La Bible du Semeur



1 Au chef de chœur. Un cantique des Qoréites[1] pour voix de soprano. (Ps 42:1) 2 Dieu est pour nous un rempart, ╵il est un refuge, un secours toujours offert ╵lorsque survient la détresse. 3 Aussi, nous ne craignons rien ╵quand la terre est secouée, quand les montagnes s’effondrent, ╵basculant au fond des mers, 4 quand, grondants et bouillonnants, ╵les flots des mers se soulèvent et ébranlent les montagnes. Pause 5 Il est un cours d’eau ╵dont les bras réjouissent ╵la cité de Dieu, la demeure sainte du Très-Haut. 6 Dieu réside au milieu d’elle, ╵elle n’est pas ébranlée, car Dieu vient à son secours ╵dès le point du jour. 7 Des peuples s’agitent ╵et des royaumes s’effondrent: la voix de Dieu retentit, ╵et la terre se dissout. 8 Avec nous est l’Eternel ╵des armées célestes; nous avons pour citadelle ╵le Dieu de Jacob. Pause 9 Venez, contemplez ╵tout ce que l’Eternel fait, les ravages ╵qu’il opère sur la terre. 10 Il fait cesser les combats ╵jusqu’aux confins de la terre, l’arc, il l’a brisé ╵et il a rompu la lance, il a consumé au feu ╵tous les chars de guerre[2]. 11 « Arrêtez! dit-il, ╵reconnaissez-moi pour Dieu. Je serai glorifié par les peuples, ╵je serai glorifié sur la terre[3]. » 12 Avec nous est l’Eternel ╵des armées célestes. Nous avons pour citadelle ╵le Dieu de Jacob. Pause

1 To the choirmaster. Of the Sons of Korah. According to Alamoth.[1] A Song. God is our refuge and strength, a very present[2] help in trouble. (Dt 4:7; 1Ch 15:20; Ps 9:9; Ps 14:6; Ps 42:1; Ps 145:18) 2 Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way, though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea, (Ps 18:7; Ez 27:26) 3 though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble at its swelling. (Ps 93:3; Jr 5:22) 4 There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy habitation of the Most High. (Ps 36:8; Ps 43:3; Ps 48:1; Ps 65:9; Ps 84:1; Ps 87:3; Is 8:6; Is 33:21; Is 60:14; Ap 22:1) 5 God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved; God will help her when morning dawns. (Lv 26:12; Dt 23:14; Is 12:6; Ez 43:7; Ez 43:9; Os 11:9; Jl 2:27; So 3:15; Za 2:5; Za 2:10; Za 8:3) 6 The nations rage, the kingdoms totter; he utters his voice, the earth melts. (Ex 15:15; Jos 2:9; Jos 2:24; Ps 2:1; Ps 18:13; Ps 68:33; Ps 76:8; Jr 25:30; Jl 2:11; Jl 3:16; Am 1:2; Am 9:5) 7 The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress. (Nb 14:9; 2Ch 13:12; 2Ch 20:17; Ps 46:11) 8 Come, behold the works of the Lord, how he has brought desolations on the earth. (Ps 66:5) 9 He makes wars cease to the end of the earth; he breaks the bow and shatters the spear; he burns the chariots with fire. (1S 2:4; Ps 76:3; Is 2:4; Ez 39:9; Mi 4:3) 10 “Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!” (Ex 14:13; Is 2:11; Is 2:17; Is 33:10) 11 The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress. (Ps 46:7)
