İmanın ürünü olan etkinliğinizi, sevgiye dayanan emeğinizi ve Rabbimiz İsa Mesih'e bağladığınız umuttan kaynaklanan dayanıklılığınızı Babamız Tanrı'nın önünde durmadan anıyoruz. 4 Tanrı'nın sevdiği kardeşlerim, sizleri O'nun seçtiğini biliyoruz. 5 Çünkü yaydığımız Müjde size yalnız sözle değil, kudretle, Kutsal Ruh'la ve büyük güvenle ulaştı. Nitekim aranızdayken sizin yararınıza nasıl yaşadığımızı bilirsiniz. 6 Siz de büyük sıkıntılara karşın, Kutsal Ruh'un verdiği sevinçle Tanrı sözünü kabul ederek bizi ve Rab'bi örnek aldınız. 7 Böylece Makedonya ve Ahaya'daki bütün imanlılara örnek oldunuz. 8 Rab'bin sözü sizden yayıldı. Tanrı'ya imanınızın haberi yalnız Makedonya ve Ahaya'ya değil, her yere ulaştı. Artık bizim bir şey söylememize gerek kalmadı. 9-10 Çünkü herkes bizi ne kadar iyi karşıladığınızı anlatıp duruyor. Yaşayan gerçek Tanrı'ya kulluk etmek, O'nun ölümden dirilttiği ve bizleri gelecek gazaptan kurtaran Oğlu İsa'nın göklerden gelişini beklemek üzere putlardan Tanrı'ya nasıl döndüğünüzü anlatıyorlar.

1 Paul, Silvanus, and Timothy, To the church of the Thessalonians in God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ: Grace to you and peace. (Elç 15:22; Elç 17:1; Rom 1:7; 2 Ko 1:19; 2 Se 1:1; 1 Pe 5:12) 



2 We give thanks to God always for all of you, constantly[1] mentioning you in our prayers, (Rom 1:8; Rom 1:9; Ef 5:20; 1 Se 2:13; 2 Ti 1:3) 3 remembering before our God and Father your work of faith and labor of love and steadfastness of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ. (Yu 6:29; Rom 8:25; Rom 15:4; Gal 1:4; Gal 5:6; Kol 1:4; 2 Se 1:3; 2 Se 1:11; 1 Ti 1:14; İbr 6:10; Yak 2:22; Va 2:19) 4 For we know, brothers[2] loved by God, that he has chosen you, (2 Se 2:13; 2 Pe 1:10) 5 because our gospel came to you not only in word, but also in power and in the Holy Spirit and with full conviction. You know what kind of men we proved to be among you for your sake.
