Psalm 97

Hoffnung für alle



1 Der HERR ist König! Die ganze Welt soll in Jubel ausbrechen, selbst die fernsten Inseln sollen sich freuen! 2 Bedrohliche, dunkle Wolken umhüllen ihn, Gerechtigkeit und Recht sind die Säulen seiner Herrschaft. 3 Loderndes Feuer ist sein Vorbote, es verzehrt seine Feinde ringsumher. 4 Seine Blitze tauchen die Erde in helles Licht, die ganze Welt sieht es und erbebt. 5 Berge zerschmelzen vor ihm wie Wachs, vor ihm, dem HERRN der ganzen Welt. 6 Der Himmel ist Zeuge für seine Gerechtigkeit, und alle Völker sehen seine Hoheit und Macht. 7 Alle, die Götterbilder verehren und mit ihren Götzen prahlen, müssen im Erdboden versinken vor Scham. Ja, all ihr Götter, unterwerft euch dem HERRN! 8 Die Menschen auf dem Berg Zion hören es voll Freude, die Bewohner der Städte Judas jubeln dir zu. Denn du, HERR, richtest gerecht. 9 Ja, HERR, du allein regierst die ganze Welt, du bist mächtiger und größer als alle Götter! 10 Liebt ihr den HERRN? Dann verabscheut das Böse! Gott beschützt alle, die ihm die Treue halten, und rettet sie aus der Gewalt der Gottlosen. 11 Wer Gott gehorcht, in dessen Leben wird es hell, und Freude erfüllt jeden, der ihm aufrichtig dient. 12 Ja, freut euch über den HERRN und preist ihn! Denkt daran, was der heilige Gott getan hat!

1 The Lord reigns, let the earth rejoice; let the many coastlands be glad! (Ps 72,10; Ps 93,1; Ps 96,11) 2 Clouds and thick darkness are all around him; righteousness and justice are the foundation of his throne. (2Mo 19,9; 5Mo 4,11; 5Mo 5,22; 1Kön 8,12; Ps 18,11; Ps 89,14) 3 Fire goes before him and burns up his adversaries all around. (Ps 21,9; Ps 50,3) 4 His lightnings light up the world; the earth sees and trembles. (Ps 77,18; Ps 96,9) 5 The mountains melt like wax before the Lord, before the Lord of all the earth. (Jos 3,11; Ri 5,5; Ps 68,2; Nah 1,5) 6 The heavens proclaim his righteousness, and all the peoples see his glory. (Ps 50,6; Ps 96,3; Jes 40,5; Jes 66,18) 7 All worshipers of images are put to shame, who make their boast in worthless idols; worship him, all you gods! (Ps 96,5; Jes 42,17; Jes 44,9; Hebr 1,6) 8 Zion hears and is glad, and the daughters of Judah rejoice, because of your judgments, O Lord. (Ps 48,11) 9 For you, O Lord, are most high over all the earth; you are exalted far above all gods. (Ps 83,18; Ps 95,3) 10 O you who love the Lord, hate evil! He preserves the lives of his saints; he delivers them from the hand of the wicked.
