1 Bu sırada öğrencileri İsa'ya yaklaşıp, ‹‹Göklerin Egemenliği'nde en büyük kimdir?›› diye sordular. (Mar 9:2; Luk 9:28) 2-3 İsa, yanına küçük bir çocuk çağırdı, onu orta yere dikip şöyle dedi: ‹‹Size doğrusunu söyleyeyim, yolunuzdan dönüp küçük çocuklar gibi olmazsanız, Göklerin Egemenliği'ne asla giremezsiniz. 4 Kim bu çocuk gibi alçakgönüllü olursa, Göklerin Egemenliği'nde en büyük odur. 5 Böyle bir çocuğu benim adım uğruna kabul eden, beni kabul etmiş olur. 6 ‹‹Ama kim bana iman eden bu küçüklerden birini günaha düşürürse, boynuna kocaman bir değirmen taşı asılıp denizin dibine atılması kendisi için daha iyi olur. 7 İnsanı günaha düşüren tuzaklardan ötürü vay dünyanın haline! Böyle tuzakların olması kaçınılmazdır. Ama bu tuzaklara aracılık eden kişinin vay haline! 8 ‹‹Eğer elin ya da ayağın günah işlemene neden olursa, onu kesip at. Tek el, tek ayakla yaşama kavuşman, iki elle, iki ayakla sönmez ateşe atılmandan iyidir. 9 Eğer gözün günah işlemene neden olursa, onu çıkar at. Tek gözle yaşama kavuşman, iki gözle cehennem ateşine atılmandan iyidir. 10-11 ‹‹Bu küçüklerden birini bile hor görmekten sakının! Size şunu söyleyeyim, onların göklerdeki melekleri, göklerdeki Babam'ın yüzünü her zaman görürler.›› 



12 ‹‹Siz ne dersiniz? Bir adamın yüz koyunu olsa ve bunlardan biri yolunu şaşırsa, doksan dokuzunu dağlarda bırakıp yolunu şaşıranı aramaya gitmez mi? (Luk 15:3) 13 Size doğrusunu söyleyeyim, eğer onu bulursa, yolunu şaşırmamış doksan dokuz koyun için sevindiğinden daha çok onun için sevinir. 14 Bunun gibi, göklerdeki Babanız da bu küçüklerden hiçbirinin kaybolmasını istemez.›› 



15 ‹‹Eğer kardeşin sana karşı günah işlerse, ona git, suçunu kendisine göster. Her şey yalnız ikinizin arasında kalsın. Kardeşin seni dinlerse, onu kazanmış olursun. 16 Ama dinlemezse, yanına bir ya da iki kişi daha al ki, söylenen her şey iki ya da üç tanığın sözüyle doğrulansın. 17 Onları da dinlemezse, durumu inanlılar topluluğuna bildir. Topluluğu da dinlemezse, onu putperest ya da vergi görevlisi say. 18 ‹‹Size doğrusunu söyleyeyim, yeryüzünde bağlayacağınız her şey gökte de bağlanmış olacak. Yeryüzünde çözeceğiniz her şey gökte de çözülmüş olacak. 19 Yine size şunu söyleyeyim, yeryüzünde aranızdan iki kişi, dileyecekleri herhangi bir şey için anlaşırlarsa, göklerdeki Babam dileklerini yerine getirir. 20 Nerede iki ya da üç kişi benim adımla toplanırsa, ben de orada, aralarındayım.›› 



21 Bunun üzerine Petrus İsa'ya gelip, ‹‹Ya Rab›› dedi, ‹‹Kardeşim bana karşı kaç kez günah işlerse onu bağışlamalıyım? Yedi kez mi?›› 22 İsa, ‹‹Yedi kez değil›› dedi. ‹‹Yetmiş kere yedi kez derim sana. 23 Şöyle ki, Göklerin Egemenliği, köleleriyle hesaplaşmak isteyen bir krala benzer. 24 Kral hesap görmeye başladığında kendisine, borcu on bin talantı bulan bir köle getirildi. 25 Kölenin ödeme gücü olmadığından efendisi onun, karısının, çocuklarının ve bütün malının satılıp borcun ödenmesini buyurdu. 26 Köle yere kapanıp efendisine, ‹Ne olur, sabret! Bütün borcumu ödeyeceğim› dedi. 27 Efendisi köleye acıdı, borcunu bağışlayıp onu salıverdi. 28 ‹‹Ama köle çıkıp gitti, kendisine yüz dinar borcu olan başka bir köleye rastladı. Onu yakalayıp, ‹Borcunu öde› diyerek boğazına sarıldı. (Mar 9:33; Luk 9:46) 29 Bu köle yüzüstü yere kapandı, ‹Ne olur, sabret! Borcumu ödeyeceğim› diye yalvardı. 30 Ama ilk köle bunu reddetti. Gitti, borcunu ödeyinceye dek adamı zindana kapattı. 31 Öteki köleler, olanları görünce çok üzüldüler. Efendilerine gidip bütün olup bitenleri anlattılar. 32 ‹‹Bunun üzerine efendisi köleyi yanına çağırdı. ‹Ey kötü köle!› dedi. ‹Bana yalvardığın için bütün borcunu bağışladım. 33 Benim sana acıdığım gibi, senin de köle arkadaşına acıman gerekmez miydi?› 34 Bu öfkeyle efendisi, bütün borcunu ödeyinceye dek onu işkencecilere teslim etti. 35 ‹‹Eğer her biriniz kardeşini gönülden bağışlamazsa, göksel Babam da size öyle davranacaktır.››

1 At that time the disciples came to Jesus, saying, “Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?” (Mat 17:24; Mat 20:20; Mar 9:33; Luk 9:46) 2 And calling to him a child, he put him in the midst of them 3 and said, “Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. (Mez 131:2; Mat 5:19; Mat 19:14; Mar 10:15; Luk 18:17; Luk 22:32; 1 Ko 14:20; 1 Pe 2:2) 4 Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. (Mat 18:3; Mat 20:27; Mat 23:11) 5 “Whoever receives one such child in my name receives me, (Mat 10:40; Mat 10:42) 6 but whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin,[1] it would be better for him to have a great millstone fastened around his neck and to be drowned in the depth of the sea. (Mar 9:42; Luk 17:2; 1 Ko 8:12) 



7 “Woe to the world for temptations to sin![2] For it is necessary that temptations come, but woe to the one by whom the temptation comes! (Mat 13:41; Mat 26:24; Luk 17:1; 1 Ko 11:19) 8 And if your hand or your foot causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life crippled or lame than with two hands or two feet to be thrown into the eternal fire. (Mat 5:29; Mat 25:41; Mar 9:43) 9 And if your eye causes you to sin, tear it out and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life with one eye than with two eyes to be thrown into the hell[3] of fire. (Mat 18:8) 



10 “See that you do not despise one of these little ones. For I tell you that in heaven their angels always see the face of my Father who is in heaven.[4] (Est 1:14; Mez 34:7; Mez 91:11; Mat 6:29; Mat 25:40; Mat 25:45; Luk 1:19; Luk 15:7; Luk 15:10; Elç 12:15; İbr 1:14; Va 8:2) 12 What do you think? If a man has a hundred sheep, and one of them has gone astray, does he not leave the ninety-nine on the mountains and go in search of the one that went astray? (Mat 17:25; Mat 21:28; Luk 15:4) 13 And if he finds it, truly, I say to you, he rejoices over it more than over the ninety-nine that never went astray. 14 So it is not the will of my[5] Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones should perish. (Yu 6:39; Yu 10:28; Yu 17:12) 



15 “If your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault, between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have gained your brother. (Lev 19:17; Luk 17:3; 1 Ko 9:19; 2 Se 3:15; Tit 3:10; Yak 5:19; 1 Pe 3:1) 16 But if he does not listen, take one or two others along with you, that every charge may be established by the evidence of two or three witnesses. (Say 35:30; Yas 19:15; Yu 8:17; 2 Ko 13:1; 1 Ti 5:19; İbr 10:28) 17 If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church. And if he refuses to listen even to the church, let him be to you as a Gentile and a tax collector. (Mat 5:46; Rom 16:17; 1 Ko 5:4; 1 Ko 5:9; 1 Ko 6:1; 2 Se 3:6; 2 Se 3:14; 2 Yu 1:10) 18 Truly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed[6] in heaven. (Mat 16:19; Yu 20:23) 19 Again I say to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. (Mat 7:7; Elç 12:5; Elç 12:12; Flm 1:22) 20 For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.” (Mat 28:20; Yu 12:26; Yu 20:20; Yu 20:26; Elç 4:30; 1 Ko 5:4) 



21 Then Peter came up and said to him, “Lord, how often will my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? As many as seven times?” (Mat 18:15; Luk 17:3; Kol 3:13) 22 Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you seven times, but seventy-seven times. 23 “Therefore the kingdom of heaven may be compared to a king who wished to settle accounts with his servants.[7] (Mat 25:19) 24 When he began to settle, one was brought to him who owed him ten thousand talents.[8] (Est 3:9; Mat 25:15) 25 And since he could not pay, his master ordered him to be sold, with his wife and children and all that he had, and payment to be made. (Çık 21:2; Lev 25:39; 2 Kr 4:1; Neh 5:5; Luk 7:42) 26 So the servant[9] fell on his knees, imploring him, ‘Have patience with me, and I will pay you everything.’ (Mat 8:2; Elç 10:25) 27 And out of pity for him, the master of that servant released him and forgave him the debt. (Mat 18:25) 28 But when that same servant went out, he found one of his fellow servants who owed him a hundred denarii,[10] and seizing him, he began to choke him, saying, ‘Pay what you owe.’ (Mat 20:2; Mat 22:19; Mar 6:37; Mar 14:5; Luk 7:41; Luk 10:35; Yu 6:7) 29 So his fellow servant fell down and pleaded with him, ‘Have patience with me, and I will pay you.’ 30 He refused and went and put him in prison until he should pay the debt. 31 When his fellow servants saw what had taken place, they were greatly distressed, and they went and reported to their master all that had taken place. 32 Then his master summoned him and said to him, ‘You wicked servant! I forgave you all that debt because you pleaded with me. 33 And should not you have had mercy on your fellow servant, as I had mercy on you?’ (Mat 6:12; Ef 4:32; Kol 3:13; 1 Yu 4:11) 34 And in anger his master delivered him to the jailers,[11] until he should pay all his debt. (Mat 5:25; Mat 18:30; Yak 2:13) 35 So also my heavenly Father will do to every one of you, if you do not forgive your brother from your heart.” (Özd 21:13; Mat 6:15; Rom 6:17; 1 Pe 1:22)
