Der Bau des Tempels

1 Und es geschah im vierhundertachtzigsten Jahr nach dem Auszug der Kinder Israels aus dem Land Ägypten, im vierten Jahr der Regierung Salomos über Israel, im Monat Siv, das ist der zweite Monat, da baute er dem HERRN das Haus. 3 Und die Vorhalle vor der Tempelhalle des Hauses:^[2] 20 Ellen lang, gemäß der Breite des Hauses, und 10 Ellen breit, vor dem Haus her. (1Chr 28,12; Hes 41,15; Joh 10,23; Apg 3,10)

4 Und er machte am Haus Fenster mit fest eingefügtem Gitterwerk. (Hl 2,9; Hes 40,16; Hes 41,26) 5 Und er baute an die Wand des Hauses einen Anbau ringsum, an die Wände des Hauses ringsum, sowohl der Tempelhalle als auch des Sprachortes,^[3] und erstellte Seitenräume ringsum. 6 Das unterste Stockwerk war 5 Ellen breit, das mittlere 6 Ellen und das dritte 7 Ellen breit; denn er machte Absätze an der Außenseite des Hauses ringsum, sodass sie nicht in die Wände des Hauses eingriffen. (1Kön 6,10) 7 Und als das Haus erbaut wurde, da wurde es aus Steinen gebaut, die fertig behauen aus dem Bruch kamen, sodass man weder Hammer noch Meißel, noch sonst ein eisernes Werkzeug im Haus hörte, während es erbaut wurde. (5Mo 27,5; 1Kön 5,31) 8 Der Eingang zum mittleren Stockwerk befand sich an der rechten Seite des Hauses, und man stieg auf Wendeltreppen hinauf zum mittleren und vom mittleren zum dritten Stockwerk. (Hes 41,6) 9 So baute er das Haus und vollendete es; und er deckte das Haus mit Brettern und Balkenreihen aus Zedernholz. (2Chr 3,5) 10 Er baute auch den Anbau am ganzen Haus, 5 Ellen hoch, und verband ihn mit dem Haus durch Zedernbalken. 15 Und er verkleidete die Wände des Hauses inwendig mit Brettern von Zedern, vom Boden des Hauses an bis zum Mauerwerk der Decke, und täfelte es inwendig mit Holz und belegte den Boden des Hauses mit Brettern aus Zypressenholz. (2Chr 3,5; Sach 11,1) 16 Und er baute [einen Abschnitt] von 20 Ellen von der hinteren Seite des Hauses her mit Zedernbrettern, vom Boden bis zum Mauerwerk, und baute es für ihn inwendig aus zum Sprachort, zum Allerheiligsten. 17 Und das Haus, das ist die Tempelhalle, war 40 Ellen lang vor [dem Sprachort]. (Hes 41,2) 18 Und das Zedernholz inwendig am Haus war Schnitzwerk von Koloquinten und offenen Blumen. Alles war aus Zedernholz, sodass man keinen Stein sah. (2Mo 25,31; 2Mo 25,33; 1Kön 6,29; 1Kön 6,32; 1Kön 6,35)

19 Und den Sprachort richtete er im Inneren des Hauses her, um die Bundeslade des HERRN dorthin zu stellen. (1Kön 6,16) 20 Und das Innere des Sprachortes: 20 Ellen lang und 20 Ellen breit und 20 Ellen hoch. Er überzog ihn mit feinem Gold; auch den Altar aus Zedernholz überzog er damit. 21 Und Salomo überzog das Haus inwendig mit feinem Gold, und er zog goldene Ketten vor dem Sprachort her, den er mit Gold überzogen hatte. (2Mo 26,32) 22 Und das ganze Haus überzog er mit Gold, das ganze Haus vollständig. Auch den ganzen Altar, der zum Sprachort gehörte, überzog er mit Gold. 24 Der eine Flügel des Cherubs maß 5 Ellen und der andere Flügel des Cherubs 5 Ellen; 10 Ellen waren es vom Ende des einen Flügels bis zum Ende des anderen Flügels. 25 Auch der andere Cherub hatte 10 Ellen [Flügelweite]. Beide Cherubim hatten ein Maß und eine Form. 26 Die Höhe des einen Cherubs betrug 10 Ellen, ebenso die Höhe des anderen Cherubs. 27 Und er stellte die Cherubim ins innerste Haus. Und die Cherubim breiteten ihre Flügel aus, sodass der Flügel des einen Cherubs die eine Wand und der Flügel des anderen Cherubs die andere Wand berührte. Und in der Mitte des Hauses berührte ein Flügel den anderen. (2Mo 25,20; 1Kön 8,6; 2Chr 5,8) 28 Und er überzog die Cherubim mit Gold. (1Kön 6,22) 29 Und an allen Wänden des Hauses ließ er Schnitzwerk anbringen von Cherubim und Palmen und offenen Blumen, innerhalb und außerhalb. 30 Auch den Boden des Hauses überzog er mit Gold, innerhalb und außerhalb. (1Kön 6,20; 1Kön 6,22) 31 Den Eingang zum Sprachort versah er mit Türen aus Ölbaumholz. Die Türfassungen bildeten einen fünffach gestaffelten Rahmen. (2Mo 26,36; Hes 41,23; Joh 10,7; Joh 10,9)

32 Und er machte zwei Türflügel aus Ölbaumholz und ließ darauf Schnitzwerk von Cherubim, Palmen und offenen Blumen anbringen und überzog sie mit Gold; und auf die Cherubim und die Palmen hämmerte er das Gold. (1Kön 6,29) 33 Und ebenso machte er für den Eingang der Tempelhalle Türfassungen aus Ölbaumholz, mit einem vierfach gestaffelten Rahmen, (1Kön 6,31) 34 und zwei Türflügel aus Zypressenholz; aus zwei drehbaren Blättern bestand der eine Flügel und aus zwei drehbaren Blättern der andere Flügel. (Hes 41,23) 35 Und er machte darauf Schnitzwerk von Cherubim, Palmen und offenen Blumen und überzog sie mit Gold, das dem Schnitzwerk angepasst war. (1Kön 6,18) 36 Auch baute er den inneren Vorhof mit drei Lagen Quadersteinen und einer Lage Zedernbalken. (2Chr 4,9; 2Chr 7,7; Offb 11,2) 37 Im vierten Jahr, im Monat Siv, wurde der Grund zum Haus des HERRN gelegt; (1Kön 6,1; 2Chr 3,2) 38 und im elften Jahr, im Monat Bul, das ist im achten Monat, wurde das Haus vollendet nach allen seinen Plänen und Vorschriften, sodass er sieben Jahre lang daran gebaut hatte. Solomon Builds the Temple

1 In the four hundred and eightieth year after the people of Israel came out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon’s reign over Israel, in the month of Ziv, which is the second month, he began to build the house of the Lord. (2Chr 3,1; Apg 7,47) 2 The house that King Solomon built for the Lord was sixty cubits^[1] long, twenty cubits wide, and thirty cubits high. 6 The lowest story^[4] was five cubits broad, the middle one was six cubits broad, and the third was seven cubits broad. For around the outside of the house he made offsets on the wall in order that the supporting beams should not be inserted into the walls of the house. 7 When the house was built, it was with stone prepared at the quarry, so that neither hammer nor axe nor any tool of iron was heard in the house while it was being built. (5Mo 27,5; 1Kön 5,18) 8 The entrance for the lowest^[5] story was on the south side of the house, and one went up by stairs to the middle story, and from the middle story to the third. 9 So he built the house and finished it, and he made the ceiling of the house of beams and planks of cedar. (1Kön 6,14; 1Kön 6,38) 10 He built the structure against the whole house, five cubits high, and it was joined to the house with timbers of cedar. 11 Now the word of the Lord came to Solomon, 12 “Concerning this house that you are building, if you will walk in my statutes and obey my rules and keep all my commandments and walk in them, then I will establish my word with you, which I spoke to David your father. 14 So Solomon built the house and finished it. (1Kön 6,9; 1Kön 6,38) 15 He lined the walls of the house on the inside with boards of cedar. From the floor of the house to the walls of the ceiling, he covered them on the inside with wood, and he covered the floor of the house with boards of cypress. (1Kön 7,7) 16 He built twenty cubits of the rear of the house with boards of cedar from the floor to the walls, and he built this within as an inner sanctuary, as the Most Holy Place. 17 The house, that is, the nave in front of the inner sanctuary, was forty cubits long. 18 The cedar within the house was carved in the form of gourds and open flowers. All was cedar; no stone was seen. (1Kön 7,24) 19 The inner sanctuary he prepared in the innermost part of the house, to set there the ark of the covenant of the Lord. 20 The inner sanctuary^[6] was twenty cubits long, twenty cubits wide, and twenty cubits high, and he overlaid it with pure gold. He also overlaid^[7] an altar of cedar. 21 And Solomon overlaid the inside of the house with pure gold, and he drew chains of gold across, in front of the inner sanctuary, and overlaid it with gold. 22 And he overlaid the whole house with gold, until all the house was finished. (2Mo 37,7; 2Chr 3,10) 24 Five cubits was the length of one wing of the cherub, and five cubits the length of the other wing of the cherub; it was ten cubits from the tip of one wing to the tip of the other. 25 The other cherub also measured ten cubits; both cherubim had the same measure and the same form. 26 The height of one cherub was ten cubits, and so was that of the other cherub. 27 He put the cherubim in the innermost part of the house. And the wings of the cherubim were spread out so that a wing of one touched the one wall, and a wing of the other cherub touched the other wall; their other wings touched each other in the middle of the house. 28 And he overlaid the cherubim with gold. 29 Around all the walls of the house he carved engraved figures of cherubim and palm trees and open flowers, in the inner and outer rooms. 30 The floor of the house he overlaid with gold in the inner and outer rooms. 31 For the entrance to the inner sanctuary he made doors of olivewood; the lintel and the doorposts were five-sided.^[8] 32 He covered the two doors of olivewood with carvings of cherubim, palm trees, and open flowers. He overlaid them with gold and spread gold on the cherubim and on the palm trees. 33 So also he made for the entrance to the nave doorposts of olivewood, in the form of a square, 34 and two doors of cypress wood. The two leaves of the one door were folding, and the two leaves of the other door were folding. (Hes 41,24) 35 On them he carved cherubim and palm trees and open flowers, and he overlaid them with gold evenly applied on the carved work. 36 He built the inner court with three courses of cut stone and one course of cedar beams. (1Kön 7,12) 37 In the fourth year the foundation of the house of the Lord was laid, in the month of Ziv. (1Kön 6,1) 38 And in the eleventh year, in the month of Bul, which is the eighth month, the house was finished in all its parts, and according to all its specifications. He was seven years in building it.
