1 Wohl dem, der nicht wandelt nach dem Rat der Gottlosen, noch tritt auf den Weg der Sünder, noch sitzt, wo die Spötter sitzen, (5Mo 6,24; 5Mo 32,1; Ps 119,1; Spr 1,10; Spr 1,15; Spr 4,14; Spr 4,19; Jer 15,17; Mt 5,3; 2Petr 3,3; Offb 1,3) 

2 sondern seine Lust hat am Gesetz des HERRN und über sein Gesetz nachsinnt Tag und Nacht. (Ps 119,97; Ps 119,99; Jer 15,17) 

3 Der ist wie ein Baum, gepflanzt an Wasserbächen, der seine Frucht bringt zu seiner Zeit, und seine Blätter verwelken nicht, und alles, was er tut, gerät wohl. (Jos 1,8; Ps 110,7; Jes 40,31; Jes 58,11; Jer 17,8; Joh 15,5; Joh 15,8; Joh 15,16; 2Tim 3,17) 

4 Nicht so die Gottlosen, sondern sie sind wie Spreu, die der Wind verweht. (Jes 17,13; Mal 3,18; Mt 3,12) 

5 Darum werden die Gottlosen nicht bestehen im Gericht, noch die Sünder in der Gemeinde der Gerechten. (Joe 2,11; Röm 2,5; 2Petr 2,9) 

6 Denn der HERR kennt den Weg der Gerechten; aber der Weg der Gottlosen führt ins Verderben. (1Sam 2,9; Hi 31,3; Mt 7,13; Joh 10,14; 1Kor 8,3; 2Tim 2,19)

Psalm 1

New International Reader’s Version

1 Blessed is the person who obeys the law of the LORD. They don’t follow the advice of evil people. They don’t make a habit of doing what sinners do. They don’t join those who make fun of the LORD and his law. 

2 Instead, the law of the LORD gives them joy. They think about his law day and night. 

3 That kind of person is like a tree that is planted near a stream of water. It always bears its fruit at the right time. Its leaves don’t dry up. Everything godly people do turns out well. 

4 Sinful people are not like that at all. They are like straw that the wind blows away. 

5 When the LORD judges them, their life will come to an end. Sinners won’t have any place among those who are godly. 

6 The LORD watches over the lives of godly people. But the lives of sinful people will lead to their death.
