Vindecarea unui bolnav de lepră

1 Când a coborât Isus de pe munte, L‑au urmat mari mulțimi de oameni. (Mar 1:40; Lu 5:12) 2 Și iată că un lepros^[1] s‑a apropiat și I s‑a închinat, zicând: – Doamne, dacă vrei, poți să mă curățești^[2]! (Lev 13:1; Lev 13:2) 3 Isus a întins mâna, l‑a atins și a zis: – Da, vreau. Fii curățit! Și imediat lepra lui a fost curățită. 4 Isus i‑a zis: – Vezi să nu spui nimănui, ci du‑te, arată‑te preotului și adu darul pe care l‑a poruncit Moise^[3], ca mărturie pentru ei. (Lev 14:1)

Credința centurionului

5 Când a intrat Isus în Capernaum, s‑a apropiat de El un centurion^[4] care L‑a rugat (Lu 7:1; Lu 13:28) 6 și I‑a zis: – Doamne, slujitorul meu zace paralizat în casă și se chinuie cumplit! 7 Isus i‑a zis: – Voi veni și‑l voi vindeca.^[5] 8 Dar centurionul, răspunzând, a zis: – Doamne, nu sunt vrednic să intri sub acoperișul meu! Prin urmare, spune doar un cuvânt, iar slujitorul meu va fi vindecat! 9 Căci și eu sunt un om sub autoritate și am soldați în subordinea mea. Îi spun unuia: „Du‑te!“, și el se duce; și altuia: „Vino!“, și el vine; și sclavului meu: „Fă asta!“, și el face. 10 Isus a rămas uimit când l‑a auzit și le‑a zis celor care‑L urmau: – Adevărat vă spun că la nimeni în Israel n‑am găsit atâta credință! 11 Și vă spun că vor veni mulți de la Răsărit și de la Apus și se vor așeza la masă^[6] cu Avraam, Isaac și Iacov, în Împărăția Cerurilor. 12 Dar fiii Împărăției vor fi alungați în întunericul de afară. Acolo va fi plânsul și scrâșnirea dinților! 13 Apoi Isus i‑a zis centurionului: – Du‑te! Facă‑ți‑se după cum ai crezut! Și slujitorul acestuia a fost vindecat chiar la ora aceea.

Isus vindecă mai mulți bolnavi

14 Când a intrat Isus în casa lui Petru, a văzut‑o pe soacra acestuia zăcând la pat și având febră. (Mar 1:29; Lu 4:38) 15 El i‑a atins mâna și febra a lăsat‑o. Și ea s‑a ridicat și a început să‑I slujească. 16 Când s‑a lăsat seara, i‑au adus la El pe mulți demonizați, iar El a alungat duhurile prin cuvântul Lui și i‑a vindecat pe toți cei bolnavi, 17 ca să se împlinească ceea ce a fost spus prin profetul Isaia, care zice: „El a luat neputințele noastre și a purtat bolile noastre“^[7]. Prețul urmării lui Isus

18 Când a văzut Isus mulțimea din jurul Lui, le‑a poruncit ucenicilor să treacă de cealaltă parte a mării. (Lu 9:57) 19 Atunci un cărturar s‑a apropiat și I‑a zis: – Învățătorule, Te voi urma oriunde vei merge! 20 Însă Isus i‑a spus: – Vulpile au vizuini și păsările cerului au cuiburi, dar Fiul Omului^[8] nu are unde să‑Și plece capul. (Dan 7:13) 21 Un altul dintre ucenicii Săi I‑a zis: – Doamne, dă‑mi voie mai întâi să mă duc să‑l înmormântez pe tatăl meu!^[9] (Lu 9:59) 22 Dar Isus i‑a zis: – Urmează‑Mă și lasă morții să‑și înmormânteze morții!^[10]

Isus liniștește furtuna

23 Apoi S‑a urcat în barcă, iar ucenicii Săi L‑au urmat. (Mar 4:36; Lu 8:22) 24 Și iată că pe mare s‑a stârnit o furtună puternică, astfel încât barca a fost acoperită de valuri;^[11] Isus însă dormea. 25 Ucenicii s‑au apropiat și L‑au trezit, zicând: – Doamne, scapă‑ne, căci pierim! 26 Însă El le‑a zis: – De ce sunteți fricoși, puțin credincioșilor? Apoi, ridicându‑Se, a mustrat vânturile și marea și s‑a făcut o liniște mare. 27 Oamenii au rămas uimiți și au zis: – Ce fel de Om este Acesta, de‑L ascultă până și vânturile, și marea?!^[12] (Iov 38:8; Ps 65:5; Ps 89:9; Ps 107:23)

Vindecarea celor doi gadareni demonizați

28 Când a ajuns de cealaltă parte a mării, în ținutul gadarenilor^[13], L‑au întâmpinat doi demonizați, ieșind din morminte. Erau atât de cumpliți, încât nimeni nu putea să treacă pe drumul acela. (Mar 5:1; Lu 8:26) 29 Și iată că au început să strige, zicând: – Ce avem noi de‑a face cu Tine, Fiu al lui Dumnezeu? Ai venit aici să ne chinui înainte de vreme? 30 Undeva mai departe de ei, era o turmă mare de porci care pășteau. 31 Demonii Îl rugau, zicând: – Dacă ne alungi, trimite‑ne în turma aceea de porci! 32 El le‑a zis: – Duceți‑vă! Ei au ieșit și au intrat în porci. Și iată că întreaga turmă s‑a repezit pe râpă în jos, în mare^[14], și a murit în ape. Jesus heals a man who had a skin disease

1 Jesus came down from the mountainside. Large crowds followed him. 2 A man who had a skin disease came and got down on his knees in front of Jesus. He said, ‘Lord, if you are willing to make me “clean”, you can do it.’ 3 Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. ‘I am willing to do it,’ he said. ‘Be “clean”!’ Right away the man was healed of his skin disease. 4 Then Jesus said to him, ‘Don’t tell anyone. Go and show yourself to the priest, and offer the gift Moses commanded. It will be a witness to everyone.’

A Roman commander has faith

5 When Jesus entered Capernaum, a Roman commander came to him. He asked Jesus for help. 6 ‘Lord’, he said, ‘my servant lies at home and can’t move. He is suffering terribly.’ 7 Jesus said, ‘Shall I come and heal him?’ 8 The commander replied, ‘Lord, I am not good enough to have you come into my house. But just say the word, and my servant will be healed. 9 I myself am a man under authority. And I have soldiers who obey my orders. I tell this one, “Go”, and he goes. I tell that one, “Come”, and he comes. I say to my slave, “Do this”, and he does it.’ 10 When Jesus heard this, he was amazed. He said to those following him, ‘What I’m about to tell you is true. In Israel I have not found anyone whose faith is so strong. 11 I say to you that many will come from the east and the west. They will take their places at the feast in the kingdom of heaven. They will sit with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. 12 But those who think they belong in the kingdom will be thrown outside, into the darkness. There they will weep and grind their teeth.’ 13 Then Jesus said to the Roman commander, ‘Go! It will be done just as you believed it would.’ And his servant was healed at that moment.

Jesus heals many people

14 When Jesus came into Peter’s house, he saw Peter’s mother-in-law. She was lying in bed. She had a fever. 15 Jesus touched her hand, and the fever left her. She got up and began to serve him. 16 When evening came, many people controlled by demons were brought to Jesus. He drove out the spirits with a word. He healed all who were ill. 17 This happened so that what Isaiah the prophet had said would come true. He had said, ‘He suffered the things we should have suffered. He took on himself the diseases that should have been ours.’ (Is 53:4)

The cost of following Jesus

18 Jesus saw the crowd around him. So he gave his disciples orders to go to the other side of the Sea of Galilee. 19 Then a teacher of the law came to him. He said, ‘Teacher, I will follow you no matter where you go.’ 20 Jesus replied, ‘Foxes have dens. Birds have nests. But the Son of Man has no place to lay his head.’ 21 Another follower said to him, ‘Lord, first let me go and bury my father.’ 22 But Jesus told him, ‘Follow me. Let the dead bury their own dead.’

Jesus calms the storm

23 Jesus got into a boat. His disciples followed him. 24 Suddenly a terrible storm came up on the lake. The waves crashed over the boat. But Jesus was sleeping. 25 The disciples went and woke him up. They said, ‘Lord! Save us! We’re going to drown!’ 26 He replied, ‘Your faith is so small! Why are you so afraid?’ Then Jesus got up and ordered the winds and the waves to stop. It became completely calm. 27 The disciples were amazed. They asked, ‘What kind of man is this? Even the winds and the waves obey him!’

Jesus heals two men controlled by demons

28 Jesus arrived at the other side of the lake in the area of the Gadarenes. Two men controlled by demons met him. They came from the tombs. The men were so wild that no one could pass that way. 29 ‘Son of God, what do you want with us?’ they shouted. ‘Have you come here to punish us before the time for us to be judged?’ 30 Not very far away, a large herd of pigs was feeding. 31 The demons begged Jesus, ‘If you drive us out, send us into the herd of pigs.’ 32 Jesus said to them, ‘Go!’ So the demons came out of the men and went into the pigs. The whole herd rushed down the steep bank. They ran into the lake and drowned in the water. 33 Those who were tending the pigs ran off. They went into the town and reported all this. They told the people what had happened to the men who had been controlled by demons. 34 Then the whole town went out to meet Jesus. When they saw him, they begged him to leave their area.
