The First Beast
1And I saw a beast rising out of the sea, with ten horns and seven heads, with ten diadems on its horns and blasphemous names on its heads. And to it the dragon gave his power and his throne and great authority. (Dan 7:4; Dan 7:5; Dan 7:6; Luk 4:6; Va 13:4; Va 13:11; Va 16:10)3One of its heads seemed to have a mortal wound, but its mortal wound was healed, and the whole earth marveled as they followed the beast. (Va 17:8)4And they worshiped the dragon, for he had given his authority to the beast, and they worshiped the beast, saying, “Who is like the beast, and who can fight against it?” (Va 18:18)5And the beast was given a mouth uttering haughty and blasphemous words, and it was allowed to exercise authority for forty-two months. The Second Beast

(Va 13:3)13It performs great signs, even making fire come down from heaven to earth in front of people, (Yas 13:1; 1 Kr 18:38; 2 Kr 1:10; 2 Kr 1:12; Mat 24:24; Luk 9:54; 2 Se 2:9; Va 16:14; Va 19:20; Va 20:9)14and by the signs that it is allowed to work in the presence of[4] the beast it deceives those who dwell on earth, telling them to make an image for the beast that was wounded by the sword and yet lived. (Va 12:9; Va 13:3; Va 13:12)15And it was allowed to give breath to the image of the beast, so that the image of the beast might even speak and might cause those who would not worship the image of the beast to be slain.
