1The word which came unto Jeremiah from the LORD in the days of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, saying,2Go unto the house of the Rechabites, and speak unto them, and bring them into the house of the LORD, into one of the chambers, and give them wine to drink.3Then I took Jaazaniah the son of Jeremiah, the son of Habaziniah, and his brethren, and all his sons, and the whole house of the Rechabites;4And I brought them into the house of the LORD, into the chamber of the sons of Hanan, the son of Igdaliah, a man of God, which was by the chamber of the princes, which was above the chamber of Maaseiah the son of Shallum, the keeper of the door:5And I set before the sons of the house of the Rechabites pots full of wine, and cups, and I said unto them, Drink ye wine.6But they said, We will drink no wine: for Jonadab the son of Rechab our father commanded us, saying, Ye shall drink no wine, neither ye , nor your sons for ever:7Neither shall ye build house, nor sow seed, nor plant vineyard, nor have any : but all your days ye shall dwell in tents; that ye may live many days in the land where ye be strangers.8Thus have we obeyed the voice of Jonadab the son of Rechab our father in all that he hath charged us, to drink no wine all our days, we, our wives, our sons, nor our daughters;9Nor to build houses for us to dwell in: neither have we vineyard, nor field, nor seed:10But we have dwelt in tents, and have obeyed, and done according to all that Jonadab our father commanded us.11But it came to pass, when Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon came up into the land, that we said, Come, and let us go to Jerusalem for fear of the army of the Chaldeans, and for fear of the army of the Syrians: so we dwell at Jerusalem.12Then came the word of the LORD unto Jeremiah, saying,13Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Go and tell the men of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, Will ye not receive instruction to hearken to my words? saith the LORD.14The words of Jonadab the son of Rechab, that he commanded his sons not to drink wine, are performed; for unto this day they drink none, but obey their father' commandment: notwithstanding I have spoken unto you, rising early and speaking; but ye hearkened not unto me.15I have sent also unto you all my servants the prophets, rising up early and sending them , saying, Return ye now every man from his evil way, and amend your doings, and go not after other gods to serve them, and ye shall dwell in the land which I have given to you and to your fathers: but ye have not inclined your ear, nor hearkened unto me.16Because the sons of Jonadab the son of Rechab have performed the commandment of their father, which he commanded them; but this people hath not hearkened unto me:17Therefore thus saith the LORD God of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will bring upon Judah and upon all the inhabitants of Jerusalem all the evil that I have pronounced against them: because I have spoken unto them, but they have not heard; and I have called unto them, but they have not answered.18And Jeremiah said unto the house of the Rechabites, Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Because ye have obeyed the commandment of Jonadab your father, and kept all his precepts, and done according unto all that he hath commanded you:19Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Jonadab the son of Rechab shall not want a man to stand before me for ever.

Die Treue der Rechabiter und die Untreue Judas
1Das Wort, welches in den Tagen Jojakims, des Sohnes Josias, des Königs von Juda, vom HERRN an Jeremia erging, lautete folgendermaßen: (Jer 22:1; Jer 25:1)2Geh zum Haus der Rechabiter und rede mit ihnen und führe sie ins Haus des HERRN, in eine der Kammern, und gib ihnen Wein zu trinken! (1Ki 6:5; 1Ch 9:26; 1Ch 9:33; 1Ch 23:28; 1Ch 28:12; Jer 35:6)3Da nahm ich Jaasanja, den Sohn Jeremias, des Sohnes Habazinjas, samt seinen Brüdern und allen seinen Söhnen und dem ganzen Haus der Rechabiter, (Jer 35:2; Jer 35:5; Jer 35:18)4und ich führte sie in das Haus des HERRN, zur Kammer der Söhne Hanans, des Sohnes Jigdaljas, des Mannes Gottes, die neben der Kammer der Fürsten, oberhalb der Kammer Maasejas, des Sohnes Schallums, des Türhüters, lag. (1Ki 12:22; 1Ki 13:1; 1Ch 9:19; Ps 84:11; Ps 90:1; Jer 21:1; Jer 26:10; Jer 29:25; Jer 37:3; 1Ti 6:11)5Und ich setzte den Söhnen des Hauses der Rechabiter Krüge voll Wein und Becher vor und sprach zu ihnen: Trinkt Wein! (Ec 9:7; Jer 35:2; Am 2:12; 2Co 2:9)6Da sprachen sie: Wir trinken keinen Wein, denn Jonadab, der Sohn Rechabs, unser Vater, hat uns geboten und gesagt: »Ihr sollt keinen Wein trinken, weder ihr noch eure Kinder, ewiglich; (Le 10:9; Nu 6:2; 2Ki 10:15; Pr 31:4; Lu 21:34; 1Co 10:23)7ihr sollt auch kein Haus bauen, keine Saat bestellen, keinen Weinberg pflanzen noch besitzen, sondern euer Leben lang in Zelten wohnen, damit ihr lange lebt in dem Land, in dem ihr als Fremdlinge wohnt!« (Ge 25:27; Jer 35:10; Php 3:8; Php 3:20; Heb 11:9; Heb 11:13; 1Pe 2:11)8So gehorchen wir nun der Stimme unseres Vaters Jonadab, des Sohnes Rechabs, in allem, was er uns befohlen hat, und trinken keinen Wein alle unsere Tage, weder wir, noch unsere Frauen, noch unsere Söhne, noch unsere Töchter; (Pr 6:20; Pr 13:1; Eph 6:1; Col 3:20)9wir bauen auch keine Häuser, um darin zu wohnen, und besitzen weder Weinberg noch Acker und Saat, (Jer 35:7; 1Ti 6:6)10sondern wir wohnen in Zelten und sind gehorsam und befolgen alles, was uns unser Vater Jonadab geboten hat. (Jer 35:8; Lu 16:10)11Als aber Nebukadnezar, der König von Babel, ins Land heraufzog, da sprachen wir: »Kommt, lasst uns vor dem Heer der Chaldäer und vor dem Heer der Aramäer nach Jerusalem ziehen!« Und so wohnen wir jetzt in Jerusalem. (2Ki 24:1; Jer 4:5; Da 1:1; Mr 13:14; Lu 21:20)12Da erging das Wort des HERRN an Jeremia folgendermaßen:13So spricht der HERR der Heerscharen, der Gott Israels: Geh und sage zu den Männern Judas und zu den Einwohnern von Jerusalem: Wollt ihr euch das nicht zur Lehre nehmen, dass ihr meinen Worten gehorcht?, spricht der HERR. (Pr 19:20; Jer 6:8; Jer 6:10; Jer 26:13)14Die Worte Jonadabs, des Sohnes Rechabs, die er seinen Kindern geboten hat, nämlich, dass sie keinen Wein trinken sollen, die werden gehalten; denn sie trinken keinen Wein bis zu diesem Tag und gehorchen so dem Gebot ihres Vaters. Ich aber habe zu euch geredet, indem ich mich früh aufmachte und [immer wieder] redete, und ihr habt mir nicht gehorcht! (Jer 7:13; Jer 7:25; Mal 1:6)15Und doch habe ich alle meine Knechte, die Propheten, zu euch gesandt, indem ich mich früh aufmachte und sie [immer wieder] sandte, und habe euch sagen lassen: Kehrt doch um, jeder von seinem bösen Weg, und bessert eure Taten, und folgt nicht anderen Göttern nach, um ihnen zu dienen, dann sollt ihr in dem Land bleiben, das ich euch und euren Vätern gegeben habe! Aber ihr habt eure Ohren nicht geneigt und nicht auf mich gehört. (De 30:19; Jer 7:5; Jer 7:25; Jer 25:4; Mt 23:34)16Weil denn die Söhne Jonadabs, des Sohnes Rechabs, das Gebot ihres Vaters gehalten haben, das er ihnen gegeben hat, dieses Volk aber mir nicht gehorsam gewesen ist, (Isa 1:1; Jer 35:14)17darum spricht der HERR, der Gott der Heerscharen, der Gott Israels: Siehe, ich bringe über Juda und über die Bewohner von Jerusalem all das Unheil, das ich gegen sie geredet habe, weil sie nicht hören wollten, als ich zu ihnen redete, und nicht antworteten, als ich ihnen rief! (Pr 1:24; Pr 13:13; Isa 66:4; Jer 11:8; Zec 7:12)18Aber zum Haus der Rechabiter sprach Jeremia: So spricht der HERR der Heerscharen, der Gott Israels: Weil ihr dem Gebot eures Vaters Jonadab gehorcht und alle seine Gebote bewahrt und nach allem gehandelt habt, was er euch geboten hat, (Ps 65:5; Ps 102:29; Jer 33:17; Jer 35:3)19darum spricht der HERR der Heerscharen, der Gott Israels: Es soll Jonadab, dem Sohn Rechabs, nie an einem Mann fehlen, der vor mir steht!
