1 Yaşam Sözü'yle ilgili olarak başlangıçtan beri var olanı, işittiğimizi, gözlerimizle gördüğümüzü, seyredip ellerimizle dokunduğumuzu duyuruyoruz. 2 Yaşam açıkça göründü, O'nu gördük ve O'na tanıklık ediyoruz. Baba'yla birlikte olup bize görünmüş olan sonsuz Yaşam'ı size duyuruyoruz. 3 Evet, sizin de bizlerle paydaşlığınız olsun diye gördüğümüzü, işittiğimizi size duyuruyoruz. Bizim paydaşlığımız da Baba'yla ve Oğlu İsa Mesih'ledir. 4 Bunları size, sevincimiz tam olsun diye yazıyoruz. 



5 Mesih'ten işittiğimiz ve şimdi size ilettiğimiz bildiri şudur: Tanrı ışıktır, O'nda hiç karanlık yoktur. 6 O'nunla paydaşlığımız var deyip de karanlıkta yürürsek, yalan söylemiş, gerçeğe uymamış oluruz. 7 Ama O ışıkta olduğu gibi biz de ışıkta yürürsek, birbirimizle paydaşlığımız olur ve Oğlu İsa'nın kanı bizi her günahtan arındırır. 8 Günahımız yok dersek, kendimizi aldatırız, içimizde gerçek olmaz. 9 Ama günahlarımızı itiraf edersek, güvenilir ve adil olan Tanrı günahlarımızı bağışlayıp bizi her kötülükten arındıracaktır. 10 Günah işlemedik dersek, O'nu yalancı durumuna düşürmüş oluruz; O'nun sözü içimizde olmaz.

1 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we looked upon and have touched with our hands, concerning the word of life— (Luk 24:39; Yu 1:1; Yu 1:14; Yu 19:35; Yu 20:27; Elç 4:20; 2 Pe 1:16; 1 Yu 2:13; 1 Yu 4:14) 2 the life was made manifest, and we have seen it, and testify to it and proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and was made manifest to us— (Yu 1:4; Yu 11:25; Yu 14:6; Yu 15:27; Rom 16:26; 1 Ti 3:16; 1 Yu 1:1; 1 Yu 3:5; 1 Yu 3:8) 3 that which we have seen and heard we proclaim also to you, so that you too may have fellowship with us; and indeed our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son Jesus Christ. (Yu 17:21; 1 Ko 1:9; 1 Yu 1:1; 1 Yu 2:24) 4 And we are writing these things so that our[1] joy may be complete. (Yu 15:11; Yu 16:24) 



5 This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. (Yu 4:24; Yak 1:17; 1 Yu 3:11; 1 Yu 4:8) 6 If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. (Yu 3:21; Yu 12:35; 2 Ko 6:14; 1 Yu 2:11) 7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin. (Mez 104:2; Yşa 2:5; Ef 1:7; 1 Ti 6:16; İbr 9:14; 1 Pe 1:19; Va 5:9; Va 7:14; Va 12:11) 8 If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. (Eyü 15:14; Yer 2:35; Yak 3:2; 1 Yu 2:4) 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (Mez 32:5; Mez 51:3; Mez 143:1; Özd 28:13; Rom 3:26; 1 Yu 1:7) 10 If we say we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us. (Yu 5:38; Yu 8:37; 1 Yu 5:10)
