1 Salmo di Davide. Il Signore ha detto al mio Signore: «Siedi alla mia destra finché io abbia fatto dei tuoi nemici lo sgabello dei tuoi piedi[1]». 2 Il Signore stenderà da Sion lo scettro del tuo potere. Domina in mezzo ai tuoi nemici! 3 Il tuo popolo si offre volenteroso quando raduni il tuo esercito. Parata di santità, dal seno dell’alba la tua gioventù viene a te come rugiada. 4 Il Signore ha giurato e non si pentirà: «Tu sei Sacerdote in eterno, secondo l’ordine di Melchisedec[2]». 5 Il Signore, alla tua destra, schiaccia dei re nel giorno della sua ira, 6 giudica i popoli, ammucchia i cadaveri, stritola la testa ai nemici in un vasto territorio. 7 Si disseta al torrente lungo il cammino e perciò terrà alta la testa.

1 A Psalm of David. The Lord says to my Lord: “Sit at my right hand, until I make your enemies your footstool.” (Gios 10,24; Sal 8,6; Sal 18,38; Mat 22,44; Mat 26,64; Mar 12,36; Lu 20,42; At 2,34; 1Co 15,25; Ef 1,20; Ef 1,22; Col 3,1; Eb 1,3; Eb 1,13; Eb 2,8; Eb 8,1; Eb 10,12; Eb 10,13; Eb 12,2; 1P 3,22) 2 The Lord sends forth from Zion your mighty scepter. Rule in the midst of your enemies!
