Krieg gegen Amalek. Sauls Ungehorsam und Verwerfung

3 So ziehe nun hin und schlage Amalek, und vollstrecke den Bann an allem, was er hat, und schone ihn nicht; sondern töte Männer und Frauen, Kinder und Säuglinge, Rinder und Schafe, Kamele und Esel! 7 Da schlug Saul Amalek, von Hewila an bis nach Schur, das östlich von Ägypten liegt, (1Mo 25,18; 2Mo 15,22; 1Sam 15,2; 1Sam 27,8)

8 und er nahm Agag, den König von Amalek, lebendig gefangen; dagegen vollstreckte er den Bann an dem ganzen Volk mit der Schärfe des Schwertes. 10 Da erging das Wort des HERRN an Samuel folgendermaßen: 11 Es reut mich, dass ich Saul zum König gemacht habe; denn er hat sich von mir abgewandt und meine Worte nicht erfüllt! 12 Und Samuel machte sich früh auf, um Saul am Morgen zu begegnen. Und es wurde dem Samuel berichtet: Saul ist nach Karmel gekommen, und siehe, er hat sich ein Denkmal aufgerichtet; danach hat er eine Schwenkung gemacht, ist hinübergezogen und nach Gilgal hinabgestiegen. The Lord Rejects Saul

1 And Samuel said to Saul, “The Lord sent me to anoint you king over his people Israel; now therefore listen to the words of the Lord. (1Sam 9,16) 2 Thus says the Lord of hosts, ‘I have noted what Amalek did to Israel in opposing them on the way when they came up out of Egypt. 24 Saul said to Samuel, “I have sinned, for I have transgressed the commandment of the Lord and your words, because I feared the people and obeyed their voice.
