1 Fısıh ve Mayasız Ekmek Bayramı'na iki gün kalmıştı. Başkâhinlerle din bilginleri İsa'yı hileyle tutuklayıp öldürmenin bir yolunu arıyorlardı. (Mat 24:1; Luk 21:5) 2 ‹‹Bayramda olmasın, yoksa halk arasında kargaşalık çıkar›› diyorlardı. 3 İsa Beytanya'da cüzamlı Simun'un evinde sofrada otururken yanına bir kadın geldi. Kadın kaymaktaşından bir kap içinde çok değerli, saf hintsümbülü yağı getirmişti. Kabı kırarak yağı O'nun başına döktü. 4-5 Bazıları buna kızdılar; birbirlerine, ‹‹Bu yağ niçin böyle boş yere harcandı? Üç yüz dinardan fazlaya satılabilir, parası yoksullara verilebilirdi›› diyerek kadını azarlamaya başladılar. 6 ‹‹Kadını rahat bırakın›› dedi İsa. ‹‹Neden üzüyorsunuz onu? Benim için güzel bir şey yaptı. 7 Yoksullar her zaman aranızdadır, dilediğiniz anda onlara yardım edebilirsiniz; ama ben her zaman aranızda olmayacağım. 8 Kadın elinden geleni yaptı, beni gömülmeye hazırlamak üzere daha şimdiden bedenimi yağladı. 9 Size doğrusunu söyleyeyim, Müjde dünyanın neresinde duyurulursa, bu kadının yaptığı da onun anılması için anlatılacak.›› 10 Bu arada Onikiler'den biri olan Yahuda İskariot, İsa'yı ele vermek amacıyla başkâhinlerin yanına gitti. 11 Onlar bunu işitince sevindiler, Yahuda'ya para vermeyi vaat ettiler. 12 Fısıh kurbanının kesildiği Mayasız Ekmek Bayramı'nın ilk günü öğrencileri İsa'ya, ‹‹Fısıh yemeğini yemen için nereye gidip hazırlık yapmamızı istersin?›› diye sordular. (Mat 26:17; Luk 22:7; Yu 13:21) 13 O da öğrencilerinden ikisini şu sözlerle önden gönderdi: ‹‹Kente gidin, orada su testisi taşıyan bir adam çıkacak karşınıza. Onu izleyin. 14 Adamın gideceği evin sahibine şöyle deyin: ‹Öğretmen, öğrencilerimle birlikte Fısıh yemeğini yiyeceğim konuk odası nerede? diye soruyor.› 15 Ev sahibi size üst katta döşenmiş, hazır büyük bir oda gösterecek. Orada bizim için hazırlık yapın.›› 16 Öğrenciler yola çıkıp kente gittiler. Her şeyi, İsa'nın kendilerine söylediği gibi buldular ve Fısıh yemeği için hazırlık yaptılar. 17 Akşam olunca İsa Onikiler'le birlikte geldi. 18 Sofraya oturmuş yemek yerlerken İsa, ‹‹Size doğrusunu söyleyeyim›› dedi, ‹‹Sizden biri, benimle yemek yiyen biri bana ihanet edecek.›› 19 Onlar da kederlenerek birer birer kendisine, ‹‹Beni demek istemedin ya?›› diye sormaya başladılar. 20 İsa onlara, ‹‹Onikiler'den biridir, ekmeğini benimle birlikte sahana batırandır›› dedi. 21 ‹‹Evet, İnsanoğlu kendisi için yazılmış olduğu gibi gidiyor, ama İnsanoğlu'na ihanet edenin vay haline! O adam hiç doğmamış olsaydı, kendisi için daha iyi olurdu.›› 22 İsa yemek sırasında eline ekmek aldı, şükredip ekmeği böldü ve, ‹‹Alın, bu benim bedenimdir›› diyerek öğrencilerine verdi. 23 Sonra bir kâse alıp şükretti ve bunu öğrencilerine verdi. Hepsi bundan içti. 24 ‹‹Bu benim kanım›› dedi İsa, ‹‹Birçokları uğruna akıtılan antlaşma kanıdır. 25 Size doğrusunu söyleyeyim, Tanrı'nın Egemenliği'nde tazesini içeceğim o güne dek, asmanın ürününden bir daha içmeyeceğim.›› 26 İlahi söyledikten sonra dışarı çıkıp Zeytin Dağı'na doğru gittiler. 



27 Bu arada İsa öğrencilerine, ‹‹Hepiniz sendeleyip düşeceksiniz›› dedi. ‹‹Çünkü şöyle yazılmıştır: ‹Çobanı vuracağım, Koyunlar darmadağın olacak.› (Mat 26:31; Luk 22:31; Yu 13:36) 28 Ama ben dirildikten sonra sizden önce Celile'ye gideceğim.›› 29 Petrus O'na, ‹‹Herkes sendeleyip düşse bile ben düşmem›› dedi. 30 ‹‹Sana doğrusunu söyleyeyim›› dedi İsa, ‹‹Bugün, bu gece, horoz iki kez ötmeden sen beni üç kez inkâr edeceksin.›› 31 Ama Petrus üsteleyerek, ‹‹Seninle birlikte ölmem gerekse bile seni asla inkâr etmem›› dedi. Öğrencilerin hepsi de aynı şeyi söyledi. 



32 Sonra Getsemani denilen yere geldiler. İsa öğrencilerine, ‹‹Ben dua ederken siz burada oturun›› dedi. (Mat 26:36; Luk 22:39) 33 Petrus'u, Yakup'u ve Yuhanna'yı yanına aldı. Hüzünlenmeye ve ağır bir sıkıntı duymaya başlamıştı. 34 Onlara, ‹‹Ölesiye kederliyim›› dedi. ‹‹Burada kalın, uyanık durun.›› 35 Biraz ilerledi, yüzüstü yere kapanıp dua etmeye başladı. ‹‹Mümkünse o saati yaşamayayım›› dedi. 36 ‹‹Abba, Baba, senin için her şey mümkün, bu kâseyi benden uzaklaştır. Ama benim değil, senin istediğin olsun.›› 37 Öğrencilerinin yanına döndüğünde onları uyumuş buldu. Petrus'a, ‹‹Simun›› dedi, ‹‹Uyuyor musun? Bir saat uyanık kalamadın mı? (Mat 26:1; Luk 22:1; Yu 11:45) 38 Uyanık durup dua edin ki, ayartılmayasınız. Ruh isteklidir, ama beden güçsüzdür.›› 39 Yine uzaklaştı, aynı sözleri tekrarlayarak dua etti. 40 Geri geldiğinde öğrencilerini yine uyumuş buldu. Onların göz kapaklarına ağırlık çökmüştü. İsa'ya ne diyeceklerini bilemiyorlardı. 41 İsa üçüncü kez yanlarına döndü, ‹‹Hâlâ uyuyor, dinleniyor musunuz?›› dedi. ‹‹Yeter! Saat geldi. İşte İnsanoğlu günahkârların eline veriliyor. 42 Kalkın, gidelim. İşte bana ihanet eden geldi!›› 



43 Tam o anda, İsa daha konuşurken, Onikiler'den biri olan Yahuda çıkageldi. Yanında başkâhinler, din bilginleri ve ileri gelenler tarafından gönderilmiş kılıçlı sopalı bir kalabalık vardı. (Mat 26:47; Luk 22:47; Yu 18:3) 44 İsa'ya ihanet eden Yahuda, ‹‹Kimi öpersem, İsa O'dur. O'nu tutuklayın, güvenlik altına alıp götürün›› diye onlarla sözleşmişti. 45 Gelir gelmez İsa'ya yaklaştı, ‹‹Rabbî›› diyerek O'nu öptü. 46 Onlar da İsa'yı yakalayıp tutukladılar. 47 İsa'nın yanında bulunanlardan biri kılıcını çekti, başkâhinin kölesine vurup kulağını uçurdu. 48 İsa onlara, ‹‹Niçin bir haydutmuşum gibi beni kılıç ve sopalarla yakalamaya geldiniz?›› dedi. 49 ‹‹Her gün tapınakta, yanıbaşınızda öğretiyordum, beni tutuklamadınız. Ama bu, Kutsal Yazılar yerine gelsin diye oldu.›› 50 O zaman öğrencilerinin hepsi O'nu bırakıp kaçtı. 51 İsa'nın ardından sadece keten beze sarınmış bir genç gidiyordu. Bu genç de yakalandı. 52 Ama keten bezden sıyrılıp çıplak olarak kaçtı. 



53 İsa'yı görevli başkâhine götürdüler. Bütün başkâhinler, ileri gelenler ve din bilginleri de orada toplandı. (Mat 26:57; Luk 22:54; Yu 18:13) 54 Petrus, İsa'yı başkâhinin avlusunun içine kadar uzaktan izledi. Avluda nöbetçilerle birlikte ateşin başında oturup ısınmaya başladı. 55 Başkâhinler ve Yüksek Kurul'un öteki üyeleri, İsa'yı ölüm cezasına çarptırmak için kendisine karşı tanık arıyor, ama bulamıyorlardı. 56 Birçok kişi O'na karşı yalan yere tanıklık ettiyse de, tanıklıkları birbirini tutmadı. 57-58 Bazıları kalkıp O'na karşı yalan yere şöyle tanıklık ettiler: ‹‹Biz O'nun, ‹Elle yapılmış bu tapınağı yıkacağım ve üç günde, elle yapılmamış başka bir tapınak kuracağım› dediğini işittik.›› 59 Ama bu noktada bile tanıklıkları birbirini tutmadı. 60 Sonra başkâhin topluluğun ortasında ayağa kalkarak İsa'ya, ‹‹Hiç yanıt vermeyecek misin? Nedir bunların sana karşı ettiği bu tanıklıklar?›› diye sordu. 61 Ne var ki, İsa susmaya devam etti, hiç yanıt vermedi. Başkâhin O'na yeniden, ‹‹Yüce Olan'ın Oğlu Mesih sen misin?›› diye sordu. 62 İsa, ‹‹Benim›› dedi. ‹‹Ve sizler, İnsanoğlu'nun Kudretli Olan'ın sağında oturduğunu ve göğün bulutlarıyla geldiğini göreceksiniz.›› 63-64 Başkâhin giysilerini yırtarak, ‹‹Artık tanıklara ne ihtiyacımız var?›› dedi. ‹‹Küfürü işittiniz. Buna ne diyorsunuz?›› Hepsi İsa'nın ölüm cezasını hak ettiğine karar verdiler. 65 Bazıları O'nun üzerine tükürmeye, gözlerini bağlayarak O'nu yumruklamaya başladılar. ‹‹Haydi, peygamberliğini göster!›› diyorlardı. Nöbetçiler de O'nu aralarına alıp tokatladılar. 



66-67 Petrus aşağıda, avludayken, başkâhinin hizmetçi kızlarından biri geldi. Isınmakta olan Petrus'u görünce onu dikkatle süzüp, ‹‹Sen de Nasıralı İsa'yla birlikteydin›› dedi. (Mat 26:69; Luk 22:56; Yu 18:15) 68 Petrus ise bunu inkâr ederek, ‹‹Senin neden söz ettiğini bilmiyorum, anlamıyorum›› dedi ve dışarıya, dış kapının önüne çıktı. Bu arada horoz öttü. 69 Hizmetçi kız Petrus'u görünce çevrede duranlara yine, ‹‹Bu adam onlardan biri›› demeye başladı. 70 Petrus tekrar inkâr etti. Çevrede duranlar az sonra Petrus'a yine, ‹‹Gerçekten onlardansın; sen de Celileli'sin›› dediler. 71 Petrus kendine lanet okuyup ant içerek, ‹‹Sözünü ettiğiniz o adamı tanımıyorum›› dedi. 72 Tam o anda horoz ikinci kez öttü. Petrus, İsa'nın kendisine, ‹‹Horoz iki kez ötmeden beni üç kez inkâr edeceksin›› dediğini hatırladı ve hüngür hüngür ağlamaya başladı.

1 It was now two days before the Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread. And the chief priests and the scribes were seeking how to arrest him by stealth and kill him, (Mat 21:46; Mat 26:2; Luk 22:1; Yu 6:4; Yu 11:53) 2 for they said, “Not during the feast, lest there be an uproar from the people.” (Mat 27:24) 



3 And while he was at Bethany in the house of Simon the leper,[1] as he was reclining at table, a woman came with an alabaster flask of ointment of pure nard, very costly, and she broke the flask and poured it over his head. (Mat 21:17; Mat 26:6; Luk 7:37; Yu 11:18; Yu 12:1) 4 There were some who said to themselves indignantly, “Why was the ointment wasted like that? 5 For this ointment could have been sold for more than three hundred denarii[2] and given to the poor.” And they scolded her. (Yu 11:33; Yu 11:38; Yu 13:29) 6 But Jesus said, “Leave her alone. Why do you trouble her? She has done a beautiful thing to me. 7 For you always have the poor with you, and whenever you want, you can do good for them. But you will not always have me. (Yas 15:11; Mar 2:20; Yu 7:33; 2 Ko 9:7) 8 She has done what she could; she has anointed my body beforehand for burial. (Mar 12:43; Luk 21:3; Yu 19:40; 2 Ko 8:12) 9 And truly, I say to you, wherever the gospel is proclaimed in the whole world, what she has done will be told in memory of her.” (Mat 24:14; Elç 10:4) 



10 Then Judas Iscariot, who was one of the twelve, went to the chief priests in order to betray him to them. (Mat 26:14; Mat 27:3; Mar 3:19; Luk 22:3; Yu 6:71; Yu 12:4; Yu 13:2; Yu 13:27; Yu 13:30; Elç 1:16) 11 And when they heard it, they were glad and promised to give him money. And he sought an opportunity to betray him. (Mat 20:18) 



12 And on the first day of Unleavened Bread, when they sacrificed the Passover lamb, his disciples said to him, “Where will you have us go and prepare for you to eat the Passover?” (Çık 12:18; Mat 26:17; Luk 22:7; 1 Ko 5:7) 13 And he sent two of his disciples and said to them, “Go into the city, and a man carrying a jar of water will meet you. Follow him, (Mar 11:1) 14 and wherever he enters, say to the master of the house, ‘The Teacher says, Where is my guest room, where I may eat the Passover with my disciples?’ (Luk 2:7; Yu 11:28) 15 And he will show you a large upper room furnished and ready; there prepare for us.” (Elç 1:13) 16 And the disciples set out and went to the city and found it just as he had told them, and they prepared the Passover. 17 And when it was evening, he came with the twelve. (Mat 26:20; Luk 22:14; Luk 22:21; Yu 13:21) 18 And as they were reclining at table and eating, Jesus said, “Truly, I say to you, one of you will betray me, one who is eating with me.” (Mez 41:9; Yu 6:70; Yu 13:18) 19 They began to be sorrowful and to say to him one after another, “Is it I?” 20 He said to them, “It is one of the twelve, one who is dipping bread into the dish with me. (Mar 14:10; Mar 14:18) 21 For the Son of Man goes as it is written of him, but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would have been better for that man if he had not been born.” (Mat 18:7; Mar 9:12; Mar 14:49; Luk 18:31; Luk 24:25; Luk 24:27; Luk 24:46; Yu 17:12; Elç 17:2; Elç 26:22; 1 Ko 15:3; 1 Pe 1:10) 



22 And as they were eating, he took bread, and after blessing it broke it and gave it to them, and said, “Take; this is my body.” (Mat 14:19; Mat 26:26; Luk 22:18; Yu 6:53; 1 Ko 10:16; 1 Ko 11:23) 23 And he took a cup, and when he had given thanks he gave it to them, and they all drank of it. (Mat 15:36) 24 And he said to them, “This is my blood of the[3] covenant, which is poured out for many. (Çık 24:8; Zek 9:11; Mat 20:28; Mar 14:22; İbr 13:20) 25 Truly, I say to you, I will not drink again of the fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it new in the kingdom of God.” 



26 And when they had sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives. (Mat 21:1; Mat 26:30; Luk 22:39; Yu 18:1) 27 And Jesus said to them, “You will all fall away, for it is written, ‘I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered.’ (Zek 13:7; Yu 16:32) 28 But after I am raised up, I will go before you to Galilee.” (Mat 28:7; Mat 28:10; Mat 28:16; Mar 16:7) 29 Peter said to him, “Even though they all fall away, I will not.” (Luk 22:31; Luk 22:33) 30 And Jesus said to him, “Truly, I tell you, this very night, before the rooster crows twice, you will deny me three times.” (Mar 14:68; Mar 14:72; Luk 22:34; Yu 13:38) 31 But he said emphatically, “If I must die with you, I will not deny you.” And they all said the same. (Yu 13:37) 



32 And they went to a place called Gethsemane. And he said to his disciples, “Sit here while I pray.” (Mat 26:36; Mar 14:26; Luk 22:40) 33 And he took with him Peter and James and John, and began to be greatly distressed and troubled. (Mat 17:23; Mar 5:37; Mar 9:2) 34 And he said to them, “My soul is very sorrowful, even to death. Remain here and watch.”[4] (Mez 42:5; Mat 24:42; Yu 12:27) 35 And going a little farther, he fell on the ground and prayed that, if it were possible, the hour might pass from him. (Mar 14:41; Luk 22:53; Yu 12:23; Yu 12:27; Yu 13:1; Yu 16:4; Yu 17:1; İbr 5:7) 36 And he said, “Abba, Father, all things are possible for you. Remove this cup from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will.” (Mat 19:26; Mar 10:38; Yu 5:30; Yu 6:38; Rom 8:15; Gal 4:6; Flp 2:8) 37 And he came and found them sleeping, and he said to Peter, “Simon, are you asleep? Could you not watch one hour? 38 Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” (Mat 6:13; Mar 14:34; 1 Pe 4:7) 39 And again he went away and prayed, saying the same words. (Mar 14:36) 40 And again he came and found them sleeping, for their eyes were very heavy, and they did not know what to answer him. (Mar 9:6; Luk 9:32; Luk 9:33) 41 And he came the third time and said to them, “Are you still sleeping and taking your rest? It is enough; the hour has come. The Son of Man is betrayed into the hands of sinners. (Mar 9:31; Mar 10:33; Mar 14:35; Luk 22:38) 42 Rise, let us be going; see, my betrayer is at hand.” 



43 And immediately, while he was still speaking, Judas came, one of the twelve, and with him a crowd with swords and clubs, from the chief priests and the scribes and the elders. (Mat 26:47; Mar 14:10; Luk 22:47; Yu 18:3; Elç 1:16) 44 Now the betrayer had given them a sign, saying, “The one I will kiss is the man. Seize him and lead him away under guard.” 45 And when he came, he went up to him at once and said, “Rabbi!” And he kissed him. (Luk 7:38; Luk 7:45; Luk 15:20; Yu 1:38; Elç 20:37) 46 And they laid hands on him and seized him. 47 But one of those who stood by drew his sword and struck the servant[5] of the high priest and cut off his ear. (Luk 22:38) 48 And Jesus said to them, “Have you come out as against a robber, with swords and clubs to capture me? 49 Day after day I was with you in the temple teaching, and you did not seize me. But let the Scriptures be fulfilled.” (Mat 1:22; Mat 4:23; Mat 21:23; Mar 14:21; Luk 2:46; Yu 8:2; Yu 18:20) 50 And they all left him and fled. (Mez 88:8; Mez 88:18; Mar 14:27; Yu 16:32) 



51 And a young man followed him, with nothing but a linen cloth about his body. And they seized him, (Hak 14:12; Özd 31:24; Mar 15:46) 52 but he left the linen cloth and ran away naked. 



53 And they led Jesus to the high priest. And all the chief priests and the elders and the scribes came together. (Mat 26:57; Luk 22:54; Yu 18:12; Yu 18:19) 54 And Peter had followed him at a distance, right into the courtyard of the high priest. And he was sitting with the guards and warming himself at the fire. (Mat 26:3; Mar 14:53; Mar 14:67; Mar 14:68; Yu 7:32; Yu 18:3; Yu 18:15; Yu 18:18) 55 Now the chief priests and the whole council[6] were seeking testimony against Jesus to put him to death, but they found none. 56 For many bore false witness against him, but their testimony did not agree. (Yas 17:6; Yas 19:15; Mez 27:12; Mez 35:11) 57 And some stood up and bore false witness against him, saying, 58 “We heard him say, ‘I will destroy this temple that is made with hands, and in three days I will build another, not made with hands.’” (Mar 15:29; Yu 2:19; Elç 6:14; Elç 7:48; Elç 17:24; 2 Ko 5:1; İbr 9:11; İbr 9:24) 59 Yet even about this their testimony did not agree. 60 And the high priest stood up in the midst and asked Jesus, “Have you no answer to make? What is it that these men testify against you?”[7] 61 But he remained silent and made no answer. Again the high priest asked him, “Are you the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?” (Yşa 53:7; Mat 1:17; Mar 8:29; Mar 15:4; Luk 22:67; Yu 19:9; Rom 1:25) 62 And Jesus said, “I am, and you will see the Son of Man seated at the right hand of Power, and coming with the clouds of heaven.” (Mez 110:1; Mat 16:27; Mat 24:30; Mar 16:19; İbr 1:3) 63 And the high priest tore his garments and said, “What further witnesses do we need? (Say 14:6; Elç 14:14) 64 You have heard his blasphemy. What is your decision?” And they all condemned him as deserving death. (Lev 24:16; Mat 9:3; Luk 23:50; Yu 10:36) 65 And some began to spit on him and to cover his face and to strike him, saying to him, “Prophesy!” And the guards received him with blows. (Est 7:8; Yşa 50:6; Mat 5:39; Mar 10:34; Mar 15:19; Luk 22:63; Elç 23:2) 



66 And as Peter was below in the courtyard, one of the servant girls of the high priest came, (Mat 26:69; Luk 22:55; Yu 18:16; Yu 18:25) 67 and seeing Peter warming himself, she looked at him and said, “You also were with the Nazarene, Jesus.” (Mar 14:54) 68 But he denied it, saying, “I neither know nor understand what you mean.” And he went out into the gateway[8] and the rooster crowed.[9] (Mar 14:30; Mar 14:72) 69 And the servant girl saw him and began again to say to the bystanders, “This man is one of them.” 70 But again he denied it. And after a little while the bystanders again said to Peter, “Certainly you are one of them, for you are a Galilean.” 71 But he began to invoke a curse on himself and to swear, “I do not know this man of whom you speak.” 72 And immediately the rooster crowed a second time. And Peter remembered how Jesus had said to him, “Before the rooster crows twice, you will deny me three times.” And he broke down and wept.[10] (Mar 14:30; Mar 14:68; Elç 3:13)
