bleib nicht still, Gott, und bleib nicht ruhig!3Denn siehe, deine Feinde toben,
die dich hassen, erheben das Haupt. (Ps 35,20)4Gegen dein Volk ersinnen sie einen listigen Plan
und halten Rat gegen die, die sich bei dir bergen.5Sie sagen: Auf, wir wollen sie als Volk vernichten,
des Namens Israel werde nie mehr gedacht!6Ja, sie halten einmütig Rat,
schließen gegen dich einen Bund: (Ps 2,2)7Edoms Zelte und die Ismaeliter,
Moab und die Hagariter,8Gebal, Ammon und Amalek,
das Philisterland mit den Bewohnern von Tyrus.9Auch Assur schließt sich ihnen an
und leiht den Arm den Söhnen Lots. [Sela]10Mach es mit ihnen wie mit Midian und Sisera,
wie mit Jabin am Bach Kischon. (Ri 4,15; Ri 7,23; Jes 9,3; Jes 10,26)11Sie wurden bei En-Dor vernichtet,
wurden zum Dung für den Acker.12Behandle ihre Edlen wie Oreb und Seeb
und wie Sebach und Zalmunna all ihre Fürsten![1] (Ri 7,25; Ri 8,21)13Sie haben gesagt: Wir nehmen für uns in Besitz
die Gefilde Gottes!14Mach sie zu Distelgewirbel, mein Gott,
zu Spreu vor dem Wind! (Ps 35,5)15Wie Feuer, das Wälder verbrennt,
wie eine Flamme, die Berge versengt,16so jage sie davon mit deinem Sturm
und schrecke sie mit deinem Wetter!17Bedecke mit Schmach ihr Gesicht,
damit sie, HERR, nach deinem Namen fragen.18Beschämt und verschreckt sollen sie sein für immer,
zuschanden sollen sie werden und zugrunde gehn.19Sie sollen erkennen, dass du allein - HERR ist dein Name -

A song. A psalm of Asaph.
1O God, do not remain silent; do not turn a deaf ear, do not stand aloof, O God.2See how your enemies growl, how your foes rear their heads.3With cunning they conspire against your people; they plot against those you cherish.4‘Come,’ they say, ‘let us destroy them as a nation, so that Israel’s name is remembered no more.’5With one mind they plot together; they form an alliance against you –6the tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites, of Moab and the Hagrites,7Byblos, Ammon and Amalek, Philistia, with the people of Tyre.8Even Assyria has joined them to reinforce Lot’s descendants.[1]9Do to them as you did to Midian, as you did to Sisera and Jabin at the River Kishon,10who perished at Endor and became like dung on the ground.11Make their nobles like Oreb and Zeeb, all their princes like Zebah and Zalmunna,12who said, ‘Let us take possession of the pasture-lands of God.’13Make them like tumble-weed, my God, like chaff before the wind.14As fire consumes the forest or a flame sets the mountains ablaze,15so pursue them with your tempest and terrify them with your storm.16Cover their faces with shame, Lord, so that they will seek your name.17May they ever be ashamed and dismayed; may they perish in disgrace.18Let them know that you, whose name is the Lord – that you alone are the Most High over all the earth.
