Psalm 5

New International Version

For the director of music. For pipes. A psalm of David.

1 Listen to my words, Lord, consider my lament. 

2 Hear my cry for help, my King and my God, for to you I pray. 

3 In the morning, Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly. 

4 For you are not a God who is pleased with wickedness; with you, evil people are not welcome. 

5 The arrogant cannot stand in your presence. You hate all who do wrong; 

6 you destroy those who tell lies. The bloodthirsty and deceitful you, Lord, detest. 

7 But I, by your great love, can come into your house; in reverence I bow down towards your holy temple. 

8 Lead me, Lord, in your righteousness because of my enemies – make your way straight before me. 

9 Not a word from their mouth can be trusted; their heart is filled with malice. Their throat is an open grave; with their tongues they tell lies. 

10 Declare them guilty, O God! Let their intrigues be their downfall. Banish them for their many sins, for they have rebelled against you. 

11 But let all who take refuge in you be glad; let them ever sing for joy. Spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may rejoice in you. 

12 Surely, Lord, you bless the righteous; you surround them with your favour as with a shield.

1 Dem Vorsänger. Mit Flötenspiel. Ein Psalm Davids. 

2 Vernimm, o HERR, meine Worte; achte auf mein Seufzen! (Ps 140:7; Ps 141:1; 1Pe 3:12; 1Jo 5:14) 

3 Höre auf die Stimme meines Schreiens, mein König und mein Gott; denn zu dir will ich beten! (Ex 2:23; Ex 22:22; Ps 17:6; Ps 44:5; Ps 109:4; La 3:56) 

4 HERR, in der Frühe wirst du meine Stimme hören; in der Frühe werde ich dir zu Befehl sein und Ausschau halten. (Ps 55:17; Ps 123:1; Da 6:11; Hab 2:1) 

5 Denn du bist nicht ein Gott, dem Gesetzlosigkeit gefällt; wer böse ist, darf nicht bei dir wohnen. (Ps 11:7; Ps 15:1; Ps 61:5; Ps 84:5; Hab 1:13) 

6 Die Prahler bestehen nicht vor deinen Augen; du hasst alle Übeltäter. (Ps 11:5; Ps 45:8; Ps 94:2; Re 2:6) 

7 Du vertilgst die Lügner; den Blutgierigen und Falschen verabscheut der HERR. (Pr 6:16; Pr 19:5; Pr 19:9; Re 21:8; Re 21:27) 

8 Ich aber darf durch deine große Gnade eingehen in dein Haus; ich will anbeten, zu deinem heiligen Tempel gewandt, in Ehrfurcht vor dir. (2Sa 15:25; Ps 23:6; Ps 27:4; Ps 96:8) 

9 HERR, leite mich in deiner Gerechtigkeit um meiner Feinde willen; ebne deinen Weg vor mir! (Ps 17:9; Ps 23:5; Ps 25:4; Ps 64:2; Ps 139:23; Isa 26:7) 

10 Denn in ihrem Mund ist nichts Zuverlässiges; ihr Inneres ist [voll] Bosheit, ihr Rachen ein offenes Grab, mit ihren Zungen heucheln sie. (Ps 12:3; Pr 1:10; Mt 12:34; Ro 3:13) 

11 Sprich sie schuldig, o Gott, lass sie fallen durch ihre Anschläge! Verstoße sie um ihrer vielen Übertretungen willen, denn sie haben sich gegen dich empört! (Job 15:25; Ps 2:2; Ps 7:16; Pr 26:27; Ec 10:8; Ac 4:24) 

12 Aber alle werden sich freuen, die auf dich vertrauen; ewiglich werden sie jubeln, denn du wirst sie beschirmen; und fröhlich werden sein in dir, die deinen Namen lieben! (Ezr 8:22; Ps 2:12; Ps 7:18; Ps 32:7; Ps 37:3; Ps 40:5; Ps 103:1; Ps 113:1) 

13 Denn du, HERR, segnest den Gerechten; du umgibst ihn mit Gnade wie mit einem Schild. (De 23:5; Ps 32:10; Ps 84:12; Ps 115:13; Pr 2:7; Pr 3:33)
