1Halk, Ginnesar Gölü'nün kıyısında duran İsa'nın çevresini sarmış, Tanrı'nın sözünü dinliyordu.2İsa, gölün kıyısında iki tekne gördü. Balıkçılar teknelerinden inmiş ağlarını yıkıyorlardı.3İki tekneden Simun'a ait olanına binen İsa, ona kıyıdan biraz açılmasını rica etti. Sonra oturdu, teknenin içinden halka öğretmeye devam etti.4Konuşmasını bitirince Simun'a, ‹‹Derin sulara açılın, balık tutmak için ağlarınızı atın›› dedi.5Simun şu karşılığı verdi: ‹‹Efendimiz, bütün gece çabaladık, hiçbir şey tutamadık. Yine de senin sözün üzerine ağları atacağım.››6Bunu yapınca öyle çok balık yakaladılar ki, ağları yırtılmaya başladı.7Öbür teknedeki ortaklarına işaret ederek gelip yardım etmelerini istediler. Onlar da geldiler ve her iki tekneyi balıkla doldurdular; tekneler neredeyse batıyordu.8Simun Petrus bunu görünce, ‹‹Ya Rab, benden uzak dur, ben günahlı bir adamım›› diyerek İsa'nın dizlerine kapandı.9Kendisi ve yanındakiler, tutmuş oldukları balıkların çokluğuna şaşıp kalmışlardı.10Simun'un ortakları olan Zebedi oğulları Yakup'la Yuhanna'yı da aynı şaşkınlık almıştı. İsa Simun'a, ‹‹Korkma›› dedi, ‹‹Bundan böyle balık yerine insan tutacaksın.››11Sonra onlar tekneleri karaya çektiler ve her şeyi bırakıp İsa'nın ardından gittiler.
Luka 5
English Standard Version
Jesus Calls the First Disciples
1On one occasion, while the crowd was pressing in on him to hear the word of God, he was standing by the lake of Gennesaret, (Say 34:11; Yas 3:17; Yşu 12:3; Mat 14:34; Yu 6:1)2and he saw two boats by the lake, but the fishermen had gone out of them and were washing their nets. (Mat 4:18; Mar 1:16; Mar 1:19; Yu 1:40)3Getting into one of the boats, which was Simon’s, he asked him to put out a little from the land. And he sat down and taught the people from the boat. (Mat 5:1)4And when he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Put out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.” (Yu 21:6)5And Simon answered, “Master, we toiled all night and took nothing! But at your word I will let down the nets.” (Yu 21:3)6And when they had done this, they enclosed a large number of fish, and their nets were breaking. (Yu 21:11)7They signaled to their partners in the other boat to come and help them. And they came and filled both the boats, so that they began to sink. (Yu 21:4)8But when Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus’ knees, saying, “Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, O Lord.” (Yşa 6:5; Mat 8:34)9For he and all who were with him were astonished at the catch of fish that they had taken,10and so also were James and John, sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon. And Jesus said to Simon, “Do not be afraid; from now on you will be catching men.”[1]11And when they had brought their boats to land, they left everything and followed him. (Mat 19:27; Luk 5:28; Luk 18:28)
Jesus Cleanses a Leper
12While he was in one of the cities, there came a man full of leprosy.[2] And when he saw Jesus, he fell on his face and begged him, “Lord, if you will, you can make me clean.” (Mat 8:2; Mat 9:28; Mar 1:40; Mar 9:22; Luk 17:16)13And Jesus[3] stretched out his hand and touched him, saying, “I will; be clean.” And immediately the leprosy left him.14And he charged him to tell no one, but “go and show yourself to the priest, and make an offering for your cleansing, as Moses commanded, for a proof to them.” (Lev 14:2; Mat 9:30; Mat 12:16; Mat 17:9; Mar 1:34; Mar 5:43; Mar 6:11; Mar 7:36; Mar 8:26; Luk 9:5; Luk 17:14; Yak 5:3)15But now even more the report about him went abroad, and great crowds gathered to hear him and to be healed of their infirmities. (Mar 1:45)16But he would withdraw to desolate places and pray. (Mat 14:23; Mar 1:35)
Jesus Heals a Paralytic
17On one of those days, as he was teaching, Pharisees and teachers of the law were sitting there, who had come from every village of Galilee and Judea and from Jerusalem. And the power of the Lord was with him to heal.[4] (Mat 22:35; Luk 2:46; Luk 8:46; Elç 5:34; 1 Ti 1:7)18And behold, some men were bringing on a bed a man who was paralyzed, and they were seeking to bring him in and lay him before Jesus, (Mat 9:2; Mar 2:3; Mar 6:55)19but finding no way to bring him in, because of the crowd, they went up on the roof and let him down with his bed through the tiles into the midst before Jesus. (Yas 22:8; 1 Sa 9:25; Neh 8:16; Mat 10:27; Mat 24:17; Mar 2:4; Elç 10:9)20And when he saw their faith, he said, “Man, your sins are forgiven you.” (Mat 8:10; Mat 8:13; Mat 9:22; Mat 9:29; Mat 15:28; Mar 10:52; Luk 7:9; Luk 7:48; Luk 7:50; Luk 17:19; Luk 18:42; Yu 5:14; Elç 3:16; Elç 14:9; Yak 5:15)21And the scribes and the Pharisees began to question, saying, “Who is this who speaks blasphemies? Who can forgive sins but God alone?” (Mez 32:5; Yşa 43:25; Mat 26:65; Yu 10:36)22When Jesus perceived their thoughts, he answered them, “Why do you question in your hearts? (Yu 2:25)23Which is easier, to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven you,’ or to say, ‘Rise and walk’?24But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins”—he said to the man who was paralyzed—“I say to you, rise, pick up your bed and go home.” (Luk 6:5)25And immediately he rose up before them and picked up what he had been lying on and went home, glorifying God. (Luk 7:16)26And amazement seized them all, and they glorified God and were filled with awe, saying, “We have seen extraordinary things today.” (Luk 5:25)
Jesus Calls Levi
27After this he went out and saw a tax collector named Levi, sitting at the tax booth. And he said to him, “Follow me.” (Mat 5:46; Mat 9:9; Mat 11:19; Mar 2:14)28And leaving everything, he rose and followed him. (Luk 5:11)29And Levi made him a great feast in his house, and there was a large company of tax collectors and others reclining at table with them. (Luk 15:1)30And the Pharisees and their scribes grumbled at his disciples, saying, “Why do you eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?” (Mat 11:19; Luk 15:2; Elç 4:5; Elç 23:9)31And Jesus answered them, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick.32I have not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance.” (Mat 4:17; Mat 11:20; Mar 1:15; Luk 13:3; Luk 13:5; Luk 15:7; Luk 15:10; Luk 24:47; Yu 9:39; Elç 5:31; 1 Ti 1:15)
A Question About Fasting
33And they said to him, “The disciples of John fast often and offer prayers, and so do the disciples of the Pharisees, but yours eat and drink.” (Mat 11:2; Mat 14:12; Luk 2:37; Luk 11:1; Luk 18:12; Yu 1:35; Yu 3:25; Yu 4:1; Elç 18:25; Elç 19:3)34And Jesus said to them, “Can you make wedding guests fast while the bridegroom is with them? (Yu 3:29)35The days will come when the bridegroom is taken away from them, and then they will fast in those days.” (Luk 17:22; Yu 16:20)36He also told them a parable: “No one tears a piece from a new garment and puts it on an old garment. If he does, he will tear the new, and the piece from the new will not match the old.37And no one puts new wine into old wineskins. If he does, the new wine will burst the skins and it will be spilled, and the skins will be destroyed. (Yşu 9:4)38But new wine must be put into fresh wineskins.39And no one after drinking old wine desires new, for he says, ‘The old is good.’”[5]
