1This then was the lot of the tribe of the children of Judah by their families; even to the border of Edom the wilderness of Zin southward was the uttermost part of the south coast.2And their south border was from the shore of the salt sea, from the bay that looketh southward:3And it went out to the south side to Maalehacrabbim, and passed along to Zin, and ascended up on the south side unto Kadeshbarnea, and passed along to Hezron, and went up to Adar, and fetched a compass to Karkaa:4From thence it passed toward Azmon, and went out unto the river of Egypt; and the goings out of that coast were at the sea: this shall be your south coast.5And the east border was the salt sea, even unto the end of Jordan. And their border in the north quarter was from the bay of the sea at the uttermost part of Jordan:6And the border went up to Bethhogla, and passed along by the north of Betharabah; and the border went up to the stone of Bohan the son of Reuben:7And the border went up toward Debir from the valley of Achor, and so northward, looking toward Gilgal, that is before the going up to Adummim, which is on the south side of the river: and the border passed toward the waters of Enshemesh, and the goings out thereof were at Enrogel:8And the border went up by the valley of the son of Hinnom unto the south side of the Jebusite; the same is Jerusalem: and the border went up to the top of the mountain that lieth before the valley of Hinnom westward, which is at the end of the valley of the giants northward:9And the border was drawn from the top of the hill unto the fountain of the water of Nephtoah, and went out to the cities of mount Ephron; and the border was drawn to Baalah, which is Kirjathjearim:10And the border compassed from Baalah westward unto mount Seir, and passed along unto the side of mount Jearim, which is Chesalon, on the north side, and went down to Bethshemesh, and passed on to Timnah:11And the border went out unto the side of Ekron northward: and the border was drawn to Shicron, and passed along to mount Baalah, and went out unto Jabneel; and the goings out of the border were at the sea.12And the west border was to the great sea, and the coast thereof . This is the coast of the children of Judah round about according to their families.13And unto Caleb the son of Jephunneh he gave a part among the children of Judah, according to the commandment of the LORD to Joshua, even the city of Arba the father of Anak, which city is Hebron.14And Caleb drove thence the three sons of Anak, Sheshai, and Ahiman, and Talmai, the children of Anak.15And he went up thence to the inhabitants of Debir: and the name of Debir before was Kirjathsepher.16And Caleb said, He that smiteth Kirjathsepher, and taketh it, to him will I give Achsah my daughter to wife.17And Othniel the son of Kenaz, the brother of Caleb, took it: and he gave him Achsah his daughter to wife.18And it came to pass, as she came unto him , that she moved him to ask of her father a field: and she lighted off her ass; and Caleb said unto her, What wouldest thou?19Who answered, Give me a blessing; for thou hast given me a south land; give me also springs of water. 1Und das Los des Stammes der Söhne Judas nach ihren Geschlechtern lag an der Grenze von Edom, der Wüste Zin, nach Süden, am südlichsten Ende. (Nu 26:55; Nu 34:13; Jos 14:2)2Und ihre südliche Grenze beginnt am Ende des Salzmeeres, bei der Zunge, die nach Süden reicht,[1] (Ge 14:3; Jos 3:16; Isa 11:15; Eze 47:8; Eze 47:18)3und sie erstreckt sich gegen Süden zum Skorpionensteig und hinüber nach Zin und wieder gegen Süden nach Kadesch-Barnea hinauf und nach Hezron hin und nach Adar hinauf und wendet sich nach Karka; (Nu 20:1; Nu 34:4)4dann geht sie hinüber nach Azmon und hinaus an den Bach Ägyptens, sodass das Meer[2] das Ende der Grenze bildet. Das sei eure südliche Grenze! (Ex 23:31; Nu 34:5; Jos 13:3)5Und die östliche Grenze ist das Salzmeer bis zur Mündung des Jordan. Die Grenze an der Nordseite aber beginnt bei der Zunge des Meeres an der Mündung des Jordan[3] (Nu 34:7)6und geht hinauf nach Beth-Hogla und zieht sich hinüber gegen Norden nach Beth-Arava; und die Grenze steigt hinauf zum Stein Bohans, des Sohnes Rubens, (Jos 15:61; Jos 18:17; Jos 18:19)7und die Grenze steigt hinauf von dem Tal Achor nach Debir und wendet sich nördlich nach Gilgal, gegenüber Maale-Adummim, das südlich an dem Bach liegt. Danach geht die Grenze zu dem Wasser En-Schemesch und erstreckt sich nach En-Rogel, (Jos 7:24; Jos 7:26; 2Sa 17:17; 1Ki 1:9; Isa 65:10)8und die Grenze geht danach hinauf zum Tal des Sohnes Hinnoms,[4] zum Bergrücken der Jebusiter gegen Süden, das ist Jerusalem;[5] und sie geht hinauf zur Spitze des Berges, der westlich vor dem Tal Hinnom liegt und nördlich an das Ende des Tales der Rephaiter stößt. (Jos 18:16; Jos 18:27; Jud 1:21; 2Sa 5:18; 2Ki 23:10; 2Ch 28:3; 2Ch 33:6; Isa 17:5; Jer 7:31)9Danach wendet sich die Grenze von der Spitze desselben Berges hin zu der Quelle des Wassers Nephtoach und gelangt zu den Städten des Berglandes Ephron und wendet sich nach Baala, das ist Kirjat-Jearim. (Jos 15:60; Jos 18:15; 1Ch 13:6)10Und die Grenze wendet sich herum von Baala gegen Westen zum Bergland Seir und geht hinüber nach dem nördlichen Bergrücken Jearim, das ist Kesalon, und kommt herab nach Beth-Schemesch und geht nach Timna; (Ge 38:12; Jos 19:43; Jos 21:16; 1Sa 6:9)11sodann läuft die Grenze weiter nördlich bis zum Bergrücken von Ekron und neigt sich nach Sikron und geht über den Berg Baala und gelangt nach Jabneel, sodass das Meer das Ende dieser Grenze bildet. (Jos 15:45; 1Sa 5:10; 2Ki 1:2; 2Ch 26:6)12Und die Westgrenze ist das große Meer und seine Küste. Das ist die Grenze der Söhne Judas, nach ihren Geschlechtern, ringsum. (Nu 34:6; De 11:24; Eze 47:20)13Und Kaleb, dem Sohn des Jephunne, gab er ein Teil unter den Söhnen Judas nach dem Befehl des HERRN an Josua, nämlich die Stadt Arbas, des Vaters Enaks, das ist Hebron. (Ge 13:18; Jos 14:15)14Und Kaleb vertrieb von dort die drei Söhne Enaks, Scheschai, Achiman und Talmai, die Enakskinder, (Nu 13:22; Jos 14:12; Heb 11:33)15und er zog von dort hinauf zu den Einwohnern von Debir.
