Unser Herr ist mächtiger als alle Götter.6Was er will, das tut er auch – sei es im Himmel oder auf der Erde, im Meer oder in den tiefsten Tiefen.7Er lässt Wolken am Horizont aufsteigen, er sendet Regen und grelle Blitze, den Sturmwind holt er aus seiner Kammer und schickt ihn auf die Reise.8In Ägypten tötete er alle ältesten Söhne, die Erstgeborenen von Mensch und Vieh.9Er vollbrachte dort Zeichen und Wunder am Pharao und allen seinen Untergebenen.10Er besiegte viele Völker und ließ mächtige Könige umkommen:11Sihon, den König der Amoriter, Og, den König von Baschan, und alle Könige von Kanaan.12Die Länder, über die sie geherrscht hatten, übergab er Israel, sein Volk bekam das ganze Gebiet als bleibenden Besitz.13HERR, dein Name wird nie in Vergessenheit geraten; dich wird man rühmen, solange es Menschen gibt.14Du, HERR, wirst deinem Volk zum Recht verhelfen. Du erbarmst dich über alle, die dir dienen.15Die Götter der anderen Völker sind nur Figuren aus Silber und Gold, von Menschenhänden gemacht.16Sie haben einen Mund, aber reden können sie nicht; Augen haben sie, doch sie können nicht sehen.17Mit ihren Ohren hören sie nicht, auch können sie nicht atmen.18Genauso starr und tot sollen die werden, die diese Götzen schufen, und auch alle, die solchen Götzen vertrauen!19Ihr Israeliten, lobt den HERRN!
