1The word that came to Jeremiah concerning all the people of Judah in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, that was the first year of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon;2The which Jeremiah the prophet spake unto all the people of Judah, and to all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, saying,3From the thirteenth year of Josiah the son of Amon king of Judah, even unto this day, that is the three and twentieth year, the word of the LORD hath come unto me, and I have spoken unto you, rising early and speaking; but ye have not hearkened.4And the LORD hath sent unto you all his servants the prophets, rising early and sending them ; but ye have not hearkened, nor inclined your ear to hear.5They said, Turn ye again now every one from his evil way, and from the evil of your doings, and dwell in the land that the LORD hath given unto you and to your fathers for ever and ever:6And go not after other gods to serve them, and to worship them, and provoke me not to anger with the works of your hands; and I will do you no hurt.7Yet ye have not hearkened unto me, saith the LORD; that ye might provoke me to anger with the works of your hands to your own hurt.8Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts; Because ye have not heard my words,9Behold, I will send and take all the families of the north, saith the LORD, and Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon, my servant, and will bring them against this land, and against the inhabitants thereof, and against all these nations round about, and will utterly destroy them, and make them an astonishment, and an hissing, and perpetual desolations.10Moreover I will take from them the voice of mirth, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride, the sound of the millstones, and the light of the candle.11And this whole land shall be a desolation, and an astonishment; and these nations shall serve the king of Babylon seventy years.12And it shall come to pass, when seventy years are accomplished, that I will punish the king of Babylon, and that nation, saith the LORD, for their iniquity, and the land of the Chaldeans, and will make it perpetual desolations.13And I will bring upon that land all my words which I have pronounced against it, even all that is written in this book, which Jeremiah hath prophesied against all the nations.14For many nations and great kings shall serve themselves of them also: and I will recompense them according to their deeds, and according to the works of their own hands.15For thus saith the LORD God of Israel unto me; Take the wine cup of this fury at my hand, and cause all the nations, to whom I send thee, to drink it.16And they shall drink, and be moved, and be mad, because of the sword that I will send among them.17Then took I the cup at the LORD' hand, and made all the nations to drink, unto whom the LORD had sent me:18To wit , Jerusalem, and the cities of Judah, and the kings thereof, and the princes thereof, to make them a desolation, an astonishment, an hissing, and a curse; as it is this day;19Pharaoh king of Egypt, and his servants, and his princes, and all his people;20And all the mingled people, and all the kings of the land of Uz, and all the kings of the land of the Philistines, and Ashkelon, and Azzah, and Ekron, and the remnant of Ashdod,21Edom, and Moab, and the children of Ammon,22And all the kings of Tyrus, and all the kings of Zidon, and the kings of the isles which are beyond the sea,23Dedan, and Tema, and Buz, and all that are in the utmost corners,24And all the kings of Arabia, and all the kings of the mingled people that dwell in the desert,25And all the kings of Zimri, and all the kings of Elam, and all the kings of the Medes,26And all the kings of the north, far and near, one with another, and all the kingdoms of the world, which are upon the face of the earth: and the king of Sheshach shall drink after them.27Therefore thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Drink ye, and be drunken, and spue, and fall, and rise no more, because of the sword which I will send among you.28And it shall be, if they refuse to take the cup at thine hand to drink, then shalt thou say unto them, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Ye shall certainly drink.29For, lo, I begin to bring evil on the city which is called by my name, and should ye be utterly unpunished? Ye shall not be unpunished: for I will call for a sword upon all the inhabitants of the earth, saith the LORD of hosts.30Therefore prophesy thou against them all these words, and say unto them, The LORD shall roar from on high, and utter his voice from his holy habitation; he shall mightily roar upon his habitation; he shall give a shout, as they that tread the grapes , against all the inhabitants of the earth.31A noise shall come even to the ends of the earth; for the LORD hath a controversy with the nations, he will plead with all flesh; he will give them that are wicked to the sword, saith the LORD.32Thus saith the LORD of hosts, Behold, evil shall go forth from nation to nation, and a great whirlwind shall be raised up from the coasts of the earth.33And the slain of the LORD shall be at that day from one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth: they shall not be lamented, neither gathered, nor buried; they shall be dung upon the ground.34Howl, ye shepherds, and cry; and wallow yourselves in the ashes , ye principal of the flock: for the days of your slaughter and of your dispersions are accomplished; and ye shall fall like a pleasant vessel.35And the shepherds shall have no way to flee, nor the principal of the flock to escape.36A voice of the cry of the shepherds, and an howling of the principal of the flock, shall be heard : for the LORD hath spoiled their pasture.37And the peaceable habitations are cut down because of the fierce anger of the LORD.38He hath forsaken his covert, as the lion: for their land is desolate because of the fierceness of the oppressor, and because of his fierce anger.

(Jer 1:2; Jer 7:13; Jer 7:24; Jer 19:15; Jer 22:21; Jer 29:19; Ac 7:51)4Dazu hat der HERR alle seine Knechte, die Propheten, zu euch gesandt, indem er sich früh aufmachte und sie [immer wieder] sandte; aber ihr wolltet nicht hören und neigtet eure Ohren nicht, um auf sie zu hören, (Jer 7:25; Jer 11:7; Jer 25:3; Jer 26:5)5wenn Er euch sagen ließ: Kehrt doch um, jeder von seinem bösen Weg und von der Bosheit eurer Taten, damit ihr in dem Land, das der HERR euch und euren Vätern gegeben hat, von Ewigkeit zu Ewigkeit wohnen könnt! (Ge 17:8; 2Ki 17:13; Ps 37:27; Jer 7:3; Jer 7:7; Jer 17:25)6Und wandelt nicht fremden Göttern nach, um ihnen zu dienen und sie anzubeten; und reizt mich nicht zum Zorn mit dem Werk eurer Hände, so will ich euch nichts Böses tun! (De 6:15; De 8:18; Jer 7:6)7Aber ihr habt mir nicht gehorcht, spricht der HERR, sondern habt mich erzürnt durch das Werk eurer Hände, euch selbst zum Schaden! (De 32:21; Ne 9:26; Pr 8:36; Jer 7:17)8Darum, so spricht der HERR der Heerscharen: Weil ihr meinen Worten nicht gehorcht habt, (Jer 25:4)9siehe, so sende ich nach allen Geschlechtern des Nordens und hole sie herbei, und sende zu meinem Knecht Nebukadnezar, dem König von Babel, und lasse sie kommen über dieses Land und über seine Bewohner und über alle diese Völker ringsum; und ich will sie dem Bann preisgeben und sie zum Entsetzen und zum Gespött und zu ewigen Trümmerhaufen machen. (2Ch 36:21; Jer 29:10; Da 1:1; Da 9:2)12Und es wird geschehen, wenn die 70 Jahre vollendet sind, dann will ich an dem König von Babel und an jenem Volk ihre Schuld heimsuchen, spricht der HERR, auch am Land der Chaldäer, und ich will es zur ewigen Wüste machen. Gericht über Babel und alle Heidenvölker
15Denn so sprach der HERR, der Gott Israels, zu mir: Nimm diesen Kelch voll Zornwein aus meiner Hand und gib ihn allen Völkern zu trinken, zu denen ich dich sende, (Job 21:20; Ps 75:9; Zep 3:8; Re 14:10)16damit sie trinken und taumeln und sich wie toll gebärden vor dem Schwert, das ich unter sie sende! (Jer 13:12; Jer 25:27; Jer 51:7; Jer 51:39; Na 3:11; Re 14:8; Re 14:10)17Da nahm ich den Kelch aus der Hand des HERRN und ließ alle Völker trinken, zu denen der HERR mich gesandt hatte, (Jer 1:10; Jer 25:28)18nämlich Jerusalem und die Städte Judas, ihre Könige und ihre Fürsten, um sie zum Trümmerhaufen, zum Entsetzen, zum Gespött und zum Fluch zu machen, wie sie es heute sind; (Ezr 9:7; Ne 9:36; Jer 19:3; Jer 24:9; Jer 25:9)19auch den Pharao, den König von Ägypten, samt seinen Knechten, seinen Fürsten und seinem ganzen Volk, (Jer 43:9; Jer 46:2; Eze 29:1)20dazu das ganze Völkergemisch und alle Könige des Landes Uz und alle Könige des Philisterlandes, Askalon und Gaza, Ekron und den Überrest von Asdod; (Jer 25:24; Jer 47:1; Eze 25:15; Eze 30:5; Am 1:6)21Edom und Moab und die Ammoniter; (Jer 27:2; Jer 48:1; Jer 49:1; Jer 49:7; Eze 25:1; Eze 25:8; Eze 25:12)22auch alle Könige von Tyrus und alle Könige von Zidon, und die Könige der Inseln jenseits des Meeres; (Eze 26:1)23Dedan, Tema und Bus und alle mit gestutztem Bart, (Ge 22:21; Job 32:6; Isa 21:13; Jer 9:25; Jer 49:7)24alle Könige Arabiens und alle Könige des Völkergemisches, die in der Wüste wohnen[1]; (1Ki 10:15; Jer 25:20; Jer 49:28)25alle Könige von Simri und alle Könige von Elam samt allen Königen von Medien; (Isa 21:2; Jer 49:34)26dazu alle Könige des Nordens, die nahen und die fernen, einen wie den anderen, und alle Königreiche der Erde, die auf dem Erdboden sind — und der König von Scheschak[2] soll nach ihnen trinken! (Jer 51:41; Eze 32:30; Hab 2:15)27Und du sollst zu ihnen sagen: So spricht der HERR der Heerscharen, der Gott Israels: Trinkt und werdet trunken und speit aus und fallt hin, ohne wieder aufzustehen vor dem Schwert, das ich unter euch senden werde! (Isa 51:21; Jer 12:12; Jer 25:16; Jer 46:10; Jer 46:14; Hab 2:16)28Und es soll geschehen, wenn sie sich weigern, den Kelch aus deiner Hand zu nehmen und daraus zu trinken, so sollst du zu ihnen sagen: So spricht der HERR der Heerscharen: Ihr müsst dennoch trinken! (2Ch 20:6; Ps 76:8; Jer 4:28; Jer 51:29)29Denn siehe, bei der Stadt, die nach meinem Namen genannt ist, fange ich an, Unheil zu wirken, und ihr solltet ungestraft bleiben? Ihr werdet nicht ungestraft bleiben, sondern ich rufe das Schwert über alle Bewohner der Erde!, spricht der HERR der Heerscharen. (Pr 11:21; Jer 19:3; Jer 25:9; Eze 9:6; Ob 1:15; Lu 23:31; 1Pe 4:17)30Und du sollst ihnen alle diese Worte weissagen und zu ihnen sagen: Der HERR wird von der Höhe herab brüllen und seine Stimme erschallen lassen aus seiner heiligen Wohnung; er wird laut brüllen über seine Weide hin, ein Lied wie die Keltertreter wird er anstimmen über alle Bewohner der Erde. (Isa 42:13; Isa 63:1; Jer 25:9; Jer 25:29; Joe 4:16; Am 3:7; Zec 2:14)31Es dringt ein Lärm bis an die Enden der Erde, denn der HERR hat einen Rechtsstreit mit den Heidenvölkern, er hält Gericht mit allem Fleisch; die Gottlosen übergibt er dem Schwert, spricht der HERR. (Isa 34:1; Isa 66:16; Joe 4:2)32So spricht der HERR der Heerscharen: Siehe, es geht Unheil aus von einem Volk zum anderen, und ein gewaltiger Sturm erhebt sich vom äußersten Ende der Erde her, (Jer 6:22; Jer 23:19; Jer 25:9; Zep 3:8)33und an jenem Tag werden die vom HERRN Erschlagenen daliegen von einem Ende der Erde bis zum anderen; sie werden nicht beklagt, nicht gesammelt und nicht begraben werden; zu Dünger auf dem Erdboden sollen sie werden. (Isa 34:3; Jer 8:2; Eze 39:4)34Heult, ihr Hirten, und schreit, wälzt euch in Asche, ihr Beherrscher der Herde! Denn nun ist eure Zeit erfüllt, dass man euch schlachte, und ihr sollt zerschmettert werden und zu Boden fallen wie kostbares Geschirr. (Jer 4:8; Jer 19:11; Jer 25:36; Eze 30:1; Mt 24:30; Jas 5:1)35Da gibt es keine Zuflucht mehr für die Hirten und kein Entkommen für die Beherrscher der Herde. (Job 11:20; Jer 32:4; Jer 34:3)36Man hört die Hirten schreien und die Beherrscher der Herde heulen, weil der HERR ihre Weide verwüstet hat, (Jer 25:34)37ja, weil die Auen des Friedens verwüstet sind vor der Zornglut des HERRN. (Isa 27:10)38Er hat sein Dickicht verlassen wie ein junger Löwe; so ist nun ihr Land ganz verwüstet geworden durch die Zornglut des Bedrückers, ja, durch seine grimmige Zornglut. (Jer 4:8; Jer 10:25; Jer 12:10; Jer 25:11; Jer 25:15)
