Psalm 26

New International Version

Of David.

1 Vindicate me, Lord, for I have led a blameless life; I have trusted in the Lord and have not faltered. 

2 Test me, Lord, and try me, examine my heart and my mind; 

3 for I have always been mindful of your unfailing love and have lived in reliance on your faithfulness. 

4 I do not sit with the deceitful, nor do I associate with hypocrites. 

5 I abhor the assembly of evildoers and refuse to sit with the wicked. 

6 I wash my hands in innocence, and go about your altar, Lord, 

7 proclaiming aloud your praise and telling of all your wonderful deeds. 

8 Lord, I love the house where you live, the place where your glory dwells. 

9 Do not take away my soul along with sinners, my life with those who are bloodthirsty, 

10 in whose hands are wicked schemes, whose right hands are full of bribes. 

11 I lead a blameless life; deliver me and be merciful to me. 

12 My feet stand on level ground; in the great congregation I will praise the Lord.

1 Von David. Schaffe mir Recht, o HERR! Denn ich bin in meiner Lauterkeit gewandelt und habe mein Vertrauen auf den HERRN gesetzt; ich werde nicht wanken. (2Ki 20:3; Ps 17:1; Ps 21:8; Ps 25:21; Ps 26:11; Ps 26:12; Ps 43:1; Ps 62:3; Ps 62:7; Lu 18:7) 

2 Prüfe mich, HERR, und erprobe mich; läutere meine Nieren und mein Herz! (Ps 17:3; Ps 139:23) 

3 Denn deine Gnade ist mir vor Augen, und ich wandle in deiner Wahrheit. (Ps 25:10; Ps 89:2; Ps 89:15; Ps 119:30) 

4 Ich sitze nicht bei falschen Leuten und gehe nicht um mit Hinterlistigen. (Ps 1:1; Pr 1:10; Pr 9:6; Jer 15:17; 2Co 6:17) 

5 Ich hasse die Versammlung der Übeltäter und sitze nicht zusammen mit den Gottlosen. (Ps 1:1; Ps 26:8; 1Co 5:9) 

6 Ich wasche meine Hände in Unschuld und umschreite deinen Altar, o HERR, (Ex 30:19; Ps 24:4; Mt 27:14) 

7 um dir zu danken mit lauter Stimme und alle deine Wunder zu verkünden. (Ps 9:2; Ps 9:15; Ps 73:28) 

8 HERR, ich habe lieb die Stätte deines Hauses und den Ort, da deine Herrlichkeit wohnt! (2Sa 15:25; 2Ch 7:1; Ps 27:4; Ps 63:3; Eze 43:1) 

9 Raffe meine Seele nicht hinweg mit den Sündern, noch mein Leben mit den Blutbefleckten, (1Sa 25:29; Ps 28:3; Ps 55:24; Ps 59:3) 

10 an deren Händen Laster klebt und deren Rechte voll Bestechung ist. (Ex 23:8; 1Sa 8:3; Ps 28:4; Ps 71:4; Am 5:12; Mt 26:23) 

11 Ich aber wandle in meiner Lauterkeit; erlöse mich und sei mir gnädig! (Ps 25:16; Ps 26:1; Ps 86:16; Ps 101:2; Ps 103:8) 

12 Mein Fuß steht fest auf rechtem Grund; ich will den HERRN loben in den Versammlungen! (Ps 17:5; Ps 22:23; Ps 22:26; Ps 149:1; Lu 6:47; 1Co 3:11)
