Psalm 98

King James Version

1 A Psalm. O sing unto the LORD a new song; for he hath done marvellous things: his right hand, and his holy arm, hath gotten him the victory.2 The LORD hath made known his salvation: his righteousness hath he openly shewed in the sight of the heathen.3 He hath remembered his mercy and his truth toward the house of Israel: all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.4 Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all the earth: make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise.5 Sing unto the LORD with the harp; with the harp, and the voice of a psalm.6 With trumpets and sound of cornet make a joyful noise before the LORD, the King.7 Let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.8 Let the floods clap their hands: let the hills be joyful together9 Before the LORD; for he cometh to judge the earth: with righteousness shall he judge the world, and the people with equity.

Psalm 98

New International Reader’s Version

1 Sing a new song to the LORD. He has done wonderful things. By the power of his right hand and his holy arm he has saved his people.2 The LORD has made known his power to save. He has shown the nations that he does what is right.3 He has shown his faithful love to the people of Israel. People from one end of the earth to the other have seen that our God has saved us.4 Shout for joy to the LORD, everyone on earth. Burst into joyful songs and make music.5 Make music to the LORD with the harp. Sing and make music with the harp.6 Blow the trumpets. Give a blast on the ram’s horn. Shout for joy to the LORD. He is the King.7 Let the ocean and everything in it roar. Let the world and all who live in it shout.8 Let the rivers clap their hands. Let the mountains sing together with joy.9 Let them sing to the LORD, because he is coming to judge the earth. He will judge the nations of the world in keeping with what is right and fair.
