Salmo 110

1 Salmo di Davide. Il Signore ha detto al mio Signore: «Siedi alla mia destra finché io abbia fatto dei tuoi nemici lo sgabello dei tuoi piedi[1]».2 Il Signore stenderà da Sion lo scettro del tuo potere. Domina in mezzo ai tuoi nemici!3 Il tuo popolo si offre volenteroso quando raduni il tuo esercito. Parata di santità, dal seno dell’alba la tua gioventù viene a te come rugiada.4 Il Signore ha giurato e non si pentirà: «Tu sei Sacerdote in eterno, secondo l’ordine di Melchisedec[2]».5 Il Signore, alla tua destra, schiaccia dei re nel giorno della sua ira,6 giudica i popoli, ammucchia i cadaveri, stritola la testa ai nemici in un vasto territorio.7 Si disseta al torrente lungo il cammino e perciò terrà alta la testa.
