1 Так говорит Господь: – Я поднимаю губительный вихрь^[1] на Вавилон и жителей Лев-Камая^[2]. 2 Я пошлю в Вавилон иноземцев, они развеют его и разграбят его землю, обступят его со всех сторон в день бедствий. 3 Не давайте лучнику натянуть лук, не давайте надеть кольчугу. Не щадите юношей Вавилона, полностью истребите его войско. 4 Падут они мертвыми на земле халдейской, смертельно ранеными на его улицах. 5 Ведь Израиль с Иудеей не покинуты их Богом, Господом Сил, хотя их земля^[3] и полна греха перед Святым Израиля. 6 Бегите из Вавилона! The Utter Destruction of Babylon

1 Thus says the Lord: “Behold, I will stir up the spirit of a destroyer against Babylon, against the inhabitants of Leb-kamai,^[1] (Jes 21,1; Jer 4,11) 2 and I will send to Babylon winnowers, and they shall winnow her, and they shall empty her land, when they come against her from every side on the day of trouble. (Jer 2,28; Jer 15,7; Mt 3,12) 3 Let not the archer bend his bow, and let him not stand up in his armor. Spare not her young men; devote to destruction^[2] all her army. (Jer 50,14; Jer 50,21; Jer 50,29) 4 They shall fall down slain in the land of the Chaldeans, and wounded in her streets. (Jer 49,26) 5 For Israel and Judah have not been forsaken by their God, the Lord of hosts, but the land of the Chaldeans^[3] is full of guilt against the Holy One of Israel. 59 The word that Jeremiah the prophet commanded Seraiah the son of Neriah, son of Mahseiah, when he went with Zedekiah king of Judah to Babylon, in the fourth year of his reign. Seraiah was the quartermaster. (Jer 28,1; Jer 32,12) 60 Jeremiah wrote in a book all the disaster that should come upon Babylon, all these words that are written concerning Babylon.
