David verschont Sauls Leben in der Höhle von En-Gedi
1Und David zog von dort hinauf und blieb auf den Berghöhen von En-Gedi. (Jos 15,62; 2Chr 20,2; Hl 1,14; Hes 47,10)2Und es geschah, als Saul von der Verfolgung der Philister zurückkehrte, da wurde ihm berichtet: Siehe, David ist in der Wüste von En-Gedi! (1Sam 23,27)3Und Saul nahm 3 000 auserlesene Männer aus ganz Israel und zog hin, um David samt seinen Männern zu suchen, auf den Steinbockfelsen. (Ps 104,18)4Und als er zu den Schafhürden am Weg kam, war dort eine Höhle; und Saul ging hinein, um seine Füße zu bedecken.[1] David aber und seine Männer saßen hinten in der Höhle. (1Sam 26,9; 2Sam 1,14)8So hielt David seine Männer mit diesen Worten zurück und ließ ihnen nicht zu, sich gegen Saul zu erheben. Saul aber machte sich auf aus der Höhle und ging seines Weges. 1[1] When Saul returned from following the Philistines, he was told, “Behold, David is in the wilderness of Engedi.” (1Sam 23,28)2Then Saul took three thousand chosen men out of all Israel and went to seek David and his men in front of the Wildgoats’ Rocks. (1Sam 26,2)3And he came to the sheepfolds by the way, where there was a cave, and Saul went in to relieve himself.[2] Now David and his men were sitting in the innermost parts of the cave. (Ri 3,24)4And the men of David said to him, “Here is the day of which the Lord said to you, ‘Behold, I will give your enemy into your hand, and you shall do to him as it shall seem good to you.’” Then David arose and stealthily cut off a corner of Saul’s robe. (1Sam 24,7; 1Sam 26,8)5And afterward David’s heart struck him, because he had cut off a corner of Saul’s robe.
