Die Nachkommenschaft der drei Söhne Noahs

1 Dies ist die Geschichte der Söhne Noahs: Sem, Ham und Japhet; und nach der Sintflut wurden ihnen Söhne geboren. (1Mo 9,1; 1Mo 9,18) 2 Die Söhne Japhets waren: Gomer, Magog, Madai, Jawan, Tubal, Mesech und Tiras. (1Chr 1,5; Jes 66,19; Hes 27,13; Hes 38,1; Hes 39,1)

3 Die Söhne Gomers aber: Aschkenas, Riphat und Togarma. (Hes 38,6) 4 Und die Söhne Jawans: Elischa, Tarsis, die Kittäer und die Dodaniter. (4Mo 24,24; Jes 23,1; Hes 27,6) 5 Von diesen haben sie sich auf die Gebiete der Heiden verteilt, in ihre Länder, jeder nach seiner Sprache; in ihre Völkerschaften, jeder nach seiner Sippe. 7 Und die Söhne Kuschs: Seba, Hawila, Sabta, Ragma, Sabtecha. Und die Söhne Ragmas: Scheba und Dedan. (Ps 72,10) 8 Auch zeugte Kusch den Nimrod; der war der erste Gewalthaber auf Erden. (Mi 5,5; Lk 22,25) 9 Er war ein gewaltiger Jäger vor dem HERRN; daher sagt man: »Ein gewaltiger Jäger vor dem HERRN wie Nimrod«. (1Mo 25,27; Jer 16,16) 10 Und der Anfang seines Königreiches war Babel, sowie Erek, Akkad und Kalne im Land Sinear. (1Mo 11,2; 1Mo 11,9; Am 6,2) 11 Von diesem Land zog er aus nach Assur und baute Ninive, Rechobot-Ir und Kelach, (2Kön 19,36; Jon 1,2; Jon 3,2; Jon 4,11; Nah 1,1)

12 dazu Resen, zwischen Ninive und Kelach; das ist die große Stadt. 13 Mizraim aber zeugte die Luditer, die Anamiter, die Lehabiter und Naphtuchiter; (Jer 46,9) 14 auch die Patrusiter und die Kasluchiter (von denen die Philister ausgegangen sind) und die Kaphtoriter. (5Mo 2,23; Jer 44,1; Jer 47,4) 15 Kanaan aber zeugte Zidon, seinen Erstgeborenen, und Het, (Jos 11,8; Mt 11,21) 16 auch den Jebusiter, den Amoriter und den Girgasiter, (1Mo 15,18) 17 und den Hewiter, den Arkiter und den Siniter (1Mo 34,2; 2Mo 3,8) 18 und den Arwaditer, den Zemariter und den Hamatiter; und danach breiteten sich die Sippen der Kanaaniter aus. (Jos 13,5; Jes 10,9; Hes 27,8) 19 Und das Gebiet der Kanaaniter erstreckte sich von Zidon an bis dahin, wo man von Gerar nach Gaza kommt; nach Sodom und Gomorra, Adama und Zeboim hin, bis nach Lascha. 20 Das sind die Söhne Hams nach ihren Sippen und Sprachen, in ihren Ländern und Völkerschaften. (1Mo 10,6) 21 Auch Sem wurden Kinder geboren, ihm, dem Vater^[1] aller Söhne Hebers, dem älteren Bruder Japhets. (1Mo 10,31; 1Mo 11,10; 1Chr 1,17) 22 Die Söhne Sems waren Elam, Assur, Arpakschad, Lud und Aram. (1Mo 10,11; 1Mo 10,13; 1Chr 1,17; Jes 19,24)

25 Und Heber wurden zwei Söhne geboren; der Name des einen war Peleg, denn in seinen Tagen wurde die Erde geteilt; und der Name seines Bruders war Joktan. (1Mo 11,8; 1Mo 11,16; 1Chr 1,19) 26 Und Joktan zeugte Almodad, Scheleph, Hazarmawet und Jerach, (1Chr 1,20) 27 Hadoram, Usal und Dikla, (Hes 27,19) 28 Obal, Abimael und Scheba, (1Kön 10,1) 29 Ophir, Hawila und Jobab; alle diese sind Söhne Joktans. 30 Und ihre Wohnsitze erstreckten sich von Mescha an, bis man nach Sephar kommt, zum östlichen Gebirge. (4Mo 23,7) 31 Das sind die Söhne Sems nach ihren Sippen und Sprachen, in ihren Ländern und Völkerschaften. (Apg 17,26) 32 Das sind die Sippen der Söhne Noahs nach ihrer Abstammung in ihren Völkern; und von ihnen haben sich nach der Sintflut die Völker auf der Erde verteilt. 2 The sons of Japheth were Gomer, Magog, Madai, Javan, Tubal, Meshek and Tiras. 3 The sons of Gomer were Ashkenaz, Riphath and Togarmah. 4 The sons of Javan were Elishah, Tarshish, the Kittites and the Rodanites. 5 From these people came the families who lived near the Mediterranean Sea. Each tribe and nation then spread out into its own territory and had its own language.

The sons of Ham

6 The sons of Ham were Cush, Egypt, Put and Canaan. 7 The sons of Cush were Seba, Havilah, Sabtah, Raamah and Sabteka. The sons of Raamah were Sheba and Dedan. 8 Cush was the father of Nimrod. Nimrod became a mighty hero on the earth. 9 He was a mighty hunter in the LORD’s eyes. That’s why people sometimes compare others with Nimrod. They say, ‘They are like Nimrod, who was a mighty hunter in the LORD’s eyes.’ 10 The first capital cities of Nimrod’s kingdom were Babylon, Uruk, Akkad and Kalneh. These cities were in the land of Babylon. 11 From that land he went to Assyria. There he built Nineveh, Rehoboth Ir and Calah. 12 He also built Resen, which is between Nineveh and Calah. Nineveh is the most famous city. 13 Egypt was the father of the Ludites, Anamites, Lehabites, Naphtuhites, 14 Pathrusites, Kasluhites and Caphtorites. The Philistines came from the Kasluhites. 15 Canaan was the father of Sidon. Sidon was his eldest son. Canaan was also the father of the Hittites, 16 Jebusites, Amorites and Girgashites. 17 And he was the father of the Hivites, Arkites, Sinites, 18 Arvadites, Zemarites and Hamathites. Later the Canaanite tribes scattered. 19 The borders of Canaan reached from Sidon towards Gerar all the way to Gaza. Then they continued towards Sodom, Gomorrah, Admah and Zeboyim all the way to Lasha. 20 These are the sons of Ham. They are listed by their tribes and languages in their territories and nations.

The sons of Shem

21 Sons were also born to Shem, Japheth’s younger brother. All the sons of Eber belonged to Shem’s family line. 22 The sons of Shem were Elam, Ashur, Arphaxad, Lud and Aram. 23 The sons of Aram were Uz, Hul, Gether and Meshek. 24 Arphaxad was the father of Shelah. Shelah was the father of Eber. 25 Eber had two sons. One was named Peleg. That’s because the earth was divided up in his time. His brother was named Joktan. 26 Joktan was the father of Almodad, Sheleph, Hazarmaveth, Jerah, 27 Hadoram, Uzal, Diklah, 28 Obal, Abimael, Sheba, 29 Ophir, Havilah and Jobab. They were all sons of Joktan. 30 The area where they lived stretched from Mesha towards Sephar. It was in the eastern hill country. 31 These are the sons of Shem. They are listed by their tribes and languages in their territories and nations. 32 These are the tribes of Noah’s sons. They are listed by their family lines within their nations. From them the nations spread out over the earth after the flood.
