English Standard Version

27 And they lodged around the house of God, for on them lay the duty of watching, and they had charge of opening it every morning. (Nu 1:53) 

New International Version

27 They would spend the night stationed round the house of God, because they had to guard it; and they had charge of the key for opening it each morning. 

New International Reader’s Version

27 They spent the night in their positions around the house of God. That’s because they had to guard it. They were in charge of the key that opened it each morning. 

King James Version

27 And they lodged round about the house of God, because the charge was upon them, and the opening thereof every morning pertained to them.
