1When Jesus had finished saying these things, he left Galilee and went into the region of Judea to the other side of the Jordan.2Large crowds followed him, and he healed them there.3Some Pharisees came to him to test him. They asked, ‘Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for any and every reason?’4‘Haven’t you read,’ he replied, ‘that at the beginning the Creator “made them male and female,” (Ge 1:27)5and said, “For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh”? (Ge 2:24)6So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no-one separate.’7‘Why then,’ they asked, ‘did Moses command that a man give his wife a certificate of divorce and send her away?’8Jesus replied, ‘Moses permitted you to divorce your wives because your hearts were hard. But it was not this way from the beginning.9I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another woman commits adultery.’10The disciples said to him, ‘If this is the situation between a husband and wife, it is better not to marry.’11Jesus replied, ‘Not everyone can accept this word, but only those to whom it has been given.12For there are eunuchs who were born that way, and there are eunuchs who have been made eunuchs by others – and there are those who choose to live like eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. The one who can accept this should accept it.’
The little children and Jesus
13Then people brought little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them and pray for them. But the disciples rebuked them.14Jesus said, ‘Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.’15When he had placed his hands on them, he went on from there.
The rich and the kingdom of God
16Just then a man came up to Jesus and asked, ‘Teacher, what good thing must I do to get eternal life?’17‘Why do you ask me about what is good?’ Jesus replied. ‘There is only One who is good. If you want to enter life, keep the commandments.’18‘Which ones?’ he enquired. Jesus replied, ‘ “You shall not murder, you shall not commit adultery, you shall not steal, you shall not give false testimony,19honour your father and mother,”[1] and “love your neighbour as yourself.” ’ (Ex 20:12; Le 19:18; De 5:16)20‘All these I have kept,’ the young man said. ‘What do I still lack?’21Jesus answered, ‘If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.’22When the young man heard this, he went away sad, because he had great wealth.23Then Jesus said to his disciples, ‘Truly I tell you, it is hard for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of heaven.24Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.’25When the disciples heard this, they were greatly astonished and asked, ‘Who then can be saved?’26Jesus looked at them and said, ‘With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.’27Peter answered him, ‘We have left everything to follow you! What then will there be for us?’28Jesus said to them, ‘Truly I tell you, at the renewal of all things, when the Son of Man sits on his glorious throne, you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.29And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife[2] or children or fields for my sake will receive a hundred times as much and will inherit eternal life.30But many who are first will be last, and many who are last will be first.

عيسی دربارهٔ طلاق چه میگويد؟
1چون عيسی سخنان خود را به پايان رساند، جليل را ترک كرد و به ناحيهای از يهوديه در آن سوس رود اردن رفت.2جمعيت انبوهی نيز به دنبال او به راه افتادند و در آنجا عيسی بيماران ايشان را شفا بخشيد.3آنگاه بعضی از فريسيان پيش آمدند تا با بحث و گفتگو، او را غافلگير كنند. پس به عيسی گفتند: «آيا شما اجازه میدهيد مرد زن خود را طلاق دهد؟»4عيسی جواب داد: «مگر شما كتاب آسمانی را نمیخوانيد؟ در كتاب آسمانی نوشته شده است كه در آغاز خلقت، پروردگار مرد و زن را آفريد5-6و دستور داد مرد از پدر و مادر خود جدا شود و برای هميشه به زن خود بپيوندد و با او يكی شود، به طوری كه آن دو نفر ديگر دو تن نيستند بلكه يک تن. هيچ انسانی حق ندارد آن دو را كه خدا به هم پيوسته است، جدا كند.»7پرسيدند: «اگر چنين است، چرا موسی فرموده كه مرد میتواند زنش را طلاق بدهد، و كافی است كه طلاقنامهای بنويسد و به دست زنش بدهد و از او جدا شود؟»8عيسی جواب داد: «موسی چنين گفت زيرا میدانست شما چقدر سنگدل و بيرحم هستيد. اما اين خواست خداوند در آغاز خلقت نبود.9و من به شما میگويم كه هر كس زن خود را به هر علتی به غیر از علت زنا طلاق دهد و با زن ديگری ازدواج كند، زناكار محسوب میشود.»10شاگردان عيسی به او گفتند: «با اين حساب، ازدواج نكردن بهتر است!»11عيسی فرمود: «هر انسانی نمیتواند از ازدواج بپرهيزد، بلكه فقط كسانی میتوانند مجرد بمانند كه از خداوند فيض خاصی يافته باشند.12بعضی به علت نقص مادرزادی قادر به ازدواج نيستند؛ بعضی را نيز مردم ناقص كردهاند و نمیتوانند ازدواج كنند؛ و بعضی نيز به خاطر خدمت خدا ازدواج نمیكنند. هر كه قدرت اجرای اين اصل ازدواج را دارد، بگذاريد آن را بپذيرد.»
عيسی و كودكان
13مردم بچههای كوچک را نزد عيسی آوردند تا او دست بر سر آنان بگذارد و برای ايشان دعا كند. ولی شاگردان، آنها را برای اين كار سرزنش كردند و گفتند: «مزاحم نشويد.»14عيسی فرمود: «بگذاريد كودكان نزد من آيند و مانع ايشان نشويد. زيرا فقط كسانی كه مانند اين كودكان باشند، از بركات ملكوت خداوند برخوردار خواهند شد.»15سپس دست بر سر ايشان گذاشت و آنان را بركت داده، از آنجا رفت.
انجام دادن احكام دينی كافی نيست
16در همان روزها، شخصی نزد عيسی آمد و پرسيد: «استاد، من چه كار نيكی انجام دهم تا بتوانم زندگی جاويد را داشته باشم؟»17عيسی گفت: «چرا از من دربارهٔ كار نيک میپرسی؟ غير از خدا چه نيكويی میتواند وجود داشته باشد؟ ولی در جوابت بايد بگويم كه اگر احكام خدا را نگاه داری، زندگی جاويد خواهی داشت.»18پرسيد: «كدام يک از احكام را؟» عيسی جواب داد: «قتل نكن، زنا نكن، دزدی نكن، دروغ نگو،19به پدر و مادرت احترام بگذار، ديگران را مانند خودت دوست داشته باش.»20مرد جواب داد: «من هميشه تمام اين دستورها را نگاه داشتهام. حالا ديگر چه بايد بكنم؟»21عيسی به او گفت: «اگر میخواهی اين راه را به كمال برسانی، برو و هر چه داری بفروش و پولش را به فقرا بده تا گنج تو در آسمان باشد نه بر زمين! آنگاه بيا و مرا پيروی كن!»22ولی وقتی مرد جوان اين را شنيد، اندوهگين از آنجا رفت، زيرا ثروت بسيار داشت.23آنگاه عيسی به شاگردانش گفت: «اين را بدانيد كه ورود يک ثروتمند به ملكوت خداوند بسيار مشكل است.24باز به شما میگويم، گذشتن شتر از سوراخ سوزن آسانتر است از وارد شدن ثروتمند به ملكوت خدا!»25شاگردان از اين سخن حيران شده، پرسيدند: «پس چه كسی در اين دنيا میتواند نجات پيدا كند؟»26عيسی نگاهی به ايشان انداخت و فرمود: «از نظر انسان اين كار غيرممكن است، ولی نزد خدا همه چيز ممكن است.»27پطرس گفت: «ما از همه چيز دست كشيدهايم تا به دنبال شما بياييم. حال، چه سودی عايد ما میشود؟»28عيسی جواب داد: «وقتی من در آن دنيای جديد بر تخت سلطنتم بنشينم، شما شاگردان من نيز بر دوازده تخت نشسته، دوازده قبيلهٔ اسرائيل را داوری خواهيد نمود.29هر كه به خاطر من از برادر و خواهر، پدر و مادر و فرزند، خانه و زمين چشم بپوشد، صد چندان بيشتر خواهد يافت و زندگی جاويد را نيز به دست خواهد آورد.30ولی بسياری كه اكنون اول هستند، آخر خواهند شد و كسانی كه آخرند، اول.»
