New International Version

For the director of music. Of David the servant of the Lord. He sang to the Lord the words of this song when the Lord delivered him from the hand of all his enemies and from the hand of Saul. He said:

1 I love you, Lord, my strength. 2 The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield^[1] and the horn^[2] of my salvation, my stronghold. 3 I called to the Lord, who is worthy of praise, and I have been saved from my enemies. 4 The cords of death entangled me; the torrents of destruction overwhelmed me. 5 The cords of the grave coiled around me; the snares of death confronted me. 6 In my distress I called to the Lord; I cried to my God for help. From his temple he heard my voice; my cry came before him, into his ears. 7 The earth trembled and quaked, and the foundations of the mountains shook; they trembled because he was angry. 8 Smoke rose from his nostrils; consuming fire came from his mouth, burning coals blazed out of it. 9 He parted the heavens and came down; dark clouds were under his feet. 10 He mounted the cherubim and flew; he soared on the wings of the wind. 11 He made darkness his covering, his canopy around him – the dark rain clouds of the sky. 12 Out of the brightness of his presence clouds advanced, with hailstones and bolts of lightning. 13 The Lord thundered from heaven; the voice of the Most High resounded.^[3] (2Sa 22:14) 14 He shot his arrows and scattered the enemy, with great bolts of lightning he routed them. 15 The valleys of the sea were exposed and the foundations of the earth laid bare at your rebuke, Lord, at the blast of breath from your nostrils. 16 He reached down from on high and took hold of me; he drew me out of deep waters. 17 He rescued me from my powerful enemy, from my foes, who were too strong for me. 18 They confronted me in the day of my disaster, but the Lord was my support. 19 He brought me out into a spacious place; he rescued me because he delighted in me. 20 The Lord has dealt with me according to my righteousness; according to the cleanness of my hands he has rewarded me. 21 For I have kept the ways of the Lord; I am not guilty of turning from my God. 22 All his laws are before me; I have not turned away from his decrees. 23 I have been blameless before him and have kept myself from sin. 24 The Lord has rewarded me according to my righteousness, according to the cleanness of my hands in his sight. 25 To the faithful you show yourself faithful, to the blameless you show yourself blameless, 26 to the pure you show yourself pure, but to the devious you show yourself shrewd. 27 You save the humble but bring low those whose eyes are haughty. 28 You, Lord, keep my lamp burning; my God turns my darkness into light. 29 With your help I can advance against a troop^[4]; with my God I can scale a wall. 30 As for God, his way is perfect: the Lord’s word is flawless; he shields all who take refuge in him. 31 For who is God besides the Lord? And who is the Rock except our God? 32 It is God who arms me with strength and keeps my way secure. 33 He makes my feet like the feet of a deer; he causes me to stand on the heights. 34 He trains my hands for battle; my arms can bend a bow of bronze. 35 You make your saving help my shield, and your right hand sustains me; your help has made me great. 36 You provide a broad path for my feet, so that my ankles do not give way. 37 I pursued my enemies and overtook them; I did not turn back till they were destroyed. 38 I crushed them so that they could not rise; they fell beneath my feet. 39 You armed me with strength for battle; you humbled my adversaries before me. 40 You made my enemies turn their backs in flight, and I destroyed my foes. 41 They cried for help, but there was no-one to save them – to the Lord, but he did not answer. 42 I beat them as fine as windblown dust; I trampled them^[5] like mud in the streets. (2Sa 22:43) 43 You have delivered me from the attacks of the people; you have made me the head of nations. People I did not know now serve me, 44 foreigners cower before me; as soon as they hear of me, they obey me. 45 They all lose heart; they come trembling from their strongholds. 46 The Lord lives! Praise be to my Rock! Exalted be God my Saviour! 47 He is the God who avenges me, who subdues nations under me, 48 who saves me from my enemies. You exalted me above my foes; from a violent man you rescued me. 49 Therefore I will praise you, Lord, among the nations; I will sing the praises of your name. 50 He gives his king great victories; he shows unfailing love to his anointed, to David and to his descendants for ever.

1 ای خداوند، ای قوت من، تو را دوست دارم! 2 خداوند، جان پناه من است. او صخرهٔ من است و مرا نجات میبخشد. خدايم صخرهٔ محكمی است كه به آن پناه میبرم. او همچون سپر از من محافظت میكند، به من پناه میدهد و با قدرتش مرا میرهاند. 3 او را به كمک خواهم طلبيد و از چنگ دشمنان رهايی خواهم يافت. ای خداوند تو شايستهٔ پرستش هستی! 4 مرگ، مرا در چنگال خود گرفتار كرده بود و موجهای ويرانگرش مرا فرو گرفته بود. 5 مرگ برای من دام نهاده بود تا مرا به كام خود بكشد. 6 اما من در اين پريشانی به سوی خداوند فرياد برآوردم و از خدايم كمک خواستم. فرياد من به گوش او رسيد و او از خانهٔ مقدسش نالهٔ مرا شنيد. 7 آنگاه زمين تكان خورد و لرزيد و بنياد کوهها مرتعش شد و به لرزه درآمد؛ زيرا خداوند به خشم آمده بود. 8 دود از بينی او برآمد و شعلههای سوزانندهٔ آتش، از دهانش زبانه كشيد! 9 او آسمان را شكافت و نزول كرد و زير پايش ابرهای سياه قرار داشت. 10 بر فرشتهای سوار شد و بر بالهای باد پرواز نمود. 11 او خود را با تاريكی پوشاند و ابرهای غليظ پر آب، او را احاطه كردند. 12 درخشندگی حضور او، ابرهای تيره را كنار زد و تگرگ و شعلههای آتش پديد آورد. 13 آنگاه خداوند، خدای متعال، از آسمان و از ميان تگرگ و شعلههای آتش با صدای رعدآسا سخن گفت. 14 او با تيرهای آتشين خود، دشمنانم را پراكنده و پريشان ساخت. 15 آنگاه فرمان داد و آب دريا عقب رفت، دميد و خشكی پديد آمد. 16 خداوند از آسمان دست خود را دراز كرد و مرا از اعماق آبهای بسيار بيرون كشيد. 17 مرا از چنگ دشمنان نيرومندی كه از من بسی تواناتر بودند رهانيد. 18 وقتی در سختی و پريشانی بودم، آنها بر من هجوم آوردند، اما خداوند مرا حفظ كرد. 19 او مرا به جای امنی برد و نجاتم داد زيرا مرا دوست میداشت. 20 خداوند پاداش درستكاری و پاكی مرا داده است، 21 زيرا از دستورات او اطاعت نمودهام و نسبت به خدای خود گناه نورزيدهام. 22 همهٔ احكامش را بجا آوردهام و از فرمان او سرپيچی نكردهام. 23 در نظر خداوند بیعيب بودهام و خود را از گناه دور نگاه داشتهام. 24 خداوند به من پاداش داده است زيرا در نظر او پاک و درستكار بودهام. 25 خدايا، تو نسبت به كسانی كه به تو وفادارند، امين هستی و كسانی را كه كاملند محبت میكنی. 26 اشخاص پاک را بركت میدهی و آدمهای فاسد را مجازات میكنی. 27 تو افتادگان را نجات میدهی اما متكبران را سرنگون میكنی. 28 خداوندا، تو چراغ مرا روشن نگه دار و تاريكی مرا به روشنايی تبديل كن. 29 با كمک تو بر صفوف دشمن حمله خواهم برد و قلعههای آنها را در هم خواهم كوبيد. 30 اعمال خداوند كامل و بینقص است و وعدههای او پاک و قابل اعتماد! خداوند از كسانی كه به او پناه میبرند مانند سپر محافظت میكند. 31 كيست خدا غير از خداوند و كيست صخرهٔ نجات غير از خدای ما؟ 32 خدا به من قوت میبخشد و در راههايی كه میروم مرا حفظ میكند. 33 پاهايم را چون پاهای آهو میگرداند تا بتوانم بر بلنديها بايستم. 34 او دستهای مرا برای جنگ تقويت میكند تا بتوانم كمان برنجين را خم كنم. 35 خداوندا، تو با سپرت مرا نجات دادهای، با قدرتت مرا حفظ كردهای و از لطف تو است كه به اين عظمت رسيدهام. 36 زمينِ زير پايم را وسيع ساختهای تا نلغزم. 37 دشمنانم را تعقيب میكنم و به ايشان میرسم و تا آنها را از بين نبرم برنمیگردم. 38 آنها را چنان بر زمين میكوبم كه زير پايم بيفتند و برنخيزند. 39 تو برای جنگيدن به من قوت بخشيدهای و دشمنانم را زير پای من انداختهای. 40 تو آنها را وادار به عقبنشينی و فرار مینمايی و من آنها را نابود میكنم. 41 فرياد برمیآورند ولی كسی نيست كه آنها را برهاند. از خداوند كمک میخواهند، اما او نيز به داد ايشان نمیرسد. 42 من آنها را خرد كرده، به صورت غبار درمیآورم و به دست باد میسپارم. آنها را مانند گل كوچهها لگدمال میكنم. 43 تو مرا از چنگ قومی شورشگر نجات دادی و مرا رئيس قومها ساختی. مردمی كه قبلاً نمیشناختم، اكنون مرا خدمت میكنند. 44 بيگانهها در حضور من سر تعظيم فرود میآورند و به محض شنيدن دستوراتم، آنها را اجرا میكنند. 45 آنها روحيهٔ خود را باختهاند و با ترس و لرز از قلعههای خود بيرون میآيند. 46 خداوند زنده است! شكر و سپاس بر خدای متعال باد كه صخرهٔ نجات من است! 47 او خدايی است كه انتقام مرا میگيرد، قومها را مغلوب من میگرداند، 48 و مرا از چنگ دشمنان میرهاند. خداوندا، تو مرا بر دشمنانم پيروز گردانيدی و از دست ظالمان رهايی دادی. 49 ای خداوند، تو را در ميان قومها خواهم ستود و در وصف تو خواهم سرائيد. 50 خدا پيروزيهای بزرگی نصيب پادشاه برگزيدهٔ خود داوود میسازد و بر او و نسلش هميشه رحمت میفرمايد.
