The kingdom of righteousness

1 See, a king will reign in righteousness and rulers will rule with justice. 2 Each one will be like a shelter from the wind and a refuge from the storm, like streams of water in the desert and the shadow of a great rock in a thirsty land. 3 Then the eyes of those who see will no longer be closed, and the ears of those who hear will listen. 4 The fearful heart will know and understand, and the stammering tongue will be fluent and clear. 5 No longer will the fool be called noble nor the scoundrel be highly respected. 6 For fools speak folly, their hearts are bent on evil: they practise ungodliness and spread error concerning the Lord; the hungry they leave empty and from the thirsty they withhold water. 7 Scoundrels use wicked methods, they make up evil schemes to destroy the poor with lies, even when the plea of the needy is just. 8 But the noble make noble plans, and by noble deeds they stand.

9 You women who are so complacent, rise up and listen to me; you daughters who feel secure, hear what I have to say! 10 In little more than a year you who feel secure will tremble; the grape harvest will fail, and the harvest of fruit will not come. 11 Tremble, you complacent women; shudder, you daughters who feel secure! Strip off your fine clothes and wrap yourselves in rags. 12 Beat your breasts for the pleasant fields, for the fruitful vines 13 and for the land of my people, a land overgrown with thorns and briers – yes, mourn for all houses of merriment and for this city of revelry. 14 The fortress will be abandoned, the noisy city deserted; citadel and watchtower will become a wasteland for ever, the delight of donkeys, a pasture for flocks, 15 till the Spirit is poured on us from on high, and the desert becomes a fertile field, and the fertile field seems like a forest. 16 The Lord’s justice will dwell in the desert, his righteousness live in the fertile field. 17 The fruit of that righteousness will be peace; its effect will be quietness and confidence for ever. 18 My people will live in peaceful dwelling-places, in secure homes, in undisturbed places of rest. 19 Though hail flattens the forest and the city is levelled completely, 20 how blessed you will be, sowing your seed by every stream, and letting your cattle and donkeys range free.

پادشاه عادل

1 زمانی خواهد رسيد كه پادشاهی عادل بر تخت سلطنت خواهد نشست و رهبرانی با انصاف مملكت را اداره خواهند كرد. 2 هر يک از آنان پناهگاهی در برابر باد و طوفان خواهد بود. آنان مانند جوی آب در بيابان خشک، و مثل سايهٔ خنک يک صخرهٔ بزرگ در زمين بیآب و علف خواهند بود؛ 3 و چشم و گوش خود را نسبت به نيازهای مردم باز نگه خواهند داشت. 4 آنان بیحوصله نخواهند بود بلكه با فهم و متانت با مردم سخن خواهند گفت. 5 در آن زمان، افراد پست و خسيس ديگر سخاوتمند و نجيب خوانده نخواهند شد. 6 هر كه شخص بدكاری را ببيند، او را خواهد شناخت و كسی فريب آدمهای رياكار را نخواهد خورد؛ بر همه آشكار خواهد شد كه سخنان آنان در مورد خداوند دروغ بوده و آنان هرگز به گرسنگان كمک نكردهاند. 7 نيرنگ و چاپلوسی اشخاص شرور و دروغهايی كه آنان برای پايمال كردن حق فقيران در دادگاه میگويند، افشا خواهد گرديد. 8 اما اشخاص خوب در حق ديگران بخشنده و باگذشت خواهند بود و خدا ايشان را به خاطر كارهای خوبشان بركت خواهد داد.

9 ای زنانی كه راحت و آسوده زندگی میكنيد، به من گوش دهيد. 10 شما كه الان بیغم هستيد، سال ديگر همين موقع پریشانحال خواهيد شد، زيرا محصول انگور و ساير ميوههايتان از بين خواهد رفت. 11 ای زنان آسوده خيال، بترسيد و بلرزيد، لباسهای خود را از تن درآوريد و رخت عزا بپوشيد 12 و ماتم بگيريد، زيرا مزرعههای پر محصولتان بزودی از دست میرود و باغهای بارور انگورتان نابود میشود. 13 بلی، ای قوم من، برای خانههای شادتان و برای شهر پر افتخارتان گريه كنيد، زيرا سرزمين شما پوشيده از خار و خس خواهد شد. 14 كاخهايتان ويران و شهرهای پر جمعيتتان خالی از سكنه خواهد شد. برجهای دیدبانیتان خراب خواهد شد و حيوانات وحشی و گورخران و گوسفندان در آنجا خواهند چريد. 15 اما يكبار ديگر، خدا روح خود را از آسمان بر ما خواهد ريخت. آنگاه بيابان به بوستان تبديل خواهد شد و بوستان به جنگل. 16 در سرزمين ما عدالت و انصاف برقرار خواهد گرديد 17 و ما از صلح و آرامش و اطمينان و امينت هميشگی برخوردار خواهيم شد. 18 قوم خدا در كمال امنيت و آسايش در خانههايشان زندگی خواهند كرد، 19 اما آشوریها نابود شده، خانههايشان با خاک يكسان خواهد گرديد. 20 بلی، خدا قوم خود را بركت خواهد داد آن گونه كه به هنگام كشت زمين، محصول فراوان خواهد روييد و گلهها و رمههايشان در چراگاههای سبز و خرم خواهند چريد.
