1Praise the Lord! Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever! 105:45)2Who can utter the mighty deeds of the Lord, or declare all his praise?3Blessed are they who observe justice, who do righteousness at all times! (مز 15:2)4Remember me, O Lord, when you show favor to your people; help me when you save them,[1] (مز 119:132)5that I may look upon the prosperity of your chosen ones, that I may rejoice in the gladness of your nation, that I may glory with your inheritance. (مز 105:6; مز 105:43)6Both we and our fathers have sinned; we have committed iniquity; we have done wickedness. 9:5)7Our fathers, when they were in Egypt, did not consider your wondrous works; they did not remember the abundance of your steadfast love, but rebelled by the sea, at the Red Sea. (خر 14:11; مز 106:13; مز 106:21)8Yet he saved them for his name’s sake, that he might make known his mighty power. (خر 9:16; حز 20:9; حز 20:14)9He rebuked the Red Sea, and it became dry, and he led them through the deep as through a desert. 63:13)10So he saved them from the hand of the foe and redeemed them from the power of the enemy. (خر 14:30; مز 107:2)11And the waters covered their adversaries; not one of them was left. (خر 14:28; خر 15:5)12Then they believed his words; they sang his praise. (خر 14:31; خر 15:1)13But they soon forgot his works; they did not wait for his counsel. 107:11)14But they had a wanton craving in the wilderness, and put God to the test in the desert; 10:9)15he gave them what they asked, but sent a wasting disease among them. (مز 78:29; إش 10:16)16When men in the camp were jealous of Moses and Aaron, the holy one of the Lord, (عد 16:1; تث 33:2; زك 14:5; يه 1:14)17the earth opened and swallowed up Dathan, and covered the company of Abiram. (عد 16:31; تث 11:6)18Fire also broke out in their company; the flame burned up the wicked. (عد 16:35)19They made a calf in Horeb and worshiped a metal image. (خر 32:4; تث 9:8; أع 7:41)20They exchanged the glory of God[2] for the image of an ox that eats grass. (إر 2:11; رو 1:23)21They forgot God, their Savior, who had done great things in Egypt, (تث 32:18; مز 78:11; مز 106:7; مز 106:13)22wondrous works in the land of Ham, and awesome deeds by the Red Sea. (مز 78:51; مز 105:23; مز 105:27)23Therefore he said he would destroy them— had not Moses, his chosen one, stood in the breach before him, to turn away his wrath from destroying them. 22:30)24Then they despised the pleasant land, having no faith in his promise. (عد 14:31; تث 1:32; تث 9:23; زك 7:14)25They murmured in their tents, and did not obey the voice of the Lord. (عد 14:2; تث 1:27)26Therefore he raised his hand and swore to them that he would make them fall in the wilderness, (خر 6:8; عد 14:30; تث 32:40; مز 95:11; حز 20:6; حز 20:15; حز 20:23)27and would make their offspring fall among the nations, scattering them among the lands. (مز 44:11)28Then they yoked themselves to the Baal of Peor, and ate sacrifices offered to the dead; (عد 25:3; إش 8:19; هو 9:10)29they provoked the Lord to anger with their deeds, and a plague broke out among them.30Then Phinehas stood up and intervened, and the plague was stayed. (عد 25:7)31And that was counted to him as righteousness from generation to generation forever. (تك 15:6; عد 25:10)32They angered him at the waters of Meribah, and it went ill with Moses on their account, (عد 20:2; تث 1:37)33for they made his spirit bitter,[3] and he spoke rashly with his lips. (عد 20:10; مز 78:40; مز 107:11; إش 63:10)34They did not destroy the peoples, as the Lord commanded them, (تث 7:2; تث 7:16; قض 1:21; قض 1:27; قض 2:2)35but they mixed with the nations and learned to do as they did. (قض 3:5; عز 9:2)36They served their idols, which became a snare to them. (خر 23:33; تث 7:16; قض 2:3)37They sacrificed their sons and their daughters to the demons; (تث 32:17; 2مل 16:3; إش 57:5; حز 16:20; حز 20:26; 1كو 10:20)38they poured out innocent blood, the blood of their sons and daughters, whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan, and the land was polluted with blood. (إش 24:5)39Thus they became unclean by their acts, and played the whore in their deeds. (مز 73:27; حز 20:18; حز 20:30)40Then the anger of the Lord was kindled against his people, and he abhorred his heritage; (قض 2:14; مز 28:9; مز 78:59; مز 78:62)41he gave them into the hand of the nations, so that those who hated them ruled over them. (نح 9:27)42Their enemies oppressed them, and they were brought into subjection under their power. (قض 4:3; قض 10:12)43Many times he delivered them, but they were rebellious in their purposes and were brought low through their iniquity. (لا 26:39; قض 2:16; مز 81:12)44Nevertheless, he looked upon their distress, when he heard their cry. (قض 3:9; قض 4:3; قض 6:7; قض 10:10)45For their sake he remembered his covenant, and relented according to the abundance of his steadfast love. 3:32)46He caused them to be pitied by all those who held them captive. (1مل 8:50; 2أخ 30:9; عز 9:9; نح 1:11; إر 42:12)47Save us, O Lord our God, and gather us from among the nations, that we may give thanks to your holy name and glory in your praise. (1أخ 16:35; مز 107:3)48Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel, from everlasting to everlasting! And let all the people say, “Amen!” Praise the Lord!
