1Dann sprach der HERR zu Mose:2»Ich habe Bezalel, den Sohn Uris und Enkel Hurs vom Stamm Juda, ausgewählt, den Bau des heiligen Zeltes zu leiten.3Mit meinem Geist habe ich ihn erfüllt; ich habe ihm Weisheit und Verstand gegeben und ihn befähigt, alle für den Bau erforderlichen handwerklichen und künstlerischen Arbeiten auszuführen.4Er kann Pläne entwerfen und nach ihnen Gegenstände aus Gold, Silber oder Bronze anfertigen;5er hat die Fähigkeit, Edelsteine zu schleifen und einzufassen; er versteht sich auf das Bearbeiten von Holz und auf viele andere Arten von Kunsthandwerk.6Ich habe Oholiab, den Sohn Ahisamachs vom Stamm Dan, ausgesucht, um ihm bei allen Arbeiten zu helfen. Auch allen anderen Kunsthandwerkern, die am heiligen Zelt arbeiten, habe ich Weisheit und Verstand gegeben, damit alles nach meinem Befehl angefertigt wird:7das heilige Zelt, die Bundeslade für die steinernen Gesetzestafeln und ihre Deckplatte, die heiligen Gefäße und Werkzeuge, die im Zelt gebraucht werden,8-9den Tisch für die Brote, den goldenen Leuchter, den Räucheropferaltar und den Brandopferaltar mit allem, was zu ihnen gehört, das Wasserbecken und sein Untergestell,10die heilige Amtskleidung für Aaron, die Priestergewänder für seine Söhne,11das Salböl und die wohlriechende Weihrauchmischung für das Heiligtum. Die Kunsthandwerker sollen alles genau so anfertigen, wie ich es dir befohlen habe.«
Der Sabbat
12Der HERR sagte zu Mose:13»Schärfe den Israeliten ein, dass sie den Sabbat als Ruhetag achten! Denn er ist das Zeichen meines Bundes mit euch: Jeder soll daran erkennen, dass ich der HERR bin, der euch zu seinem heiligen Volk macht. Dieses Zeichen bleibt für alle Generationen bestehen.14Darum achtet den Sabbat als einen heiligen Tag! Wer ihn entweiht, muss sterben. Jeder, der am Sabbat irgendeine Arbeit verrichtet, hat sein Leben verwirkt und muss aus dem Volk ausgeschlossen werden.15Sechs Tage könnt ihr arbeiten, aber der siebte Tag ist ein Ruhetag, der mir, dem HERRN, geweiht ist. Wer an diesem Tag arbeitet, darf nicht mit dem Leben davonkommen.16Alle Israeliten – heute und in allen künftigen Generationen – sollen sich daran halten. Sie sollen den Sabbat feiern als Zeichen des Bundes, den ich mit ihnen geschlossen habe.17Dieses Zeichen bleibt für alle Zeiten bestehen! Denn in sechs Tagen habe ich, der HERR, den Himmel und die Erde geschaffen. Doch am siebten Tag habe ich mich ausgeruht und keine Arbeit getan.«
Die Übergabe der Gesetzestafeln
18Nachdem der HERR dies alles zu Mose gesagt hatte, übergab er ihm auf dem Berg Sinai die beiden Steintafeln, auf denen die Gesetze des Bundes festgehalten waren. Gott selbst hatte die Worte auf diese Tafeln geschrieben. (5Mo 9,9)

The Sabbath
12And the Lord said to Moses,13“You are to speak to the people of Israel and say, ‘Above all you shall keep my Sabbaths, for this is a sign between me and you throughout your generations, that you may know that I, the Lord, sanctify you.14You shall keep the Sabbath, because it is holy for you. Everyone who profanes it shall be put to death. Whoever does any work on it, that soul shall be cut off from among his people. (2Mo 35,2; 4Mo 15,32; Jer 17,27)15Six days shall work be done, but the seventh day is a Sabbath of solemn rest, holy to the Lord. Whoever does any work on the Sabbath day shall be put to death.
