(Ps 4:1; Ps 42:1)2HERR, du hattest Gefallen an deinem Land, die Nachkommen Jakobs hast du aus der Gefangenschaft befreit.3Du hast die Schuld deines Volkes vergeben und alle ihre Sünden zugedeckt. //[3] (Ps 3:3)4Deinen Groll hast du beendet, hast abgelassen von deinem glühenden Zorn.5Richte uns nun wieder auf[4], Gott, der uns Rettung schenkt! Setz deinem Unwillen gegen uns doch ein Ende!6Oder willst du ewig aufgebracht sein über uns? Willst du zornig auf uns sein – jetzt und in allen künftigen Generationen?7Willst du uns nicht wieder neues Leben schenken, damit dein Volk sich über dich freuen kann?8Lass uns deine Gnade erfahren, HERR, und schenke uns Rettung.9Ich will hören, was Gott, der HERR, sagt. Frieden verspricht er seinem Volk, all denen, die ihm treu sind. Nur sollen sie nicht wieder in ihre verhängnisvollen Fehler zurückfallen[5]!10Ja, nahe ist seine Rettung denen, die in Ehrfurcht vor ihm leben. Seine Herrlichkeit soll wieder Wohnung nehmen in unserem Land.11Dann begegnen einander Gnade und Wahrheit, dann küssen sich Gerechtigkeit und Friede.12Treue wird aus der Erde sprießen und Gerechtigkeit herabschauen vom Himmel.13Der HERR wird uns mit allem Guten beschenken, und unser Land wird seinen Ertrag bringen.14Gerechtigkeit wird vor unserem Gott hergehen, und er wird sie Schritt um Schritt zu seinem Weg für uns machen[6].
