1Abraham aber zog von dort in den Negev und wohnte zwischen Kadesch und Schur, und er hielt sich als Fremdling in Gerar auf. (1Mo 10,19; 1Mo 13,1; 1Mo 16,7; 1Mo 24,62; 1Mo 26,6)2Und Abraham sagte von seiner Frau Sarah: Sie ist meine Schwester. Da ließ Abimelech, der König von Gerar, Sarah holen. (1Mo 12,13; 1Mo 12,15; 1Mo 26,7)3Aber Gott kam nachts im Traum zu Abimelech und sprach zu ihm: Siehe, du bist des Todes wegen der Frau, die du genommen hast; denn sie ist die Ehefrau eines Mannes! (1Mo 31,24; Hi 33,15; Ps 105,14; Mt 2,12; Mt 27,19)4Abimelech aber hatte sich ihr noch nicht genähert, und er sprach: Herr, willst du denn auch ein gerechtes Volk umbringen? (1Mo 18,23; 1Chr 21,17)5Hat er nicht zu mir gesagt: »Sie ist meine Schwester?« Und auch sie selbst hat gesagt: »Er ist mein Bruder!« Habe ich doch dies mit aufrichtigem Herzen und unschuldigen Händen getan! (Ps 7,9; Ps 24,4)6Und Gott sprach zu ihm im Traum: Auch ich weiß, dass du dies mit aufrichtigem Herzen getan hast; darum habe ich dich auch bewahrt, dass du nicht gegen mich sündigst, und darum habe ich es dir nicht gestattet, dass du sie berührst. Du hast nicht mit mir gehandelt, wie man handeln soll! (1Mo 26,10; 2Mo 32,21)10Und Abimelech fragte Abraham: In welcher Absicht hast du dies getan? (1Chr 12,17)11Da sprach Abraham: Weil ich dachte: Es ist gar keine Gottesfurcht an diesem Ort, darum werden sie mich wegen meiner Frau umbringen! (Ps 36,2; Mt 10,16)12Auch ist sie wahrhaftig meine Schwester; denn sie ist die Tochter meines Vaters, aber nicht die Tochter meiner Mutter, und so ist sie meine Frau geworden. (1Mo 12,13)13Und es geschah, als mich Gott aus dem Haus meines Vaters führte, da sprach ich zu ihr: Das musst du mir zuliebe tun, dass du überall, wo wir hinkommen, von mir sagst: Er ist mein Bruder! (5Mo 26,5; 1Chr 16,20)14Da nahm Abimelech Schafe und Rinder, Knechte und Mägde und schenkte sie Abraham und gab ihm seine Frau Sarah zurück. (1Mo 13,9; 1Mo 47,5)16Aber zu Sarah sprach er: Siehe, ich habe deinem Bruder 1 000 Silberlinge[1] gegeben; siehe, das soll dir eine Decke der Augen sein für alle, die um dich sind, damit du in jeder Weise gerechtfertigt bist![2]17Abraham aber legte Fürbitte ein bei Gott. Da heilte Gott Abimelech und seine Frau und seine Mägde, dass sie wieder Kinder gebären konnten. 1From there Abraham journeyed toward the territory of the Negeb and lived between Kadesh and Shur; and he sojourned in Gerar. (1Mo 16,7; 1Mo 16,14; 1Mo 26,3; 1Mo 26,6)2And Abraham said of Sarah his wife, “She is my sister.” And Abimelech king of Gerar sent and took Sarah. (1Mo 12,13; 1Mo 26,7)3But God came to Abimelech in a dream by night and said to him, “Behold, you are a dead man because of the woman whom you have taken, for she is a man’s wife.” (Hi 33,15; Ps 105,14; Mt 1,20; Mt 2,12)4Now Abimelech had not approached her. So he said, “Lord, will you kill an innocent people? (1Mo 18,23; 1Chr 21,17)5Did he not himself say to me, ‘She is my sister’? It is a sign of your innocence in the eyes of all[1] who are with you, and before everyone you are vindicated.” (1Mo 20,5; 1Mo 24,65)17Then Abraham prayed to God, and God healed Abimelech, and also healed his wife and female slaves so that they bore children.
