1 İsa göl kıyısında halka yine öğretmeye başladı. Çevresinde çok büyük bir kalabalık toplandı. Bu yüzden İsa göldeki bir tekneye binip oturdu. Bütün kalabalık göl kıyısında duruyordu. 2-3 İsa onlara benzetmelerle birçok şey öğretiyordu. Öğretirken, ‹‹Şunu dinleyin›› dedi. ‹‹Ekincinin biri tohum ekmeye çıktı. 4 Ektiği tohumlardan kimi yol kenarına düştü. Kuşlar gelip bunları yedi. 5 Kimi, toprağı az kayalık yerlere düştü. Toprak derin olmadığından hemen filizlendi. 6 Ne var ki, güneş doğunca kavruldular, kök salamadıkları için kuruyup gittiler. 7 Kimi, dikenler arasına düştü. Dikenler büyüdü, filizleri boğdu ve filizler ürün vermedi. 8 Kimi ise iyi toprağa düştü, büyüyüp çoğaldı, ürün verdi. Bazısı otuz, bazısı altmış, bazısı da yüz kat ürün verdi.›› 9 Sonra İsa şunu ekledi: ‹‹İşitecek kulağı olan işitsin!›› 



10 Onikiler'le öbür izleyicileri İsa'yla yalnız kalınca, kendisinden benzetmelerin anlamını sordular. (Mat 13:10; Luk 8:9) 11 O da onlara şöyle dedi: ‹‹Tanrı'nın Egemenliği'nin sırrı sizlere açıklandı, ama dışarıda olanlara her şey benzetmelerle anlatılır. 12 Öyle ki, ‹Bakıp bakıp görmesinler, Duyup duyup anlamasınlar da, Dönüp bağışlanmasınlar.› ›› 



13 İsa sonra onlara, ‹‹Siz bu benzetmeyi anlamıyor musunuz?›› dedi. ‹‹Öyleyse bütün benzetmeleri nasıl anlayacaksınız? (Mat 13:18; Luk 8:11) 14 Ekincinin ektiği, Tanrı sözüdür. 15 Bazı insanlar sözün ekildiği yerde yol kenarına düşen tohumlara benzer. Bunlar sözü işitir işitmez, Şeytan gelir, yüreklerine ekilen sözü alır götürür. 16-17 Kayalık yerlere ekilenler ise, işittikleri sözü hemen sevinçle kabul eden, ama kök salamadıkları için ancak bir süre dayanan kişilerdir. Böyleleri Tanrı sözünden ötürü sıkıntı ya da zulme uğrayınca hemen sendeleyip düşerler. 18-19 Yine bazıları dikenler arasında ekilen tohumlara benzerler. Bunlar sözü işitirler, ama dünyasal kaygılar, zenginliğin aldatıcılığı ve daha başka hevesler araya girip sözü boğar ve ürün vermesini engeller. 20 İyi toprağa ekilenler ise, sözü işiten, onu benimseyen, kimi otuz, kimi altmış, kimi de yüz kat ürün veren kişilerdir.›› 



21 Onlara, ‹‹Kandili, tahıl ölçeğinin ya da yatağın altına koymak için mi getirirler?›› dedi. ‹‹Kandilliğe koymak için değil mi? (Luk 8:16) 22 Gizli olan ne varsa, açığa çıkarılmak üzere gizlenmiştir; saklı olan ne varsa, aydınlığa çıkmak üzere saklanmıştır. 23 İşitecek kulağı olan işitsin!›› 24 İsa şöyle devam etti: ‹‹İşittiklerinize dikkat edin! Hangi ölçekle verirseniz, aynı ölçekle alacaksınız. Hatta size daha fazlası verilecek. 25 Çünkü kimde varsa, ona daha çok verilecek. Ama kimde yoksa, elindeki de alınacak.›› 



26 Sonra İsa şöyle dedi: ‹‹Tanrı'nın Egemenliği, toprağa tohum saçan adama benzer. 27 Gece olur, uyur; gündüz olur, kalkar. Kendisi nasıl olduğunu bilmez ama, tohum filizlenir, gelişir. 28 Toprak kendiliğinden ürün verir. Önce filizi, sonra başağı, sonunda da başağı dolduran taneleri verir. 29 Ürün olgunlaşınca, adam hemen orağı vurur. Çünkü biçim vakti gelmiştir.›› 



30 İsa sonra şöyle dedi: ‹‹Tanrı'nın Egemenliği'ni neye benzetelim, nasıl bir benzetmeyle anlatalım? (Mat 13:31; Luk 13:18) 31-32 Tanrı'nın Egemenliği, hardal tanesine benzer. Hardal, yeryüzünde toprağa ekilen tohumların en küçüğü olmakla birlikte, ekildikten sonra gelişir, bütün bahçe bitkilerinin boyunu aşar. Öylesine dal budak salar ki, kuşlar gölgesinde barınabilir.›› 33 İsa, Tanrı sözünü, buna benzer birçok benzetmeyle halkın anlayabildiği ölçüde anlatırdı. (Mat 13:1; Luk 8:4) 34 Benzetme kullanmadan onlara hiçbir şey anlatmazdı. Ama kendi öğrencileriyle yalnız kaldığında, onlara her şeyi açıklardı. 



35 O gün akşam olunca öğrencilerine, ‹‹Karşı yakaya geçelim›› dedi. (Mat 8:23; Luk 8:22) 36 Öğrenciler kalabalığı geride bırakarak İsa'yı, içinde bulunduğu tekneyle götürdüler. Yanında başka tekneler de vardı. 37 Bu sırada büyük bir fırtına koptu. Dalgalar tekneye öyle bindirdi ki, tekne neredeyse suyla dolmuştu. 38 İsa, teknenin kıç tarafında bir yastığa yaslanmış uyuyordu. Öğrenciler O'nu uyandırıp, ‹‹Öğretmenimiz, öleceğiz! Hiç aldırmıyor musun?›› dediler. 39 İsa kalkıp rüzgarı azarladı, göle, ‹‹Sus, sakin ol!›› dedi. Rüzgar dindi, ortalık sütliman oldu. 40 İsa öğrencilerine, ‹‹Neden korkuyorsunuz? Hâlâ imanınız yok mu?›› dedi. 41 Onlar ise büyük korku içinde birbirlerine, ‹‹Bu adam kim ki, rüzgar da göl de O'nun sözünü dinliyor?›› dediler.

1 Again he began to teach beside the sea. And a very large crowd gathered about him, so that he got into a boat and sat in it on the sea, and the whole crowd was beside the sea on the land. (Mat 13:1; Mar 3:9; Luk 5:1; Luk 8:4) 2 And he was teaching them many things in parables, and in his teaching he said to them: (Mar 4:33) 3 “Listen! Behold, a sower went out to sow. (Yşa 55:10; Amo 9:13) 4 And as he sowed, some seed fell along the path, and the birds came and devoured it. 5 Other seed fell on rocky ground, where it did not have much soil, and immediately it sprang up, since it had no depth of soil. 6 And when the sun rose, it was scorched, and since it had no root, it withered away. (Yu 15:6; Yak 1:11) 7 Other seed fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up and choked it, and it yielded no grain. (Yer 4:3) 8 And other seeds fell into good soil and produced grain, growing up and increasing and yielding thirtyfold and sixtyfold and a hundredfold.” (Yar 26:12; Mar 4:20) 9 And he said, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear.” (Mat 11:15) 



10 And when he was alone, those around him with the twelve asked him about the parables. (Mar 4:34) 11 And he said to them, “To you has been given the secret of the kingdom of God, but for those outside everything is in parables, (Mat 11:25; Mat 19:11; Rom 16:25; 1 Ko 2:6; 1 Ko 5:12; Kol 1:27; Kol 4:5; 1 Se 4:12; 1 Ti 3:7; 1 Yu 2:20; 1 Yu 2:27) 12 so that “‘they may indeed see but not perceive, and may indeed hear but not understand, lest they should turn and be forgiven.’” (Yas 29:4; Yşa 6:9; Yşa 42:19; Yer 5:21; Hez 12:2; Luk 22:32; Rom 11:8; 2 Ko 3:14; 2 Ko 4:4) 13 And he said to them, “Do you not understand this parable? How then will you understand all the parables? (Mat 13:18; Luk 8:11) 14 The sower sows the word. (Mat 13:37; Mar 2:2; Mar 4:33; Luk 1:2; Yu 4:36; Elç 8:4; Yak 1:21) 15 And these are the ones along the path, where the word is sown: when they hear, Satan immediately comes and takes away the word that is sown in them. 16 And these are the ones sown on rocky ground: the ones who, when they hear the word, immediately receive it with joy. (Yşa 58:2; Hez 33:31; Mar 6:20; Yu 5:35) 17 And they have no root in themselves, but endure for a while; then, when tribulation or persecution arises on account of the word, immediately they fall away.[1] (Hoş 6:4; Mat 11:6; Gal 1:6; Gal 5:7) 18 And others are the ones sown among thorns. They are those who hear the word, 19 but the cares of the world and the deceitfulness of riches and the desires for other things enter in and choke the word, and it proves unfruitful. (Mat 6:25; Mat 19:23; Mar 10:23; Elç 5:1; 1 Ti 6:9; 1 Ti 6:17; 2 Ti 4:10; İbr 3:13) 20 But those that were sown on the good soil are the ones who hear the word and accept it and bear fruit, thirtyfold and sixtyfold and a hundredfold.” (Hoş 14:8; Mar 4:8; Yu 15:5; Yu 15:16; Flp 1:11; Kol 1:6) 



21 And he said to them, “Is a lamp brought in to be put under a basket, or under a bed, and not on a stand? (Mat 5:15; Luk 8:16; Luk 11:33) 22 For nothing is hidden except to be made manifest; nor is anything secret except to come to light. (Mat 10:26; Luk 12:2; 1 Ti 5:25) 23 If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear.” (Mar 4:9) 24 And he said to them, “Pay attention to what you hear: with the measure you use, it will be measured to you, and still more will be added to you. (Mat 7:2; Luk 6:38) 25 For to the one who has, more will be given, and from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away.” (Mat 13:12) 



26 And he said, “The kingdom of God is as if a man should scatter seed on the ground. (Mat 13:24) 27 He sleeps and rises night and day, and the seed sprouts and grows; he knows not how. (Vai 11:5) 28 The earth produces by itself, first the blade, then the ear, then the full grain in the ear. 29 But when the grain is ripe, at once he puts in the sickle, because the harvest has come.” (Yoe 3:13; Va 14:15) 



30 And he said, “With what can we compare the kingdom of God, or what parable shall we use for it? (Mat 13:31; Luk 13:18) 31 It is like a grain of mustard seed, which, when sown on the ground, is the smallest of all the seeds on earth, (Mat 17:20; Luk 17:6) 32 yet when it is sown it grows up and becomes larger than all the garden plants and puts out large branches, so that the birds of the air can make nests in its shade.” 33 With many such parables he spoke the word to them, as they were able to hear it. (Mat 13:34; Mar 4:14; Yu 16:12; 1 Ko 3:2; İbr 5:12) 34 He did not speak to them without a parable, but privately to his own disciples he explained everything. (Mar 4:10; Mar 13:3; Yu 16:25; 2 Pe 1:20) 



35 On that day, when evening had come, he said to them, “Let us go across to the other side.” (Mat 8:18; Mat 8:23; Luk 8:22; Yu 6:16) 36 And leaving the crowd, they took him with them in the boat, just as he was. And other boats were with him. 37 And a great windstorm arose, and the waves were breaking into the boat, so that the boat was already filling. (Elç 27:14) 38 But he was in the stern, asleep on the cushion. And they woke him and said to him, “Teacher, do you not care that we are perishing?” 39 And he awoke and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, “Peace! Be still!” And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. (Eyü 38:11; Mez 65:7; Mez 104:7; Mat 14:32; Mar 6:51; Luk 4:39) 40 He said to them, “Why are you so afraid? Have you still no faith?” (Yu 14:27) 41 And they were filled with great fear and said to one another, “Who then is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?” (Mar 1:27; Luk 5:9)
