1To the choirmaster. A Psalm of David. Be not silent, O God of my praise! (تث 10:21; مز 28:1; مز 71:6; إر 17:14)2For wicked and deceitful mouths are opened against me, speaking against me with lying tongues. (مز 52:4)3They encircle me with words of hate, and attack me without cause. (مز 69:4)4In return for my love they accuse me, but I give myself to prayer.[1] (مز 38:20; مز 69:13)5So they reward me evil for good, and hatred for my love. (مز 35:12)6Appoint a wicked man against him; let an accuser stand at his right hand. (1أخ 21:1; أي 30:12; مز 35:4; مز 69:22; زك 3:1)7When he is tried, let him come forth guilty; let his prayer be counted as sin! (أم 15:8; أم 21:27; أم 28:9)8May his days be few; may another take his office! (عد 4:16; 1أخ 24:3; مز 55:23; أع 1:20)9May his children be fatherless and his wife a widow! (خر 22:24)10May his children wander about and beg, seeking food far from the ruins they inhabit! (تك 4:12; مز 37:25; مز 59:15)11May the creditor seize all that he has; may strangers plunder the fruits of his toil! (تث 28:43)12Let there be none to extend kindness to him, nor any to pity his fatherless children! (أي 5:4; مز 36:10)13May his posterity be cut off; may his name be blotted out in the second generation! (مز 21:10; أم 10:7)14May the iniquity of his fathers be remembered before the Lord, and let not the sin of his mother be blotted out! (خر 20:5; نح 4:5; إر 18:23)15Let them be before the Lord continually, that he may cut off the memory of them from the earth! (مز 34:16; مز 90:8)16For he did not remember to show kindness, but pursued the poor and needy and the brokenhearted, to put them to death. (مز 34:18; مز 40:17; مز 109:22)17He loved to curse; let curses come[2] upon him! He did not delight in blessing; may it be far[3] from him! (أم 14:14; حز 35:6)18He clothed himself with cursing as his coat; may it soak[4] into his body like water, like oil into his bones! (عد 5:22; مز 73:6; مز 109:29)19May it be like a garment that he wraps around him, like a belt that he puts on every day!20May this be the reward of my accusers from the Lord, of those who speak evil against my life! (مز 109:6; مز 109:29)21But you, O God my Lord, deal on my behalf for your name’s sake; because your steadfast love is good, deliver me! (مز 23:3; مز 63:3; مز 69:16; إر 14:7)22For I am poor and needy, and my heart is stricken within me. (مز 109:16)23I am gone like a shadow at evening; I am shaken off like a locust. (خر 10:19; نح 5:13; أي 38:13; مز 102:11)24My knees are weak through fasting; my body has become gaunt, with no fat. (أي 16:8; مز 35:13)25I am an object of scorn to my accusers; when they see me, they wag their heads. (مز 22:6; مز 22:7; مز 69:19)26Help me, O Lord my God! Save me according to your steadfast love! (مز 119:86)27Let them know that this is your hand; you, O Lord, have done it! (أي 37:7)28Let them curse, but you will bless! They arise and are put to shame, but your servant will be glad! (2صم 16:12; إش 65:14)29May my accusers be clothed with dishonor; may they be wrapped in their own shame as in a cloak! (أي 8:22; مز 35:26; مز 71:13; مز 109:18)30With my mouth I will give great thanks to the Lord; I will praise him in the midst of the throng. (مز 22:25)31For he stands at the right hand of the needy one, to save him from those who condemn his soul to death. (مز 16:8; مز 109:6)
