1 Für den Chormeister. Von den Korachitern. Nach der Weise Mädchen. Ein Lied. 2 Gott ist uns Zuflucht und Stärke, als mächtig erfahren, als Helfer in allen Nöten. (Ps 37,39; Ps 61,4) 3 Darum fürchten wir uns nicht, wenn die Erde auch wankt, wenn Berge stürzen in die Tiefe des Meeres; (Hi 9,5; Ps 75,4) 4 mögen seine Wasser tosen und schäumen und vor seinem Ungestüm Berge erzittern. [Sela] 5 Eines Stromes Arme erfreuen die Gottesstadt, des Höchsten heilige Wohnung. 6 Gott ist in ihrer Mitte, sie wird nicht wanken. Gott hilft ihr, wenn der Morgen anbricht. (2Kön 19,35; Ps 90,14) 7 Völker tobten, Reiche wankten; seine Stimme erscholl, da muss die Erde schmelzen. 8 Mit uns ist der HERR der Heerscharen, der Gott Jakobs ist unsre Burg. [Sela] 9 Kommt und schaut die Taten des HERRN, der Schauder erregt auf der Erde. (Ps 66,5) 10 Er setzt den Kriegen ein Ende bis an die Grenzen der Erde. Den Bogen zerbricht er, / die Lanze zerschlägt er; Streitwagen verbrennt er im Feuer. (Ps 76,4; Jes 2,4; Hes 39,9) 11 Lasst ab und erkennt, dass ich Gott bin, erhaben über die Völker, erhaben auf Erden! (Ps 83,19) 12 Mit uns ist der HERR der Heerscharen, der Gott Jakobs ist unsre Burg. [Sela]

1 To the choirmaster. Of the Sons of Korah. According to Alamoth.[1] A Song. God is our refuge and strength, a very present[2] help in trouble. (5Mo 4,7; 1Chr 15,20; Ps 9,9; Ps 14,6; Ps 42,1; Ps 145,18) 2 Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way, though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea, (Ps 18,7; Hes 27,26) 3 though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble at its swelling. (Ps 93,3; Jer 5,22) 4 There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy habitation of the Most High. (Ps 36,8; Ps 43,3; Ps 48,1; Ps 65,9; Ps 84,1; Ps 87,3; Jes 8,6; Jes 33,21; Jes 60,14; Offb 22,1) 5 God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved; God will help her when morning dawns.
