For the director of music. A psalm of David, the servant of the Lord.
1I have a message from God in my heart. It is about the evil ways of anyone who sins. They don’t have any respect for God.2They praise themselves so much that they can’t see their sin or hate it.3Their mouths speak words that are evil and false. They do not act wisely or do what is good.4Even as they lie in bed they make evil plans. They commit themselves to a sinful way of life. They never say no to what is wrong.5LORD, your love is as high as the heavens. Your faithful love reaches up to the skies.6Your holiness is as great as the height of the highest mountains. You are as honest as the oceans are deep. LORD, you keep people and animals safe.7How priceless your faithful love is! People find safety in the shadow of your wings.8They eat well because there is more than enough in your house. You let them drink from your river that flows with good things.9You have the fountain of life. We are filled with light because you give us light.10Keep on loving those who know you. Keep on doing right to those whose hearts are honest.11Don’t let the feet of those who are proud step on me. Don’t let the hands of those who are evil drive me away.12See how those who do evil have fallen! They are thrown down and can’t get up.

How Precious Is Your Steadfast Love
1To the choirmaster. Of David, the servant of the Lord. Transgression speaks to the wicked deep in his heart;[1] there is no fear of God before his eyes. (Ps 18:1; Ro 3:18)2For he flatters himself in his own eyes that his iniquity cannot be found out and hated. (De 29:19; Ps 10:3; Ps 49:18)3The words of his mouth are trouble and deceit; he has ceased to act wisely and do good. (Ps 12:2; Jer 4:22)4He plots trouble while on his bed; he sets himself in a way that is not good; he does not reject evil. (Ps 10:7; Ps 97:10; Pr 4:16; Isa 65:2; Mic 2:1)5Your steadfast love, O Lord, extends to the heavens, your faithfulness to the clouds.6Your righteousness is like the mountains of God; your judgments are like the great deep; man and beast you save, O Lord. (Ne 9:6; Ps 71:19; Ps 92:5; Ps 104:14; Ps 145:9; Ps 145:15; Ro 11:33)7How precious is your steadfast love, O God! The children of mankind take refuge in the shadow of your wings. (Ru 2:12; Ps 31:19)8They feast on the abundance of your house, and you give them drink from the river of your delights. (Ps 16:11; Ps 23:5; Ps 27:4; Ps 46:4; Ps 65:4; Isa 25:6; Jer 31:12; Re 22:1)9For with you is the fountain of life; in your light do we see light. (Jer 2:13; Joh 1:9; Joh 4:10; Joh 4:14; Joh 5:26; Ac 26:18; 1Pe 2:9)10Oh, continue your steadfast love to those who know you, and your righteousness to the upright of heart! (Ps 7:10; Ps 79:6; Jer 22:16; Ga 4:9)11Let not the foot of arrogance come upon me, nor the hand of the wicked drive me away.12There the evildoers lie fallen; they are thrust down, unable to rise. (Ps 1:5; Ps 94:4)
