Psaume 112

La Bible du Semeur



1 Louez l’Eternel[1]! Heureux est l’homme qui craint l’Eternel et trouve un grand plaisir ╵à ses commandements![2] (Ps 9:1; Ps 111:1) 2 Sa postérité sera forte ╵dans le pays et la génération du juste ╵sera bénie. 3 Abondance et richesse ╵règnent dans sa maison, et sa conduite juste ╵sera pour toujours prise en compte[3]. (Ps 111:3) 4 Une lumière luit ╵dans les ténèbres, ╵pour les gens droits, ceux qui font grâce, ╵qui sont compatissants et justes[4]. (Ps 111:4) 5 Il est bon qu’un homme ait de l’empathie ╵et qu’il prête à autrui, et qu’avec équité, ╵il gère ses affaires; 6 ainsi ne trébuchera-t-il jamais, et l’on se souviendra ╵du juste pour toujours. 7 Il ne craint pas ╵de mauvaises nouvelles, il a le cœur tranquille, ╵confiant en l’Eternel. 8 Plein d’assurance, ╵il est sans crainte, dans l’attente de voir ╵le sort réservé à ses ennemis. 9 Il donne aux pauvres ╵avec largesse, et sa conduite juste ╵sera pour toujours prise en compte[5]. Il peut garder la tête haute ╵et il est honoré. (2Co 9:9) 10 Le méchant le constate ╵et s’en irrite, grince des dents ╵et se démoralise. Le désir des méchants ╵n’aboutira à rien.

1 [1] Praise the Lord! Blessed is the man who fears the Lord, who greatly delights in his commandments! (Ps 1:2; Ps 104:35; Ps 111:10; Ps 115:13; Ps 128:1; Ps 128:4) 2 His offspring will be mighty in the land; the generation of the upright will be blessed. (Ps 25:13; Ps 37:26; Ps 102:28; Pr 11:21; Pr 20:7) 3 Wealth and riches are in his house, and his righteousness endures forever. (Ps 111:3; Pr 3:16) 4 Light dawns in the darkness for the upright; he is gracious, merciful, and righteous. (Jb 11:17; Ps 97:11; Mt 1:19) 5 It is well with the man who deals generously and lends; who conducts his affairs with justice. (Ps 37:26) 6 For the righteous will never be moved; he will be remembered forever. (Ps 55:22; Pr 10:7) 7 He is not afraid of bad news; his heart is firm, trusting in the Lord. (Ps 11:1; Ps 57:7; Ps 64:10; Pr 1:33) 8 His heart is steady;[2] he will not be afraid, until he looks in triumph on his adversaries. 9 He has distributed freely; he has given to the poor; his righteousness endures forever; his horn is exalted in honor. (Ps 75:10; 2Co 9:9) 10 The wicked man sees it and is angry; he gnashes his teeth and melts away; the desire of the wicked will perish! (Jb 8:13; Jb 16:9; Ps 58:8; Mt 8:12; Lc 13:28)
