Drohrede gegen die gewalttätigen Machthaber des Volkes

1 Wehe denen, die Unheil ersinnen und böse Taten auf ihren Lagern! Beim Morgenlicht führen sie es aus, weil es in der Macht ihrer Hand steht. (Hi 15,35; Ps 36,5; Ps 58,3; Jes 32,7; Hos 7,6; Sach 7,10)

2 Begehren sie Felder, sie rauben ⟨sie⟩, und Häuser, sie nehmen ⟨sie⟩ weg; und sie üben Gewalt am Mann und seinem Haus, am Menschen und seinem Erbteil. (2Mo 20,17; 1Kön 21,7; Jes 3,14; Jes 5,8; Jer 22,17; Hes 45,9; Am 4,1; Mi 6,12)

3 Darum, so spricht der HERR: Siehe, ich ersinne gegen diese Sippe Böses, aus dem ihr eure Hälse nicht ziehen und ⟨unter dem⟩ ihr nicht aufrecht gehen werdet; denn es ist eine böse Zeit. (Jes 29,20; Am 5,13) 4 An jenem Tag wird man einen Spruch über euch anstimmen und ein klägliches Klagelied klagen. Man wird sagen: Wir sind völlig verwüstet. Den Besitzanteil meines Volkes vertauscht^[1] er^[2]. Wie entzieht er mir ⟨das Land⟩^[3]! Zur Vergeltung verteilt er unsere Felder. (Jer 9,16; Hab 2,6) 5 Darum wirst du niemanden haben, der je die Messschnur an einen Losanteil anlegt in der Versammlung des HERRN. (2Kön 17,23) 6 »Weissagt nicht!«, weissagen sie^[4]. In der Art^[5] weissagt man nicht! Die Schmach wird ⟨uns⟩ nicht erreichen^[6]. (Jes 30,10; Am 2,12) 7 Darf man so etwas im Haus Jakob sagen^[7]? Ist der HERR etwa ungeduldig^[8]? Oder sind dies seine Taten? Sind seine^[9] Worte nicht gütig gegen ⟨ein Volk⟩, das rechtschaffen lebt? (Ps 18,26) 8 Aber längst ⟨schon⟩ lehnt sich mein Volk als Feind auf^[10]: Vom Oberkleid zieht ihr den Mantel denen aus, die sorglos vorübergehen, die vom Krieg zurückgekehrt sind; 9 die Frauen meines Volkes vertreibt ihr aus ihrem behaglichen Haus, von ihren Kindern nehmt ihr meine Zier^[11] für ewig. 10 Macht euch auf und geht! Denn dies ist der Ruheort nicht wegen der Verunreinigung, die Verderben bringt, und zwar schlimmes Verderben. (5Mo 12,9; Hes 36,17) 11 Wenn da ein Mann wäre, der dem Wind ⟨nach⟩läuft und betrügerisch lügt: »Ich will dir weissagen^[12] von Wein und von Rauschtrank«, der wäre ein Prophet dieses Volkes. (Jer 5,31; Kla 2,14; Mi 3,5)

Zukünftige Sammlung des Restes Israels

12 Sammeln, ⟨ja,⟩ sammeln will ich dich, ganz Jakob; versammeln, ⟨ja,⟩ versammeln werde ich den Rest Israels. Ich werde ihn zusammenbringen wie Schafe im Pferch^[13], wie eine Herde mitten auf der Trift, sodass es von Menschen tosen wird^[14]. 13 Herauf zieht der Durchbrecher vor ihnen her; sie brechen durch und durchschreiten das Tor und gehen durch es hinaus; und ihr König schreitet vor ihnen her, und der HERR an ihrer Spitze. (Jos 3,6; Jes 52,12; Hos 2,2; Mi 4,7)

People’s plans and God’s plans

1 How terrible it will be for those who plan to harm others! How terrible for those who make evil plans before they even get out of bed! As soon as daylight comes, they carry out their plans. That’s because they have the power to do it. 2 If they want fields or houses, they take them. They cheat people out of their homes. They rob them of their property. 3 So the LORD says to them, ‘I am planning to send trouble on you. You will not be able to save yourselves from it. You will not live so proudly anymore. It will be a time of trouble. 4 At that time people will make fun of you. They will tease you by singing a song of sadness. They will pretend to be you and say, “We are totally destroyed. Our enemies have divided up our land. The LORD has taken it away from us! He has given our fields to those who turned against us.” ’ 5 So you won’t even have anyone left in the LORD’s community who can divide up the land for you.

Some prophets aren’t really prophets at all

6 ‘Don’t prophesy,’ the people’s prophets say. ‘Don’t prophesy about bad things. Nothing shameful is going to happen to us.’ 7 People of Jacob, should anyone say, ‘The LORD is patient, so he wouldn’t do things like that’? The LORD replies, ‘What I promise brings good things to those who lead honest lives. 8 But lately my people have attacked one another as if they were enemies. You strip off the rich robes from those who happen to pass by. They thought they were as safe as men returning from a battle they had won. 9 You drive the women among my people out of their pleasant homes. You take away my blessing from their children for ever. 10 Get up! Leave this land! It is no longer your resting place. You have made it “unclean”. You have completely destroyed it. 11 Suppose a prophet goes around telling lies. And he prophesies that you will have plenty of wine and beer. Then that kind of prophet would be just right for this nation!

The Lord promises to save his people

12 ‘People of Jacob, I will gather all of you. I will bring together you who are still left alive in Israel. I will gather you together like sheep in a pen. You will be like a flock in its grasslands. Your country will be filled with people. 13 I will open the way for you to return. I will march in front of you. You will break through the city gates and go free. I am your King. I will pass through the gates in front of you. I, the LORD, will lead the way.’
