1Lăudați‑L pe DOMNUL![1] Ferice de omul care se teme de și care găsește o mare plăcere în poruncile Lui!2Sămânța[2] lui va fi puternică în țară; generația celor drepți va fi binecuvântată.3Bogăție și belșug sunt în casa lui, iar dreptatea sa rămâne pe vecie.4O lumină strălucește în întuneric pentru cei drepți, pentru cel ce este plin de har, milostiv și drept.[3]5Îi merge bine omului care arată bunăvoință și împrumută, care își sprijină faptele cu dreptate.6Niciodată nu se va clătina. Cel drept va fi amintit întotdeauna.7El nu se teme de vești rele, căci inima lui este tare și se încrede în DOMNUL.8Inima lui este tare și nu se teme; el își va vedea împlinită dorința față de vrăjmașii săi.9A împărțit, a dăruit celor nevoiași; dreptatea lui rămâne pe vecie; cornul[4] îi va fi înălțat cu onoare.[5] (Ps 18:2)10Cel rău vede aceasta și se mânie, scrâșnește din dinți și leșină; dorințele celor răi tot neîmplinite rămân.

1Praise the LORD. Blessed are those who have respect for the LORD. They find great delight when they obey God’s commands.2Their children will be powerful in the land. Because they are honest, their children will be blessed.3Their family will have wealth and riches. They will always be blessed for doing what is right.4Even in the darkness light shines on honest people. It shines on those who are kind and tender and godly.5Good things will come to those who are willing to lend freely. Good things will come to those who are fair in everything they do.6Those who do what is right will always be secure. They will be remembered for ever.7They aren’t afraid when bad news comes. They stand firm because they trust in the LORD.8Their hearts are secure. They aren’t afraid. In the end they will see their enemies destroyed.9They have spread their gifts around to poor people. Their good works continue for ever. They will be powerful and honoured.10Evil people will see it and be upset. They will grind their teeth and become weaker and weaker. What evil people long to do can’t succeed.
