Yu 3:17; Yu 3:34; Yu 8:28; Yu 12:49; Yu 14:10; Yu 14:24) 17 If anyone’s will is to do God’s[5] will, he will know whether the teaching is from God or whether I am speaking on my own authority. (Mez 25:9; Dan 12:10; Yu 5:30; Yu 8:31; Yu 8:43; Yu 14:21; Yu 14:23; Flp 3:15) 18 The one who speaks on his own authority seeks his own glory; but the one who seeks the glory of him who sent him is true, and in him there is no falsehood. (Yu 5:41; Yu 8:50) 19 Has not Moses given you the law? Yet none of you keeps the law. Why do you seek to kill me?” (Yu 1:17; Yu 7:1; Yu 7:23) 20 The crowd answered, “You have a demon! Who is seeking to kill you?” (Mat 11:18; Mar 3:22; Luk 7:33; Yu 8:48; Yu 8:52; Yu 10:20) 21 Jesus answered them, “I did one work, and you all marvel at it. (Yu 5:2; Yu 7:23) 22 Moses gave you circumcision (not that it is from Moses, but from the fathers), and you circumcise a man on the Sabbath. (Yar 17:10; Lev 12:3) 23 If on the Sabbath a man receives circumcision, so that the law of Moses may not be broken, are you angry with me because on the Sabbath I made a man’s whole body well? (Mat 12:2; Yu 5:16) 24 Do not judge by appearances, but judge with right judgment.” (Yas 1:16; Yşa 11:3; Yu 8:15; 2 Ko 10:7) 



25 Some of the people of Jerusalem therefore said, “Is not this the man whom they seek to kill? (Yu 7:1) 26 And here he is, speaking openly, and they say nothing to him! Can it be that the authorities really know that this is the Christ? (Yu 7:48; Yu 18:20) 27 But we know where this man comes from, and when the Christ appears, no one will know where he comes from.” (Yu 6:42; Yu 7:42; Yu 8:14; Yu 8:19; Yu 9:29; Yu 19:9) 28 So Jesus proclaimed, as he taught in the temple, “You know me, and you know where I come from. But I have not come of my own accord. He who sent me is true, and him you do not know. (Yu 4:22; Yu 5:43; Yu 7:14; Yu 7:27; Yu 8:19; Yu 8:26; Yu 8:42; Yu 8:55; Yu 15:21) 29 I know him, for I come from him, and he sent me.” (Mat 11:27; Yu 1:14; Yu 3:17; Yu 6:46; Yu 8:55; Yu 9:16; Yu 9:33) 30 So they were seeking to arrest him, but no one laid a hand on him, because his hour had not yet come. (Mat 21:46; Yu 7:6; Yu 7:44; Yu 8:20; Yu 10:39) 31 Yet many of the people believed in him. They said, “When the Christ appears, will he do more signs than this man has done?” (Mat 12:23; Mat 21:11; Yu 2:23; Yu 8:30; Yu 10:42; Yu 11:45; Yu 12:11; Yu 12:42) 



32 The Pharisees heard the crowd muttering these things about him, and the chief priests and Pharisees sent officers to arrest him. (Yu 7:12; Yu 7:45) 33 Jesus then said, “I will be with you a little longer, and then I am going to him who sent me. (Yu 12:35; Yu 13:33; Yu 14:19; Yu 16:5; Yu 16:16) 34 You will seek me and you will not find me. Where I am you cannot come.” (Yu 8:21; Yu 13:33) 35 The Jews said to one another, “Where does this man intend to go that we will not find him? Does he intend to go to the Dispersion among the Greeks and teach the Greeks? (Yşa 11:12; Sef 3:10; Yu 8:22; Yu 12:20; Yak 1:1; 1 Pe 1:1) 36 What does he mean by saying, ‘You will seek me and you will not find me,’ and, ‘Where I am you cannot come’?” (Yu 7:34) 



37 On the last day of the feast, the great day, Jesus stood up and cried out, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. (Lev 23:36; Say 29:35; Neh 8:18; Yşa 55:1; Yu 4:14; Yu 6:35) 38 Whoever believes in me, as[6] the Scripture has said, ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.’” (Özd 18:4; Yşa 12:3; Hez 47:1; Yu 4:10; Yu 4:14) 39 Now this he said about the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were to receive, for as yet the Spirit had not been given, because Jesus was not yet glorified. 40 When they heard these words, some of the people said, “This really is the Prophet.” (Mat 21:11; Yu 1:21; Yu 6:14; Yu 7:31) 41 Others said, “This is the Christ.” But some said, “Is the Christ to come from Galilee? (Yu 1:46; Yu 7:26; Yu 7:52) 42 Has not the Scripture said that the Christ comes from the offspring of David, and comes from Bethlehem, the village where David was?” (1 Sa 16:1; Mez 89:3; Mik 5:2; Mat 1:1; Mat 2:1; Mat 2:5; Luk 2:4) 43 So there was a division among the people over him. (Yu 7:12; Yu 9:16; Yu 10:19) 44 Some of them wanted to arrest him, but no one laid hands on him. (Yu 7:30) 45 The officers then came to the chief priests and Pharisees, who said to them, “Why did you not bring him?” (Yu 7:32) 46 The officers answered, “No one ever spoke like this man!” (Mat 7:29) 47 The Pharisees answered them, “Have you also been deceived? (Yu 7:12) 48 Have any of the authorities or the Pharisees believed in him? (Yu 12:42; 1 Ko 1:20; 1 Ko 1:26; 1 Ko 2:8) 49 But this crowd that does not know the law is accursed.” 50 Nicodemus, who had gone to him before, and who was one of them, said to them, (Yu 3:1; Yu 19:39) 51 “Does our law judge a man without first giving him a hearing and learning what he does?” (Yas 1:16; Yas 17:6; Yas 19:15; Özd 18:13; Elç 23:3) 52 They replied, “Are you from Galilee too?
