Freundschaftsbund zwischen David und Jonathan. Sauls Eifersucht gegen David
1Und es geschah, als er aufgehört hatte mit Saul zu reden, da verband sich die Seele Jonathans mit der Seele Davids, und Jonathan gewann ihn lieb wie seine eigene Seele. (1Mo 44,30; 1Sam 19,1; 1Sam 20,17; 1Sam 20,34; 2Sam 1,26; Spr 18,24)2Und Saul nahm ihn an jenem Tag zu sich und ließ ihn nicht wieder in das Haus seines Vaters zurückkehren. (1Sam 16,21; 1Sam 17,15)3Jonathan aber und David machten einen Bund miteinander; denn er hatte ihn lieb wie seine eigene Seele. (1Sam 20,8; 1Sam 20,42; 1Sam 23,18; 2Sam 9,1; 2Sam 21,7)4Und Jonathan zog das Obergewand aus, das er anhatte, und gab es David, dazu seinen Waffenrock, sogar sein Schwert, seinen Bogen und seinen Gürtel. (1Mo 41,42)5Und David zog [zum Kampf] aus; überall, wohin Saul ihn sandte, hatte er Gelingen, sodass Saul ihn über die Kriegsleute setzte. Und er gefiel dem ganzen Volk wohl, auch den Knechten Sauls. (2Mo 15,20; Ri 11,34; Ps 147,7)7Und die Frauen sangen im Reigen und riefen: »Saul hat seine Tausende geschlagen, David aber seine Zehntausende!« (1Sam 21,12; 1Sam 29,5)8Da ergrimmte Saul sehr, und dieses Wort missfiel ihm, und er sprach: Sie haben dem David Zehntausende gegeben und mir Tausende; es fehlt ihm nur noch das Königreich! David aber spielte mit seiner Hand auf den Saiten, wie er es täglich zu tun pflegte. Und Saul hatte einen Speer in der Hand. David wird Sauls Schwiegersohn
17Und Saul sprach zu David: Siehe, meine ältere Tochter Merab, die will ich dir zur Frau geben; sei mir nur ein tapferer Held und führe die Kriege des HERRN! Denn Saul dachte: Ich selbst will nicht Hand an ihn legen, sondern die Philister sollen Hand an ihn legen! (1Sam 17,25; 1Sam 25,28; 2Sam 11,15)18David aber antwortete Saul: Wer bin ich? Und was ist meine Herkunft, das Geschlecht meines Vaters in Israel, dass ich Schwiegersohn des Königs werden soll? (2Sam 7,18; 1Chr 29,14; Ps 8,5; Ps 144,3)19Als aber die Zeit kam, dass Merab, die Tochter Sauls, dem David gegeben werden sollte, da wurde sie Adriel, dem Mecholatiter, zur Frau gegeben. (Ri 7,22; Ri 14,20)20Aber Michal, die Tochter Sauls, hatte David lieb. Als man das Saul berichtete, war die Sache recht in seinen Augen. (1Mo 29,18; 1Mo 29,20; 1Mo 34,3; 1Sam 18,28; Hos 3,1)21Und Saul sprach: Ich will sie ihm geben, damit sie ihm zum Fallstrick wird und die Hand der Philister über ihn kommt! Und Saul sprach zu David: Mit der zweiten sollst du heute mein Schwiegersohn werden! (2Mo 10,7; 2Mo 34,12; 1Sam 18,17; Ps 38,13; Spr 26,27; Spr 29,5)22Und Saul gebot seinen Knechten: Redet heimlich mit David und sprecht: Siehe, der König hat Gefallen an dir, und alle seine Knechte lieben dich; so sollst du nun Schwiegersohn des Königs werden! (Ps 36,2; Ps 55,21; Spr 29,12)23Und die Knechte Sauls redeten diese Worte vor den Ohren Davids. David aber sprach: Ist es etwa in euren Augen etwas Geringes, Schwiegersohn des Königs zu werden? Ich bin doch nur ein armer und geringer Mann! (1Sam 18,18; Ps 12,3; Ps 55,22; Spr 29,5)24Und die Knechte Sauls sagten es ihm wieder und sprachen: Solche Worte hat David geredet.25Saul sprach: So sagt zu David: Der König begehrt keine Heiratsgabe, sondern nur 100 Vorhäute von Philistern, um sich an den Feinden des Königs zu rächen! Aber Saul trachtete danach, David durch die Hand der Philister zu Fall zu bringen. (1Mo 4,15; 1Mo 34,12; 2Mo 22,16; 1Sam 14,24; 1Sam 18,17; Röm 12,19; Hebr 10,30)26Und seine Knechte sagten dem David diese Worte, und es war recht in Davids Augen, Schwiegersohn des Königs zu werden. Und noch waren die Tage nicht vollendet,27da machte sich David auf und zog mit seinen Männern hin und schlug 200 Mann unter den Philistern. Und David brachte ihre Vorhäute, und man legte sie dem König vollzählig vor, damit er Schwiegersohn des Königs werde. Da gab ihm Saul seine Tochter Michal zur Frau. (2Sam 3,14)28Und Saul sah und erkannte, dass der HERR mit David war; und Michal, Sauls Tochter, hatte ihn lieb. (1Mo 26,28; 1Sam 18,20; 1Sam 19,11)29Da fürchtete sich Saul noch mehr vor David. Und Saul wurde Davids Feind sein Leben lang. (1Sam 18,12; Ps 37,12; Spr 27,4)30Und die Fürsten der Philister zogen in den Krieg. Und es geschah, sooft sie in den Krieg zogen, hatte David mehr Gelingen als alle Knechte Sauls, sodass sein Name hoch geachtet wurde. (2Sam 7,9)

And Saul gave him Michal his daughter to wife.28And Saul saw and knew that the LORD was with David, and that Michal Saul' daughter loved him.29And Saul was yet the more afraid of David; and Saul became David' enemy continually.30Then the princes of the Philistines went forth: and it came to pass, after they went forth, that David behaved himself more wisely than all the servants of Saul; so that his name was much set by.
