English Standard Version

25 He was renowned among the thirty, but he did not attain to the three. And David set him over his bodyguard. 

New International Version

25 He was held in greater honour than any of the Thirty, but he was not included among the Three. And David put him in charge of his bodyguard. 

New International Reader’s Version

25 He was honoured more than any of the 30 chiefs. But he wasn’t included among the three mighty warriors. And David put him in charge of his own personal guards. 

King James Version

25 Behold, he was honourable among the thirty, but attained not to the first three: and David set him over his guard.
