1 İsa Eriha'ya girdi. Kentin içinden geçiyordu. 2 Orada vergi görevlilerinin başı olan, Zakkay adında zengin bir adam vardı. 3 İsa'nın kim olduğunu görmek istiyor, ama boyu kısa olduğu için kalabalıktan ötürü göremiyordu. 4 İsa'yı görebilmek için önden koşup bir yabanıl incir ağacına tırmandı. Çünkü İsa oradan geçecekti. 5 İsa oraya varınca yukarı bakıp, ‹‹Zakkay, çabuk aşağı in!›› dedi. ‹‹Bugün senin evinde kalmam gerekiyor.›› 6 Zakkay hızla aşağı indi ve sevinç içinde İsa'yı evine buyur etti. 7 Bunu görenlerin hepsi söylenmeye başladı: ‹‹Gidip günahkâr birine konuk oldu!›› dediler. 8 Zakkay ayağa kalkıp Rab'be şöyle dedi: ‹‹Ya Rab, işte malımın yarısını yoksullara veriyorum. Bir kimseden haksızlıkla bir şey aldımsa, dört katını geri vereceğim.›› 9 İsa dedi ki, ‹‹Bu ev bugün kurtuluşa kavuştu. Çünkü bu adam da İbrahim'in oğludur. 10 Nitekim İnsanoğlu, kaybolanı arayıp kurtarmak için geldi.›› 



11 Oradakiler bu sözleri dinlerken İsa konuşmasını bir benzetmeyle sürdürdü. Çünkü Yeruşalim'e yaklaşmıştı ve onlar, Tanrı'nın Egemenliği'nin hemen ortaya çıkacağını sanıyorlardı. (Mat 25:14) 12 Bu nedenle İsa şöyle dedi: ‹‹Soylu bir adam, kral atanıp dönmek üzere uzak bir ülkeye gitti. 13 Gitmeden önce kölelerinden onunu çağırıp onlara birer mina verdi. ‹Ben dönünceye dek bu paraları işletin› dedi. 14 ‹‹Ne var ki, ülkesinin halkı adamdan nefret ediyordu. Arkasından temsilciler göndererek, ‹Bu adamın üzerimize kral olmasını istemiyoruz› diye haber ilettiler. 15 ‹‹Adam kral atanmış olarak geri döndüğünde, parayı vermiş olduğu köleleri çağırtıp ne kazandıklarını öğrenmek istedi. 16 Birincisi geldi, ‹Efendimiz› dedi, ‹Senin bir minan on mina daha kazandı.› 17 ‹‹Efendisi ona, ‹Aferin, iyi köle!› dedi. ‹En küçük işte güvenilir olduğunu gösterdiğin için on kent üzerinde yetkili olacaksın.› 18 ‹‹İkincisi gelip, ‹Efendimiz, senin bir minan beş mina daha kazandı› dedi. 19 ‹‹Efendisi ona da, ‹Sen beş kent üzerinde yetkili olacaksın› dedi. 20 ‹‹Başka biri geldi, ‹Efendimiz› dedi, ‹İşte senin minan! Onu bir mendile sarıp sakladım. 21 Çünkü senden korktum, sert adamsın; kendinden koymadığını alır, ekmediğini biçersin.› 22 ‹‹Efendisi ona, ‹Ey kötü köle, seni kendi ağzından çıkan sözle yargılayacağım› dedi. ‹Kendinden koymadığını alan, ekmediğini biçen sert bir adam olduğumu bildiğine göre, 23 neden paramı faize vermedin? Ben de geldiğimde onu faiziyle geri alırdım.› 24 ‹‹Sonra çevrede duranlara, ‹Elindeki minayı alın, on minası olana verin› dedi. 25 ‹‹Ona, ‹Efendimiz› dediler, ‹Onun zaten on minası var!› 26 ‹‹O da, ‹Size şunu söyleyeyim, kimde varsa ona daha çok verilecek. Ama kimde yoksa, kendisinde olan da elinden alınacak› dedi. 27 ‹Beni kral olarak istemeyen o düşmanlarıma gelince, onları buraya getirin ve gözümün önünde kılıçtan geçirin!› ›› 



28 İsa, bu sözleri söyledikten sonra önden yürüyerek Yeruşalim'e doğru ilerledi. (Mat 21:1; Mar 11:1; Yu 12:12) 29-30 Zeytin Dağı'nın yamacındaki Beytfaci ile Beytanya'ya yaklaştığında iki öğrencisini önden gönderdi. Onlara, ‹‹Karşıdaki köye gidin›› dedi, ‹‹Köye girince, üzerine daha hiç kimsenin binmediği, bağlı duran bir sıpa bulacaksınız. Onu çözüp bana getirin. 31 Biri size, ‹Onu niçin çözüyorsunuz?› diye sorarsa, ‹Rab'bin ona ihtiyacı var› dersiniz.›› 32 Gönderilen öğrenciler gittiler, her şeyi İsa'nın kendilerine anlattığı gibi buldular. 33 Sıpayı çözerlerken hayvanın sahipleri onlara, ‹‹Sıpayı niye çözüyorsunuz?›› dediler. 34 Onlar da, ‹‹Rab'bin ona ihtiyacı var›› karşılığını verdiler. 35 Sıpayı İsa'ya getirdiler, üzerine kendi giysilerini atarak İsa'yı üstüne bindirdiler. 36 İsa ilerlerken halk, giysilerini yola seriyordu. 37 İsa Zeytin Dağı'ndan aşağı inen yola yaklaştığı sırada, öğrencilerinden oluşan kalabalığın tümü, görmüş oldukları bütün mucizelerden ötürü, sevinç içinde yüksek sesle Tanrı'yı övmeye başladılar. 38 ‹‹Rab'bin adıyla gelen Kral'a övgüler olsun! Gökte esenlik, en yücelerde yücelik olsun!›› diyorlardı. 39 Kalabalığın içinden bazı Ferisiler O'na, ‹‹Öğretmen, öğrencilerini sustur!›› dediler. 40 İsa, ‹‹Size şunu söyleyeyim, bunlar susacak olsa, taşlar bağıracaktır!›› diye karşılık verdi. 



41 İsa Yeruşalim'e yaklaşıp kenti görünce ağladı. 42 ‹‹Keşke bugün sen de esenliğe giden yolu bilseydin›› dedi. ‹‹Ama şimdilik bu senin gözlerinden gizlendi. 43 Senin için öyle günler gelecek ki, düşmanların seni setlerle çevirecek, kuşatıp her yandan sıkıştıracaklar. 44 Seni de, bağrındaki çocukları da yere çalacaklar. Sende taş üstünde taş bırakmayacaklar. Çünkü Tanrı'nın senin yardımına geldiği zamanı farketmedin.›› 



45 Sonra İsa tapınağın avlusuna girerek satıcıları dışarı kovmaya başladı. (Mat 21:12; Mar 11:15; Yu 2:12) 46 Onlara, ‹‹ ‹Evim dua evi olacak› diye yazılmıştır. Ama siz onu haydut inine çevirdiniz›› dedi. 47-48 İsa her gün tapınakta öğretiyordu. Başkâhinler, din bilginleri ve halkın ileri gelenleri ise O'nu yok etmek istiyor, ama bunu nasıl yapacaklarını bilemiyorlardı. Çünkü bütün halk O'nu can kulağıyla dinliyordu.

1 He entered Jericho and was passing through. (Mat 20:29; Mar 10:46; Luk 18:35) 2 And behold, there was a man named Zacchaeus. He was a chief tax collector and was rich. 3 And he was seeking to see who Jesus was, but on account of the crowd he could not, because he was small in stature. (Yu 12:21) 4 So he ran on ahead and climbed up into a sycamore tree to see him, for he was about to pass that way. (1 Kr 10:27; 1 Ta 27:28; Mez 78:47; Yşa 9:10) 5 And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up and said to him, “Zacchaeus, hurry and come down, for I must stay at your house today.” (Luk 13:33) 6 So he hurried and came down and received him joyfully. (Luk 10:38) 7 And when they saw it, they all grumbled, “He has gone in to be the guest of a man who is a sinner.” (Luk 15:2) 8 And Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord, “Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor. And if I have defrauded anyone of anything, I restore it fourfold.” (Çık 22:1; 2 Sa 12:6; Luk 3:14; Luk 18:22) 9 And Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, since he also is a son of Abraham. (Yu 8:33; Rom 4:11; Rom 4:16; Gal 3:7) 10 For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.” (Hez 34:11; Hez 34:16; Mat 9:13; Mat 10:6; Mat 15:24; Mat 18:12; Luk 15:4) 



11 As they heard these things, he proceeded to tell a parable, because he was near to Jerusalem, and because they supposed that the kingdom of God was to appear immediately. (Luk 17:20; Elç 1:6) 12 He said therefore, “A nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom and then return. (Mat 25:14; Mar 13:34) 13 Calling ten of his servants,[1] he gave them ten minas,[2] and said to them, ‘Engage in business until I come.’ (Mat 25:1; Yu 21:22) 14 But his citizens hated him and sent a delegation after him, saying, ‘We do not want this man to reign over us.’ (Yu 1:14) 15 When he returned, having received the kingdom, he ordered these servants to whom he had given the money to be called to him, that he might know what they had gained by doing business. 16 The first came before him, saying, ‘Lord, your mina has made ten minas more.’ 17 And he said to him, ‘Well done, good servant![3] Because you have been faithful in a very little, you shall have authority over ten cities.’ (Mat 24:47; Luk 16:10; 1 Ko 4:2; 1 Ti 3:13) 18 And the second came, saying, ‘Lord, your mina has made five minas.’ 19 And he said to him, ‘And you are to be over five cities.’ 20 Then another came, saying, ‘Lord, here is your mina, which I kept laid away in a handkerchief; (Yu 11:44; Yu 20:7; Elç 19:12) 21 for I was afraid of you, because you are a severe man. You take what you did not deposit, and reap what you did not sow.’ (1 Sa 25:3; 2 Ko 8:12) 22 He said to him, ‘I will condemn you with your own words, you wicked servant! You knew that I was a severe man, taking what I did not deposit and reaping what I did not sow? (2 Sa 1:16; Eyü 9:20; Eyü 15:6; Mat 18:32; Luk 19:21) 23 Why then did you not put my money in the bank, and at my coming I might have collected it with interest?’ 24 And he said to those who stood by, ‘Take the mina from him, and give it to the one who has the ten minas.’ 25 And they said to him, ‘Lord, he has ten minas!’ 26 ‘I tell you that to everyone who has, more will be given, but from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away. (Mat 13:12; Luk 12:48) 27 But as for these enemies of mine, who did not want me to reign over them, bring them here and slaughter them before me.’” (1 Sa 15:33; Mat 22:7; Luk 19:14; Luk 20:16) 

The Triumphal Entry



28 And when he had said these things, he went on ahead, going up to Jerusalem. (Mar 10:32; Luk 9:51; Luk 10:30) 29 When he drew near to Bethphage and Bethany, at the mount that is called Olivet, he sent two of the disciples, (Zek 9:9; Zek 14:4; Mat 21:1; Mat 21:17; Mat 24:3; Mat 26:30; Mar 11:1; Mar 14:13; Luk 24:50; Yu 8:1; Yu 11:18; Yu 12:12; Elç 1:12) 30 saying, “Go into the village in front of you, where on entering you will find a colt tied, on which no one has ever yet sat. Untie it and bring it here. (Luk 23:53) 31 If anyone asks you, ‘Why are you untying it?’ you shall say this: ‘The Lord has need of it.’” 32 So those who were sent went away and found it just as he had told them. (Luk 22:13) 33 And as they were untying the colt, its owners said to them, “Why are you untying the colt?” 34 And they said, “The Lord has need of it.” 35 And they brought it to Jesus, and throwing their cloaks on the colt, they set Jesus on it. 36 And as he rode along, they spread their cloaks on the road. (2 Kr 9:13) 37 As he was drawing near—already on the way down the Mount of Olives—the whole multitude of his disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen, (Luk 18:43; Yu 12:17) 38 saying, “Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!” (Mez 118:26; Mez 148:1; Mat 25:34; Luk 2:14; Luk 13:35; Yu 1:49) 39 And some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to him, “Teacher, rebuke your disciples.” (Mat 21:15) 40 He answered, “I tell you, if these were silent, the very stones would cry out.” (Hab 2:11) 



41 And when he drew near and saw the city, he wept over it, (Luk 13:34; Luk 23:28; Yu 11:35; İbr 5:7) 42 saying, “Would that you, even you, had known on this day the things that make for peace! But now they are hidden from your eyes. (Yas 32:29; Yu 12:40) 43 For the days will come upon you, when your enemies will set up a barricade around you and surround you and hem you in on every side (Yşa 29:3; Yşa 37:33; Yer 6:6; Hez 4:2; Hez 26:8; Luk 17:22; Luk 21:20) 44 and tear you down to the ground, you and your children within you. And they will not leave one stone upon another in you, because you did not know the time of your visitation.” (Mez 137:9; Dan 9:24; Hoş 13:16; Nah 3:10; Luk 21:6; 1 Pe 2:12) 



45 And he entered the temple and began to drive out those who sold, (Mat 21:12; Mar 11:15; Yu 2:14) 46 saying to them, “It is written, ‘My house shall be a house of prayer,’ but you have made it a den of robbers.” (Yşa 56:7; Yer 7:11) 47 And he was teaching daily in the temple. The chief priests and the scribes and the principal men of the people were seeking to destroy him, (Mat 21:46; Mat 26:55; Luk 20:1) 48 but they did not find anything they could do, for all the people were hanging on his words.
