Der falsche Prophet Hananja und sein Ende

1 Es geschah aber in demselben Jahr, im Anfang der Regierung Zedekias, des Königs von Juda, im vierten Jahr, im fünften Monat, dass Hananja, der Sohn Assurs, der Prophet von Gibeon, im Haus des HERRN vor den Augen der Priester und dem ganzen Volk zu mir sagte: (Jer 28,10; Jer 28,15) 2 So spricht der HERR der Heerscharen, der Gott Israels: Ich zerbreche das Joch des Königs von Babel; (Jer 14,14; Jer 28,13; Hes 13,5) 3 binnen zwei Jahren bringe ich alle Geräte des Hauses des HERRN, die Nebukadnezar, der König von Babel von hier weggenommen und nach Babel gebracht hat, wieder an diesen Ort zurück; (Jer 27,16) 4 auch Jechonja, den Sohn Jojakims, den König von Juda, samt allen Gefangenen Judas, die nach Babel gekommen sind, bringe ich an diesen Ort zurück, spricht der HERR; denn ich will das Joch des Königs von Babel zerbrechen! (2Kön 24,14; 2Kön 25,27; Jer 27,12) 5 Da antwortete der Prophet Jeremia dem Propheten Hananja vor den Augen der Priester und vor den Augen des ganzen Volkes, das im Haus des HERRN stand, (Jer 7,2; Jer 19,14; Jer 26,2; Jer 28,1)

6 und der Prophet Jeremia sprach: Amen! So möge der HERR handeln! Der HERR lasse deine Worte zustande kommen, die du geweissagt hast, dass er die Geräte des Hauses des HERRN und alle Gefangenen von Babel wieder an diesen Ort zurückbringe! 7 Höre jedoch dieses Wort, das ich vor deinen Ohren und den Ohren des ganzen Volkes ausspreche: (Mt 13,9; Offb 2,29) 8 Die Propheten, die vor mir und vor dir von jeher gewesen sind, die haben über viele Länder und große Königreiche von Krieg und Unheil und Pest geweissagt. 9 Der Prophet [aber], der Frieden weissagt, der wird am Eintreffen seines Wortes erkannt als ein Prophet, den der HERR in Wahrheit gesandt hat! (5Mo 18,22; Hes 13,9; Sach 1,6) 10 Da nahm der Prophet Hananja das Joch vom Hals des Propheten Jeremia und zerbrach es. (Jer 27,2; Jer 28,2; Jer 28,4) 11 Und Hananja sprach vor den Augen des ganzen Volkes: So spricht der HERR: So will ich das Joch Nebukadnezars, des Königs von Babel, innerhalb von zwei Jahren vom Hals aller Völker nehmen und zerbrechen! — Da ging der Prophet Jeremia seines Weges. 12 Es erging aber das Wort des HERRN an Jeremia, nachdem der Prophet Hananja das Joch vom Hals des Propheten Jeremia zerbrochen hatte, folgendermaßen: (2Kön 20,4; Jer 29,29) 13 Geh und rede zu Hananja und sprich: So spricht der HERR: Du hast ein hölzernes Joch zerbrochen, aber du hast ein eisernes Joch an seiner Stelle bereitet! (5Mo 28,48) 14 Denn so spricht der HERR der Heerscharen, der Gott Israels: Ich habe ein eisernes Joch auf den Hals aller dieser Völker gelegt, damit sie Nebukadnezar, dem König von Babel, dienstbar sein sollen, und sie werden ihm auch dienen, und ich habe ihm sogar die Tiere des Feldes gegeben! (Jer 27,4; Dan 2,37) 15 Und der Prophet Jeremia sprach zu dem Propheten Hananja: Höre doch, Hananja! Der HERR hat dich nicht gesandt, sondern du hast dieses Volk dazu gebracht, dass es auf eine Lüge vertraut. (Jer 23,32; Jer 29,31; Kla 2,14; Hes 13,6; Hes 13,22)

16 Darum, so spricht der HERR: Siehe, ich schaffe dich vom Erdboden weg; du wirst noch in diesem Jahr sterben, weil du Widerstand gegen den HERRN verkündet hast! (5Mo 13,5; Jer 18,20; Jer 29,32; Apg 13,8)

The false prophet Hananiah opposes Jeremiah

1 The false prophet Hananiah spoke to me, Jeremiah, in the LORD’s house. Hananiah was from Gibeon. He was the son of Azzur. It was shortly after Zedekiah became king of Judah. It was in the fifth month of his fourth year. In front of the priests and all the people Hananiah spoke to me. He said, 2 ‘The LORD who rules over all is the God of Israel. He says, “I will break the yoke of the king of Babylon. 3 Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon, removed all the objects that belong to my house. He took them to Babylon. Before two years are over, I will bring them back to this place. 4 I will also bring King Jehoiachin back. He is the son of Jehoiakim. And I will bring back all the others who were taken from Judah to Babylon,” announces the LORD. “I will break the yoke of the king of Babylon.” ’ 5 Then Jeremiah the prophet replied to the false prophet Hananiah. Jeremiah spoke to him in front of the priests and all the people. They were standing in the LORD’s house. 6 Jeremiah said, ‘Amen, Hananiah! May the LORD do those things! May he make the words you have prophesied come true. May he bring back from Babylon the objects that belong to the LORD’s house. May he bring back to this place all the people who were taken away. 7 But listen to what I have to say. I want you and all the people to hear it. 8 There have been prophets long before you and I were ever born. They have prophesied against many countries and great kingdoms. They have spoken about war, trouble and plague. 9 But what if a prophet says peace will come? And suppose peace really does come? Only then will he be recognised as a prophet truly sent by the LORD.’ 10 The false prophet Hananiah took the yoke off the neck of Jeremiah the prophet. Then Hananiah broke the yoke. 11 In front of all the people he said, ‘The LORD says, “In the same way, I will break the yoke of Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon. Before two years are over, I will remove it from the necks of all the nations.” ’ When Jeremiah the prophet heard this, he went on his way. 12 A message from the LORD came to Jeremiah. It was after the false prophet Hananiah had broken the yoke off Jeremiah’s neck. The message said, 13 ‘Go. Tell Hananiah, “The LORD says, ‘You have broken a wooden yoke. But in its place you will get an iron yoke.’ 14 The LORD who rules over all is the God of Israel. He says, ‘I will put an iron yoke on the necks of all these nations. I will make them serve Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon. So they will serve him. I will even give him control over the wild animals.’ ” ’ 15 Then Jeremiah the prophet spoke to the false prophet Hananiah. Jeremiah said, ‘Listen, Hananiah! The LORD hasn’t sent you. But you have tricked these people. Now they trust in lies. 16 So the LORD says, “I am about to remove you from the face of the earth. Before this year is over, you will die. You have taught the people to turn against me.” ’ 17 In the seventh month of that very year, the false prophet Hananiah died.
