1Rescue me, Lord, from evildoers; protect me from the violent,2who devise evil plans in their hearts and stir up war every day.3They make their tongues as sharp as a serpent’s; the poison of vipers is on their lips.[1]4Keep me safe, Lord, from the hands of the wicked; protect me from the violent, who devise ways to trip my feet.5The arrogant have hidden a snare for me; they have spread out the cords of their net and have set traps for me along my path.6I say to the Lord, ‘You are my God.’ Hear, Lord, my cry for mercy.7Sovereign Lord, my strong deliverer, you shield my head in the day of battle.8Do not grant the wicked their desires, Lord; do not let their plans succeed.9Those who surround me proudly rear their heads; may the mischief of their lips engulf them.10May burning coals fall on them; may they be thrown into the fire, into miry pits, never to rise.11May slanderers not be established in the land; may disaster hunt down the violent.12I know that the Lord secures justice for the poor and upholds the cause of the needy.13Surely the righteous will praise your name, and the upright will live in your presence.

1ای خداوند، مرا از دست مردان شرور نجات ده! مرا از دست ظالمانْ محفوظ نگاه دار!2آنها تنها به شرارت میانديشند و همواره در فكر بر پا كردن نزاع هستند.3زبانشان مانند نيش مار سمی تند و تيز است و لبهايشان همچون مار افعی سم كشنده دارد.4ای خداوند، مرا از دست مردان شرور محفوظ نگه دار. مرا از دست مردان ظالم كه برای سرنگونی من نقشه میكشند، حفظ فرما.5مردان متكبر بر سر راه من تله و دام میگذارند تا مرا گرفتار سازند.6ای خداوند، من تو را خدای خود میدانم. فرياد مرا بشنو و به داد من برس.7تو قوت و نجات دهندهٔ من هستی. در ميدان جنگ تو سپر من بودهای!8ای خداوند، نگذار بدكاران به مراد دل خود برسند و كامياب شده، مغرور شوند.9بگذار آنچه بر ضد من انديشيدهاند بر سر خودشان بيايد.10ای كاش پارههای آتش بر سرشان بريزد و آنها را بسوزاند، ای كاش به چاه عميق افكنده شوند و هرگز از آن بيرون نيايند.11ای كاش آنان كه به ناحق به ديگران تهمت میزنند، كامياب نشوند. ای كاش شخص ظالم بوسيلهٔ ظلم و شرارت خودش نابود شود.12خداوندا، میدانم كه تو به داد ستمديدگان خواهی رسيد و حق آنان را از ظالمان خواهی گرفت.13ای خداوند، نيكان نام تو را ستايش خواهند كرد و درستكاران در حضور تو خواهند زيست.
