1 Weiter nun, ihr Brüder, bitten und ermahnen wir euch in dem Herrn Jesus, dass ihr in dem noch mehr zunehmt, was ihr von uns empfangen habt, nämlich wie ihr wandeln und Gott gefallen sollt. (Joh 8,29; Apg 7,38; 1Kor 15,58; Kol 1,10; 1Thess 1,6; 1Thess 2,12; 1Thess 2,13; 1Thess 4,10; 2Petr 3,2) 2 Denn ihr wisst, welche Gebote wir euch gegeben haben im Auftrag des Herrn Jesus. (Mt 28,20) 3 Denn das ist der Wille Gottes, eure Heiligung, dass ihr euch der Unzucht[1] enthaltet; (Apg 15,20; Röm 12,2; 1Kor 6,7; Eph 5,17; Kol 1,9; Kol 3,5; 1Thess 5,23; Hebr 10,10; Hebr 12,14; 1Petr 1,15) 4 dass es jeder von euch versteht, sein eigenes Gefäß[2] in Heiligung und Ehrbarkeit in Besitz zu nehmen, (1Kor 6,19; 2Tim 2,20; 1Petr 3,7) 5 nicht mit leidenschaftlicher Begierde wie die Heiden, die Gott nicht kennen; (Gal 4,8; Gal 5,24; Eph 4,17; 1Petr 4,3) 6 dass niemand zu weit geht und seinen Bruder in dieser Angelegenheit übervorteilt; denn der Herr ist ein Rächer für alle diese Dinge, wie wir euch zuvor gesagt und ernstlich bezeugt haben. (3Mo 19,11; Nah 1,2; Röm 12,18; 1Kor 6,7) 7 Denn Gott hat uns nicht zur Unreinheit berufen, sondern zur Heiligung. (3Mo 11,44; Eph 1,4; 1Thess 4,3; 2Tim 1,9) 8 Deshalb — wer dies verwirft, der verwirft nicht Menschen, sondern Gott, der doch seinen Heiligen Geist in uns gegeben hat. (Lk 10,16; Röm 5,5; 2Kor 1,21; 1Joh 2,27) 



9 Über die Bruderliebe aber braucht man euch nicht zu schreiben; denn ihr seid selbst von Gott gelehrt, einander zu lieben, (Joh 6,45; Joh 13,34; 1Petr 1,22; 1Joh 3,16) 10 und das tut ihr auch an allen Brüdern, die in ganz Mazedonien sind. Wir ermahnen euch aber, ihr Brüder, dass ihr darin noch mehr zunehmt (Phil 1,9; 1Thess 3,12) 11 und eure Ehre darin sucht, ein stilles Leben zu führen, eure eigenen Angelegenheiten zu besorgen und mit euren eigenen Händen zu arbeiten, so wie wir es euch geboten haben, (Apg 20,35; Eph 4,28; 2Thess 3,11) 12 damit ihr anständig wandelt gegenüber denen außerhalb [der Gemeinde] und niemand nötig habt. (2Kor 8,21; 1Petr 2,12) 



13 Ich will euch aber, Brüder, nicht in Unwissenheit lassen über die Entschlafenen, damit ihr nicht traurig seid wie die anderen, die keine Hoffnung haben. (1Kor 15,51; Eph 2,12) 14 Denn wenn wir glauben, dass Jesus gestorben und auferstanden ist, so wird Gott auch die Entschlafenen durch Jesus mit ihm führen. (Röm 8,11; 1Kor 15,20; Kol 3,4) 15 Denn das sagen wir euch in einem Wort des Herrn: Wir, die wir leben und bis zur Wiederkunft des Herrn übrig bleiben, werden den Entschlafenen nicht zuvorkommen; (Mk 13,26; 1Kor 15,51; 1Thess 3,13) 16 denn der Herr selbst wird, wenn der Befehl ergeht und die Stimme des Erzengels und die Posaune Gottes erschallt, vom Himmel herabkommen, und die Toten in Christus werden zuerst auferstehen. (Mt 24,31; Apg 1,11; 1Kor 15,23; 1Kor 15,52; Offb 20,5) 17 Danach werden wir, die wir leben und übrig bleiben, zusammen mit ihnen entrückt[3] werden in Wolken, zur Begegnung mit dem Herrn, in die Luft, und so werden wir bei dem Herrn sein allezeit. (Joh 12,26; Joh 14,3; 2Thess 2,1; Offb 11,12) 18 So tröstet nun einander mit diesen Worten! (Jes 40,1; 1Thess 4,13; 1Thess 5,11)

1 Finally, then, brothers,[1] we ask and urge you in the Lord Jesus, that as you received from us how you ought to walk and to please God, just as you are doing, that you do so more and more. (Eph 4,1; Phil 4,9; Kol 1,10; Kol 2,6; 1Thess 3,12) 2 For you know what instructions we gave you through the Lord Jesus. (1Kor 11,2) 3 For this is the will of God, your sanctification:[2] that you abstain from sexual immorality; (Röm 6,19; Röm 6,22; 1Kor 1,30; 1Kor 6,18; 2Thess 2,13; 1Tim 2,15; Hebr 12,14; 1Petr 1,2) 4 that each one of you know how to control his own body[3] in holiness and honor, (Röm 1,24; 2Kor 4,7; 1Petr 3,7) 5 not in the passion of lust like the Gentiles who do not know God; (Ps 79,6; Jer 9,3; Jer 10,25; Röm 1,26; Gal 4,8; Eph 4,17) 6 that no one transgress and wrong his brother in this matter, because the Lord is an avenger in all these things, as we told you beforehand and solemnly warned you. (Röm 12,19; Röm 13,4; 1Kor 6,8; Hebr 13,4) 7 For God has not called us for impurity, but in holiness. (1Thess 2,3; 1Thess 4,3; 1Petr 1,15) 8 Therefore whoever disregards this, disregards not man but God, who gives his Holy Spirit to you. (Lk 10,16; 1Thess 2,13; 1Joh 3,24; 1Joh 4,13) 9 Now concerning brotherly love you have no need for anyone to write to you, for you yourselves have been taught by God to love one another, (Joh 6,45; Joh 13,34; 1Thess 5,1; Hebr 13,1; 1Joh 2,27) 10 for that indeed is what you are doing to all the brothers throughout Macedonia. But we urge you, brothers, to do this more and more, (1Thess 1,7; 1Thess 3,12) 11 and to aspire to live quietly, and to mind your own affairs, and to work with your hands, as we instructed you, (Spr 17,14; Spr 20,3; Spr 25,8; Apg 18,3; Eph 4,28; 2Thess 3,11; 2Thess 3,12; 1Petr 4,15) 12 so that you may walk properly before outsiders and be dependent on no one. (Mk 4,11; Röm 13,13; Kol 4,5) 



13 But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope. (3Mo 19,28; 5Mo 14,1; 2Sam 12,20; Mk 5,39; Eph 2,12) 14 For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep. (1Kor 15,13; 1Kor 15,18; 2Kor 4,14; Offb 1,18) 15 For this we declare to you by a word from the Lord,[4] that we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep. (1Kön 13,17; 1Kor 15,51; 1Thess 2,19) 16 For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. (Joe 2,11; Mt 16,27; Mt 24,31; 1Kor 15,23; 1Kor 15,52; 2Thess 1,7; 2Thess 2,1; Jud 1,9; Offb 14,13) 17 Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord. (Dan 7,13; Joh 12,26; Apg 1,9; 2Kor 12,2; Offb 11,12) 18 Therefore encourage one another with these words.
